I like bigger car for many reasons, depending on where you are going some places road are not as good.

Verified travelerAug 2026

Be careful who you book with and make sure you have a credit card that covers the insurance or you be paying over $20 per day more than you planned.

Verified travelerAug 2025

Make sure you have your credit card insurance letter

Verified travelerDec 2024

Make sure you explain to the desk that you need a car in good condition. Service was good but don’t accept a rundown car with the excuse that they are out of vehicle as I did.

Verified travelerFeb 2025

High clearance or SUV -- the roads are atrocious.

Verified travelerOct 2024

Small vehicles are best if you want to explore as some roads are on a cliff and Turing around in large vehicles is very difficult unless you are very experienced.

Verified travelerAug 2024

Be more wary when you have to leave the Airport compound to pick up the car. Economy is about two minutes from the airport however. The airport rentals have similar terms.

TremellAug 2024

Just rent a car from inside the airport.

CyndiMar 2024

CARWIZ is the best. Pick up and drop off at the airport! It’s easy to drive in Jamaica as long long as you don’t get too Andy’s out driving on the left side🇯🇲

Verified travelerMay 2024

There should be clear information about the rental insurance. No rental car company will insist on buying their rental insurance if we have our own insurance That should be made clear while booking to avoid any confusion while pick-up.

ConrodSept 2023

It was very easy for me, but the only tip I would have is remember to always stay on the left

IlanaJul 2023

Everything is opposite. Easy adjustment.

Nestled on the northwestern side of Jamaica, Montego Bay attracts visitors with its beautiful coastline and various attractions like the Aqua Sol Theme Park. Whether you’re on a family vacation or traveling with friends, gain the flexibility to explore Montego Bay and its surroundings in your own time with a hire car instead of depending on cabs or shuttles. If possible, avoid driving during the night, as many streets are not well lit (or lit at all), but after getting around in Montego Bay during the day alright, driving at night can also be attempted. Popular attractions like Dunn's River Falls or Rose Hall Great House are a short drive away, and you won't have to deal with public transport schedules or possible delays. Car hire also means easily travelling with any luggage you want to take with you.

If you want to enjoy the natural beauty of the island and see more of what Montego Bay has to offer, head out on the scenic drive to Ocho Rios or Negril. You can even spend time visiting various beaches on the island. Hiring a car gives you the freedom to make as many stops along the way as you want, visit local restaurants, take pictures and enjoy the scenery along the way.

They were rude and just useless. I told them that my Gold, Capital One Mastercard, covered vehicle rental insurance. I also provided the letter stating the card i have, as well as the coverage; but they insist that my card doesn't cover it, and that i needed a letter with my name on it. I called the credit card company, just to make them happy, and they said they don't issue letters in people's names. I went over to budget and right away the lady says my card is covered for insurance. I'll never use Avis again they are stupid

First of all I don’t like giving people bad reviews but I have to do this one, when I went to pickup the car they tried to give me a crossover instead of a standard size SUV , so I have to wait until the boss or whoever it was brought aCRV to the location, when the car came it was dirty and I had to wait until they wash it. The interior of the car was shabby and unclean. Seat belt even soil my white shirt, the car also need shock at the rear. Overall it was as bad experience, I would never rent from there ever again.

I rented and paid for a compact suv.when I got there the manager told me that there's a mistake online and that I paid for a compact car. Eventhough I had a receipt with the name, description and picture. He said he can only give me a small clown car, which was nit going yo work for the type of trip I had planned. I had to pay extra to upgrade to a midsized car, he refused to give ne an suv. He said that priceline has the price wrong on their website but when I went on their own "Addon rental" website they showed the same price. Of and for the icing on top, I didn't buy their insurance because I had coverage through my credit card, I guess he wasn't happy about that and said if something happend I would have to pay for it and deal with my insurance separately. I've used Mt card fir several car rentals in the past an know one has ever told me that. There's other great car rentals in Jamaica at the airport like Budget and Island rental. Stay away from addon rentals.

Pickup took forever -- company phone didn't answer, had to ask airport staff. The first car they gave us was an old junker that gave up the ghost a day later and barely made it back to the rental for replacement, almost ruined our trip. The second car was okay. When we came back there was nobody at the agency and no key dropoff, had to use the building owner to give us the ride. Finally they charged me $40 for the quarter tank of gas that the broken car used up -- more than a full tank of gas would have cost at the pump. Avoid this place.

The lady at the counter went out of her way to help me but the car itself was old and clearly in need of some work.

Would be better if I didn’t have to wait 3 hours to get a car that was reserved, the air conditioning worked consistently, and the car didn’t sound like it was falling apart.

Waited in the terminal for almost two hours while they fumbled with my registration and told me I would have to call the people I made a reservation with because they couldn’t just help me. It finally worked but get this the lost damage waiver doesn’t cover a popped tire so all around not a very worthwhile experience will not be using Budget ever again

The customer service was poor. I ended up not taking the car. The Office Manager , Ms. Brown saw that I was not satisfied with the service of the driver (Sanjay) and encouraged me to follow my gut. I was almost finished with the service when I changed my mind. One of the men wanted to know which direction I was travelling with the car. That was a scary question.
