NothingEverything, they charged what they wanted, leaving you no option with the insurance. Car was in very bad shape, not cleaned and without gasoline I will never rent a car again with them (Europcar)

Beware of all Europcar costs and tricksWhen presented my credit card with collision coverage, Europcar staff told me that to make it valid I needed to have a letter of proof of insurance signed/stamped by some kind of Mexican authority.... really?? How they expect foreigners to get that?? At the end I payed double of my quote for all this tricks and hidden fees

Ask about insuranceChetumal is a small airport and the pick up drop off is convenient and easy.Be aware of insurance requirements in Mexico. If you have a credit card that provides rental car insurance they will require a letter for confirmation from credit card company. If you do not have a letter they will not rent you the car without purchasing insurance. The cost of insurance depends on the value of the car and is minimum $200 USD. They do not indicate that in the listing or the general terms. You have to go deep into the T&C to find that.
