Would never use them again. One and done
Pros: Employees are great and are obviously embarrassed by some of their companies policies.
Cons: The car they had me assigned to was badly damaged on all 4 sides. It had been sideswiped at some point and had additional scrapes and dents everywhere. If I wanted a different one I would have to clear the 2 feet of snow myself! They charge $15.00 PER TOLL PLAZA if you don't buy their toll package up front (12.00/ day)for ALL the days of your rental. Most people wouldn't drive on a toll road every day! The car had a half a tank of gas. Agent scribbled it on my contract. When i went to return it there was a hassle. They charge $150.00 deposit to your credit card when you rent; won't be returned until 3-5 days after you return. Finally, this car had bald tires on it. Denver had just recorded 2 feet of snow. I picked it up late at night and didn't realize they were that bad. I will NEVER ever rent from them again!

Cons: After catching the shuttle from the airport to the Fox Rental Center, I had to wait in line for 45 min to do the paperwork, and then another 45 in standing outside while they "finished" with my car in the wash bay. There were lots of others outside waiting too. The car itself had lots of scratches and the front grate was missing.
I went back 2 days later to add my husband as a second driver after he flew in and had to wait another 45 min.

FOX was a great choice for our family.
Pros: The customer service person had a great personality and explained everything. The vehicle was in good condition and clean. Dropping the vehicle off was very quick, which was great since we needed to catch a flight.
Cons: The only thing that was somewhat concerning was how long we waited in line to pick up the vehicle. That said, it seemed like many flights had just gotten in, so all the lines were full of people. When we got up to the front and it was our turn, the transaction was handled quickly and with professionalism.
Pros: I was happy to have a rental car with unlimited miles
Cons: I didn't like we were encourage to take the toll road for an extra cost when it wasn't needed to reach my destination. I wasn't happy I was told gas was cheaper with rental company only to learn it was not prorated on what I used. The vehicle was upgraded not by my choice but due to what was available but I was charged for it. The wait time for an advantage bus at the airport took 20 mins

Cons: There was a 2+ hour wait line that only grew longer(literally wrapping around the building) as we arrived at the agency. They had clearly over-booked their fleet and were turning out new rentals at the rate that cars were coming back in. We walked to the neighboring Dollar and got gouged on rate rather than wait 2+ hours their line with our young children.

Worst Experience Ever
Pros: Liked when it was over. Even willing to pay the extra unexplained charges just so we didn't have to deal with them anymore.
Cons: We literally didn't like anything. Terrible customer service. The salesperson tried to screw us over with charges we didn't understand and he became aggressive when we sought an explanation.

Did not get what I asked for
Cons: I specifically asked for a 4 door when reserving, but they only had 2 door when I got there. I then had to "upgrade" for an extra $20/day to a car that was dirty with food crumbs all over. My bill went from $88 to $160!...and that's not including extras such as fuel, etc.
Cons: KAYAK must have switched the pick up location from Denver International to downtown Denver. I discovered this the day before I was to travel.
Since it was through KAYAK, I was not able to switch the reservation to Denver airport.
This caused terrible delays across the board picking up the car, as well as a $50 penalty to drop off at the airport.
KAYAK was a total FAIL.

Complained to corporate
Cons: Man said our car wasn't there, we were 15 minutes late so he pushed us out the door, said he had no cars they were out for maintenance despite several cars in the lot. One hour later, we could see the man still in the store across the street from the doughnut shop. Will never use enterprise or kayak for car rental again. We never got a car. We got terrible service. And several days after calling corporate, they still haven't replied. Our entire day was ruined.

Uber/lyft too expensive
Pros: Ride was cheaper than at the airport. They did have the truck I reserved.
Cons: Uber/lyft rides to and from the airport were too expensive to make it worth while. $87 one way, and enterprise said it would be $100 to just drop off the car at the airport. Should have just saved some time by doing that. Or found regular taxi rates.

Refused to rent me my car.
Cons: My drivers license has abbreviated first name because my name is too long for New York State to print it on my license. I had secondary ID in the form of a passport. The woman refused to rent me my vehicle. Refused to put me as a driver on the vehicle when my girlfriend was forced to rent the vehicle. She then tried to sell my girlfriend all this additional insurance that we had already paid for and then instantly took it off when I confronted her about it. She was nasty and unwilling to help. Never again.

Ask for Megan at the S. Broadway store
Pros: There were a couple of timing issues with our vehicle, but sometimes that's the name of the game. In my opinion, issues happen, but it's how you fix them that matters most.
Megan is the manager of the S. Broadway store and she was extremely helpful and kind. She did every single thing in her power to get us on the road in a better vehicle than we paid for, at a discounted rate. I appreciated her understanding and overall customer service and it will make me a return customer to her store.

Good Car, Mediocre Service
Pros: I was on my way pretty quickly. The car was fairly new and it worked very well.
Cons: While I was literally in the middle of going through my information with the clerk, someone walks in the door and he starts taking her information!
There was a fairly obvious issue with the bumper of my car that the clerk who helped me did not document on the rental agreement. When I returned the car off to a different location, the clerk who received it took issue with this defect.

Cons: HORRIBLE. Enterprise called me on Friday to confirm that I still wanted my car and continued to talk to me about how lucky I am that my car is ready because there was hail storm Friday that damaged their cars. When I landed Saturday I had a voicemail that said my car was no longer there because of a hail storm that damaged 4,000 of their cars. Two hail in two days seems very very unlikely, especially because no other cars in the surrounding area were damaged and no one else said that there was a hail storm the night before. The other people we spoke with knew nothing of a hail storm. I had to rent a car for TWICE as much because Enterprise had "no cars" I assume they double booked and gave away my reserved card. I am asking Enterprise to make up the difference in what I paid.

Pros: The car ran well and gave me no problems. The service was quick.
Cons: No one walked out with me to the car to inspect it. When I returned the car, it was discovered I had been driving the whole time with the spare tire on the driver's front right. I had not noticed that upon pick up. Also the car was not washed when I got it, but I didn't say anything.
I did not have a flat tire or any problem with the car, used only 1/2 tank of gas. I will not pay for the flat tire -- I know nothing about that.

Pros: The service staff at the pick-up office was very helpful and considerate seeing that they had to make the best of a bad situation. The price was cheap compared to all other available rentals and they were the only one that had the van we needed.
Cons: Not sure if it was kayak or EZ car but we made a reservation and EZ car could find no record of the reservation even though they had charged our credit card. So we remade the reservation and were charged again. A month later we are still trying to remove the first charge.
The cars to choose from were both very dirty and filled with trash. We chose the one with chocolate smudges over the one that smelled like vomit. The headlights aimed up so we couldn't see the mountain roads at night. The brakes were better at shaking the car than stopping the car.

Cons: I rented a car from Payless on 2 occasions in Denver airport in April. After I picked up, the 1st time, I noticed that the final charges were substantially higher than what my email confirmation had said. When I called back, I found out that the "road recovery fee" was optional. The agent had not even asked if I wanted this or not; she simply added it to my charges, which increased the total substantially. The agent over the phone rectified the error but it was a hassle having to call. Then, just a few days ago, I rented another car at Payless Denver airport, and the agent this time told me that since I have an int'l. drivers license, I had to pay $15.95 per day more to cover liability, even though I said my credit card covered all insurance. He said it was required; that he could not rent me the car unless I paid. Later, when I called back to speak to a manager at Payless, they said that is not true, and deducted those charges for me. The manager there also told me that the agents receive a commission on total sales so there is an incentive to lie to increase the total amount of the rentals. She also gave me a discount, for my trouble in having to go back in to close out that rental and do a new one, w/ correct charges. That was nice of her but both experiences have left me angry and amazed that Payless employees are routinely fraudulently misrepresenting charges to get a higher total, and more commission. I am thinking about reporting these practices to the CO Attorney General's office, consumer protection division. And I will never rent from Payless again.

Cost more then stated online
Pros: Onine it said my total charge including fees and Sur charges. Then when I got to the counter he said there is a mandatory $15 insurance charge by the state of Colorado. I told him my insurance covers that, he said no it does not and I have to pay. I think it must have been $15 a day which he did not say that because my total charge was $168. Online my total charge was $108. If there was a State law that says we need to pay for insurance that is already covered by my insurance and the credit card I'm paying with, it should be stated before we purchase the car to rent not when we get to the counter.

Cons: We waited at the airport curb for 20 minutes for the van to take us to the check-in office and pick-up office. We watched the other rental company vans come and go several times over before the Payless shuttle arrived. We became so frustrated that we went over to the driver of another company's shuttle to ask him if this was typical. He said that, while the other companies have 10-15 shuttles for picking up customers, Payless has 2 or 3. Then, upon arriving at the check-in office, there were 2 representatives behind the desk for checking people in, and the line had about 20 customers ahead of us. Thus, from the time we arrived curbside to get the shuttle to the time we were in our rental car, was about an hour.

Pros: There were plenty of bad reviews online about FireFly, so I was hesitant. But I was looking for a lower price than Hertz, Avis, etc had to offer so went for it. I had a completely pleasant experience. People there were helpful, the car was fine, and it was a good price.

long, long wait to pick up
Pros: there was nothing wrong with the car itself, except for being on vacuumed and dirty when I picked it up. I don't really care that much about it though. The price was the lowest available, but I'm not sure I would choose this company again.
Cons: the line to pick up the car was extremely long with only 1 person working and trying to handle a problem customer apparently. It took over an hour from the time I got dropped off at the pickup location to when I drove off.there was also a delay when I dropped off at the end of the rental.I guess they are able to charge lower rates because they only employee a couple of people.

Not a great experience
Pros: The drop off was a breeze and went much more smoothly than our pickup.
Cons: There were no signs from the airport or in Firefly communication emails that directed us to take the "Thrifty" shuttle so we were confused and wasted a lot of time walking around. We finally googled ways to get to Firefly and made it on the shuttle and to the pick up location, we waited in line for 45 minutes to get our car with only a few people ahead of us. The car had sticky syrup stuff on the interior that we had to wipe down after we arrived to our destination. The check engine light came on for some of the trip and the car was making strange sounds every time we would turn it on. The windshield wipers did not work well which was upsetting while it rained a few days on our trip. We felt like no one checked or maintained the cars for it to have this many issues but we needed the car and did not have time to return it or exchange it during our drip. Not sure how much of this is normal or even the fault of Firefly, but I will not be booking with Firefly again.

Cons: we stood in line for 60 minutes and only saw two people actually pick up their keys. the line was long, it wasn't moving, the agency didn't have cars for the reservations they had on file, and no on was telling us anything. we ended up walking over to buget and getting a car there. it was worth the extra $60.

Pros: The car was new (but smelled strongly of cigarettes. Didn't seem like they tried very hard to remove the smell.)
Cons: Understaffed, so ridiculously long wait to get your reserved car. Unfriendly staff-- no smile, no conversation etc. I was asked if I wanted an additional driver, my husband, and I said Sure. With every single rental company I've ever rented from and there have been MANY, it's rarely costed additionally fit your spouse to be an additional driver, but if it did, I was told. I wasn't told it would be an additional $10/day, and when you sign, it's one of those credit card machines that has nothing for you to read when you sign. Ended up costing me an additional $60. I was given two different "Estimated charges" bills and they are very tricky about how they present the bill (looked like one was an estimate of what the total cost would be if I brought the car back without gas.)
When I returned the car, I realized I had been charged for my husband being an additional driver and the one girl working said she was unable to change it, but that it was standard to charge for additional drivers. She said I'd have to deal with corporate if I wanted to be reimbursed.
Corporate was a joke. They gave me the run around, told me to call the office from which I had rented the car (which gave me a "this voice message system has not been set up yet" recording.) Ultimately a very blunt customer service agent told me I was stuck with the extra charge and to basically deal with it. I told her that they had sneakily gotten my $60 but they'd lost a customer for life, as well as potential customers in my friends and family. They were fine with that. Don't rent from them!!!!

Pros: Never do business with this company. We arrived at the Denver airport location with a 3pm booking. We waited in line for 45 min and then were told that that there were no ca r s available because ppl were not returning cars on time. About 45 min later they said that they had no workers to clean the cars. Then when we finally got the keys to the car the lady said that it was Hertz's fault because of a merger. I asked for gps extra. When we got in the car, it already had a built-in gps. I had to go back, wait in line and return it! We left 2.5 hours after our booking!
Cons: The lady in the front desk seemed out of touch with reality annd may have been high on something.

Pros: The car was comfortable, clean, and great value for money.
Cons: The amount of time it took the bus to come was close to 20 minutes, fast break was closed, the exit from the lot took 5 minutes to clear the final gate because of manual entry. It was almost an hour from the time I picked up my bags to get the rental car and get out of the airport.

Budget is trying to charge us for damage we identi
Cons: We got to the line and it took forever to rent the vehicle. Then we got to the vehicle and saw that it had a right rear tail light that had been basically been punched into the vehicle. We identified it to one of budget workers on the lot and he switched the vehicle for one that was much bigger because he didn't have one of the same size on the lot. We drove that vehicle for a week and then returned it. Upon returning it the counter couldn't give us a receipt with the vehicle we returned but again we waited for 30 minutes and had to catch our flight. A month later we receive a bill from Budget saying that we cause the damage that we identified on a vehicle we didn't drive off the lot on a vehicle that on the receipt that they gave us showed had no miles on it for the rental timeframe. Their response was, "we don't care about the miles since you had unlimited miles on the vehicle." But since there was no miles put on the vehicle from the time we "picked" up the vehicle and "returned" it doesn't that show that we didn't rent or drive the vehicle. Isn't there a vehicle that they have, lets say for arguments sake was a escalade with unexplained miles and tolls on it for that week.

Pros: Friendly clerks, fairly efficient
Cons: We reserved a minivan for 1 price, but when we presented ourselves to the agent, we were told that he would upgrade our reservation for no additional cost, due to significant weather conditions. The upgrade was to a 4-wheel drive Ford Expedition (4 WD wasn't necessary, it turns out). We accepted the 'upgrade' but then found out that in fact, the cost would be an additional $500 for the week.
As well, the car was contained trash items in the pockets of the seats, and the rear window wiper was busted.
Ultimately, they agreed to charge us $250 for the week, but not until we made a fuss.

Cons: The drop off in Aspen had no customer service people for ANY of the rental agencies and was not well marked and confusing. The "drop-box" location was in the arrivals section of the airport rather than the departure section. Very odd. This is more of a negative to the airport than to any one rental agency.

Pros: I reserved a 4 door pick up truck and expected a half ton. The truck that was available was a HD three quarter ton 4 wheel drive pick up. I was skeptical but it turned out to be a comfortable, smooth running vehicle.

Cons: I booked the rental car and selected to pick up the car at 4 pm. After hours of being in transit I finally got to the Hertz location only to find that it closes at 4 pm. At least their competitor was open, but I ended up paying 6 times more than what I had originally booked. This is completely unacceptable for a company to display incorrect pick up times and I will never use Hertz again.

Easy and affordable
Pros: Friendly staff. After hours drop off, so convenient.
Cons: Air pressure in tires was not checked before we left.

Customer service saved a bad experience
Pros: Although we were not notified this location would be closed at the time I selected for pick-up, their area manager, Jake Campbell, went above and beyond to make things right. I would use them again and also recommend this location after discovering that the fees for using an airport location would have doubled our cost. Get an Uber and still come out much less than getting a rental at the airport!
Cons: This is a downtown Denver location with NO TRANSPORTATION to/from the Denver Airport. I selected a pick-up time of 4:00 p.m. but was never notified that this location closes at 4:00. (*If your time allows using Uber to get to this location still winds up being a better deal than paying the airport fees when renting from Hertz located at the airport.)
Cons: This was sent to the wrong email. All the information. The poor man' address etc were all sent to my email. I did not rent a car, some guy name Mike did, he lives in Denver, I am in Michigan. Now I will probably get emails from Dollar, which I do not want.

Expensive and slow
Pros: The minivan was ok
Cons: The pickup process was interminable. The guy kept trying sell me insurance.
The price was very high $150/day and ONLY a minivan was available.
The checkout process took a long time to leave the lot.
Drop off was slow.
I paid a premium price for a mediocre product and very poor service

Cons: Car was very dirty.
I usually don't care about the sound system in rental cars, but the speakers in this car were notably weak. I would mess with the bass (all the way up / all the way down) with 0 change.

Cons: Waited a very long time for the shuttle to take folks to the rent cars. Other buses had come two to three times before Dollar came around. Tried to call the rental counter to inquire but no answer each time I called.
Also, I'm pretty sure I paid for a mid size and they stuck me in a compact.

I will never use Dollar again
Cons: I had to reroute my flight due to American Airlines being completely unreliable. I ended up flying into Denver instead of Colorado Springs. Due to my late arrival I had to rent a car in order to get to my car at the Colorado Springs airport. When I got to the building, there were four people in line in front of me (three of which were traveling together) and no attendant in sight. Finally the woman in the front of the line waved someone down and asked if there was anyone working. Miraculously, three attendants showed up. (I guess break time is more important than customer service). The gentleman who "helped" me clearly spoke English as a second language and made our communication incredibly difficult. I declined insurance because my personal insurance covers rentals and I declined the toll reader. The gentleman at the counter was very pushy about the insurance and toll reader, almost as if he got commission if I accepted, but I stayed firm and again declined both. I then asked if I could go straight to the airport in Colorado Springs to drop off the rental and pick up my own car so I would not have to pay the two day rental fee that Kayak was showing I was going to be charged when I made my reservation, but because of the language barrier was told to drop it off at noon the following day. After conducting my own research I found that the soonest I could drop the car off was 6 the following morning when they reopened because they do not have 24 hour drop off service at Colorado Springs airport. I was told my total and almost crapped my pants, but figured I was getting charged for two days and would sort it out at the Colorado Springs Dollar desk since this gentleman clearly was not understanding anything I had to say. He did not go over my contract with me, nothing about my contract showed up on the electronic signature panel when I told me to sign. Again, I was under the impression he followed my request for no insurance coverage and no toll reader, so I signed.
I left the Denver airport at 11:30pm and returned the car at 6:00am the following morning. Which means I had the car for a total of 6 1/2 hours. I drove from Denver airport to my house to Colorado Springs airport. When I went to the counter at Colorado Springs to dispute my two day charge since I only had the car for 6 1/2 hours and the fact that I couldn't have turned it in the same day because they don't have 24 hour drop off, I was informed that I wasn't charged two days, but was charged the daily rate for one day, the drop off at a different location fee, extended insurance coverage fee and the toll box fee. I was livid! I was told there was nothing hey could do for me at that location since the rental and contracted were initiated at a different location and that I would have to contact the Denver office. My e-mailed receipt after I turned in the car said I paid $198.00 for the 6 1/2 hours I had the basic model Ford Fiesta, but my bank statement shows I have a $223 pending charge.

Cons: Everything, rude staff, liars, thiefs, scammers. Got ripped off because that's how this company works.

Pros: Shuttle service was efficient. Check in and drop off was quick. Took us having to sit in several cars to find one that was comfortable. Plenty of selection.
Cons: Counter agents weren't interested in what they were doing. We were just directed out a door and to row B, which was in the back of the lot with no visible signage. No economy cars were available, so we were told just to take any car in A,B or C, however another customer was driving back from trying to leave saying she was going to be charged extra for the upgrade. The techs then got several more economy cars available.
Pros: Picking up the car, filling out the paperwork was easy, quick.
Cons: On the day of return, we had called to ask if it would be ok that we returned by 1pm when we initially said noon and we were told that would be no problem. We were coming back to Denver from a 3 hour drive in the mountains; however when we arrived at 1:15 pm, we were charged for another full day!!!! The guy helping us was rude and short with us.
The manager wasn't around at this time so we called back an hour later, she said she assumed we knew there would be a late charge; why would anyone assume that when being told it is no problem; that is something that should be stated when the question is being asked. Poor customer service, didn't feel taken care of to want to use them again.

pickup location error
Pros: Avis upgraded the car for me
Cons: I searched for cars to rent from the Denver Airport. Kayak found a rate cheaper than anywhere else. What I didn't notice was that it was from a downtown location. Fortunately Avis gave me a rental from the airport. Unfortunately the rate was double what it was from the downtown location.

Pros: Ultimately, they were able to accommodate me after a reservation error. Shuttle service is prompt and convenient
Cons: I made the reservations on Kayak. I specifically put in Denver Airport for the location, but the "deals" that came up were actually for a different address in downtown Denver. We took the shuttle from the airport to the Avis location and the line was out to the door. After waiting close to an hour in line (which proceeded to extend out the door and into the road about 10 minutes after we got in line) I gave the clerk my name and she said that I did not have a reservation. She looked it up by my reservation number and told me that it was for the downtown location and that it was about a $60 cab ride to get there. She even told me that this happens all the time..
They did get me a vehicle, but it cost me $140 more than what I was expecting to pay.

Car is good but the service is terrible
Pros: The Ford Focus was new, clean, and full of the latest features. It also drives and rides very well. Plenty of oomph to go 75 miles per hour on I-25.
Cons: The rental line was long. The service center was drab. The return was chaotic. The trainee assigned to handle the return did not know what she was supposed to do and there was no one to help her.
I never received an email receipt. They also tagged on a fuel charge even though I made sure the tank was full before the car was returned. They did refund the fuel charge after I complained.
I won't go back for a long time.

Cons: The Denver International Airport Avis is terribly run. They lost the SUV I was supposed to rent twice since they have no formal way of tracking cars in their lot. It took about 3 hours to finally get my vehicle.

Pros: The staff was kind and the car was comfortable.
Cons: Was a considerable wait in line. All cars at DIA are ridiculously expensive to rent. We paid approx $2000 to rent an SUV for one week. I would appreciate it if Kayak and others of influence would put pressure on DIA to offer more reasonable rates.

Dnever International Airport Avis
Pros: Decent vehicle, ran nice.
Cons: There were 75 people in line to get a car when our shuttle arriver at the lot. That is absolutely rediculous! The long wait means no more Avis rentals at Denver International.
Cons: Did not appreciate the overwhelming odor of fabric freshener used to cover up the previous renter's smoker's odor. I used the truck to hunt, so that was a terrible issue and there was only this truck to rent, no other option...
