10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was an old family run hotel, recommended by some friends. The decor was traditional with some beautiful cross-stitch samplers on the walls. The rooms were large and comfortable, each with its individual decor; and with a small fridge. We are in the restaurant on two evenings and the food was traditional and fabulous! There is a lovely cosy bar and lounge area. The family were very welcoming and helpful. We would stay here again!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous food, lovely clean rooms with all conveniences. Un grand merci à Bernadette et Rose-Marie.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely rooms, very comfortable bed and pillows, staff were welcoming. Breakfast was amazing.
Cons: Web site didn't mention that the bar and restaurant are only open seasonally, so we were just a little disappointed to not be able to have a drink and a meal, after seeing the lovely photos. Great options locally though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Old world charm and quality alive and well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming hotel, helpful staff
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location. We didn’t realize we were coming in such a dead time. Made for great hiking but town was dead. Hotel is dated but very clean and very accommodating.
Cons: Very small bathroom.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Modest but excellent, family-run hotel. Very goods evening meals. Locally popular and well-known. Recommendable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is 150 years old but fully equipped with modern-day facilities. It was extremely clean and comfortable. It had a charming, French inn-style feel. And most importantly, the staff were amazing. I say the staff but it is a family run inn. The mother, Vernadette and her sister, Rosemarie and Vernadette's son, Thomas did everything they could to make our stay perfect. We ate breakfast and dinner in the dining room and would highly recommend any future guests do the same. The food was home-cooked French cuisine at its best, served every time with a smile. We also loved the location. We went hiking in Pont d'Espagne the first day (about ten minutes from the hotel) and then Gavernie (about forty minutes from the hotel) over our two days there. Then, there is Les Bains du Roche literally right behind the hotel. And the hotel has a special price for the spa so we were hiking for two days, after which we enjoyed the spa and an amazing French meal before heading to our room to kick back and enjoy the evening in our room. All in all, an amazing stay. Thank you to the Lassarre family.
Cons: I cannot think of anything. The hotel is in the middle of the quaint village. We parked about a 2 minute walk from the hotel. For us, it was great because we loved that it was free parking. But if someone has trouble walking, it might be a little bit of a challenge.
Hôtel le Bois Joli - Cauterets - Bedroom

9.1 Excellent (272 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A stay at Hôtel le Bois Joli places you in the heart of Cauterets, steps from Pyrenees National Park and 6 minutes by foot from Cirque du Lys Gondola. Featured amenities include luggage storage and an elevator.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel le Bois Joli is a family run business. All staff are exceptional and so welcoming. They go out of their way to make sure that your stay is the best it can be. The rooms are well appointed and our room (402) overlooked the mountains and could not have been better. Given the excellent location, the bar is always busy but there is no problem with noise I can highly recommend the hotel to you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming, individual hotel with good access to walks in the Marcadau valley and elsewhere with the bonus of being slap bang in the middle of Cauterets with cafes and restaurants. Room 302 is a gem with dual aspect windows and views over the rooftops of the town towards the mountains (with small balconies to step out on to to get the air). Breakfast good as well. Highly recommend for a short break in the Pyrenees.
Cons: The Alpine chalet decor - pine panelling everywhere - may grate on some but it seems fitting here and part of the charm.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Town centre hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Free car park within five minutes walk (except for market day).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything except the elevated bathtub which prevented my older sister and brother-in-law from showering for fear they would fall trying to get in or out of the tub.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was very nice for amount paid. Beautiful mountain views! The location was great. Right out the hotel door for restaurants and shopping. Short, scenic drive to Pyrenees National Park.
Cons: Town was a bit quiet being the off season for skiing, but generally, no complaints!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Le Bois Joli exceeded all our expectations. It is so lovingly cared for by the family who owns and runs it. From the moment we walked in, we knew we had arrived for what was going to be a memorable stay. The room was cozy, light-filled, comfortable and decorated to reflect the mountain setting. It was the same in the restaurant, which seemed to be a natural gathering place for afternoon socializing. The staff is amazingly friendly. Cauterets and the surrounding mountain villages and sights (Pont d’Espagne) are beyond beautiful. We also enjoyed time in Les Bains de Rocher spa. All in all, a « wow » stay. We are already looking forward to returning. Thank you Le Bois Joli.
Cons: Absolutely nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view. The comfortable bed. The central location. The warm welcoming staff.
Cons: Quite a quiet time of year but hotel was lovely. Breakfast coffee was fantastic. Room views amazing. Location perfect. Service warm and welcoming.

6.3 Good
Pros: Good location and super town
Cons: Building is very tired. Wall between rooms was paper thin and conversation could be heard. Unfortunately my neighbours were talking all night and therefore I had poor sleep. Did consider changing rooms, but didn’t really want to do that at 0300.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and polite staff. Room was amazing.
Cons: I would prefer a real duvet and better quality pillows. But otherwise was perfect.

Le Pas De L'Ours - Cauterets - Bedroom

7.6 Good (219 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Le Pas de L'Ours in Cauterets, you'll be near ski lifts, just a 1-minute walk from Pyrenees National Park and 9 minutes by foot from Cirque du Lys Gondola. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and luggage storage.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location has a lot of flair.
Cons: It didn't seemed all that safe in case of an emergency.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place, really nice people, and we were made to feel completely welcome. They went out of their way to move rooms around, too, so the kids could be in the room right next to us.
Cons: Everyone vanishes really quite early, so just be aware of that. They were really helpful about making sure we were still happy and had everything we needed, though, so it wasn't a problem.
7.5 Good
Pros: Feeling like you stay in an old country house. Good to have two showers in room 11/27 The staff is nice. Close to town Center
Cons: You cannot really park nearby if all the spaces in the street are taken. The breakfast is quite disappointing. We’re in the heart of mountains and they serve plasticky supermarket gruyère and cheap saucisson?? Come on! Make an effort. You need to get some quality local produce. And ham, not saucisson. And honey. The bread was good though.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Bruno is very helpful and thanks to him, I managed to make a reservation at the refuge which I had to hike to the next day. Overall, the accommodation is very comfortable and very true to the images you see. The wifi connection is very strong even in the room (I was on the 3rd floor). For breakfast, there is a decent spread and was sufficient in my opinion. I will consider staying here again if I have the chance to. Thanks a lot!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Small but nice, quiet comfortable hotel close to town centre and close enough to ski lift
6.3 Good
Cons: No welcoming mat here, instead a dour, inflexible owner, unsympathetic to the needs of walkers. No room or shower until 1500, although the hotel was empty when I arrived at 1100 after 2 days walking in the mountains. I had to walk down to the camping ground, 300m away to get a shower. No self serve breakfast for an early start before a hot day. In total I had 6 nights at this hotel, So my observations are not a one off
7.5 Good
Cons: We were the only guests, between winter and summer seasons. Salon usually locked, leaving only our room available. Basic breakfast, efforts to improve the tea making were to no effect.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were exceedingly friendly!! Great restaurant recommendation for the first night and then we decided to eat at the hotel the second night. The delicious tartiflette did not disappoint! You could tell that you chef is passionate about what he does. The meal was very reasonably priced too. I would definitely come back. :)
Cons: Everything was really great, but if I have to choose something, I would have liked better shampoo, conditioner, etc in the bathroom.
