Pros: Heard everyone talk about the pool (it was too cold when I was there). But everything else, oh my God! - Amazing views. I drove past this area two or three times and was determined to stay somewhere there. In my head, I had built up this image of beautiful water views through the towering trees down a rolling hill. And that's what I saw from my room. From the back porch, it was stunning!! The leaves were turning color. - THe breakfast!! Trust me, it's worth it to get the breakfast. You get eggs (any kind you like), bacon or sausage, and hash browns. There's a lovely spread of all you can eat bread with a toaster and multiple jams. There's some sort of morning pasty each day (lemon poppyseed cake I had one day was the best I've ever had in my life). There's berries and granola and other fresh fruit. And instead of the basic eggs/bacon option, you can get the house special for that morning. I didn't do it either day, but both days it sounded like something good. I know a lot of people that would've liked it. I imagine if i had stayed one more morning I would've taken it. But I was so excited for bacon and eggs, like a vanilla dork, I went simple. Waitress and cook, and everyone was friendly. And you eat with those same views I was talking about (if its nice, out on the deck). Reading the paper, sipping a juice, looking at the water and feeling the breeze was the highlight of my day. After that, it was impossible to have a bad day in the area. - Location. Camden Hills State Park is stunning, and Camden is so close, I couldn't even listen to one song between the hotel and the town. Cute place, friendly people, beautiful views. - THe in-room jacuzzi. Incredible!! Not just a glorified bathtub, but iwth complimentary bath salts and lots of jets. Wish I could relax like that right now. Just a great place. I 'm sure there are others in the area, but I'd have a hard time not staying here every time I come through from now on.
