Seriously need to fix their pickup system
Pros: Employees were friendly enough and the car was in good condition. Return was smooth.
The rental was serviced by Thrifty in a shared facility with Hertz a short bus ride from the terminals. (Although hertz had separate employees, they had the same problems with pickup as far as I could tell)
Cons: It took well over an hour to pickup the car, really ridiculous, and we were the second in line when we arrived. It was much worse for others.
Also I got a nail in the tire and they were no help at all, I had to pay for the repair myself because I didn't have the extra "tire cover." (Luckily tire repairs are cheap in Ireland).
The insurance is also a scam in Ireland (this is common to all agencies I could tell), as most credit cards don't cover Ireland, but Chase cards seem to (call to ask). Thrifty accepted this for a 30 euro administrative fee (which is disclosed in the terms).
They were also remarkably nitpicky about the condition of the car, taking photos at checkout and documenting even the slightest scratches or dents.
