Cons:
There apparently is a French and Swiss side to the airport with car rentals at both places. The French side is smaller with less car but maybe a better deal. I rented a small suv because I was going skiing. They did not have that car but they “upgraded” me two classes to a luxury wagon without AWd. It worked for this trip but was not what I wanted. Also, the road signs and gps are not clear how to get back to the French side. We almost missed our plane. Found it by accident and not following what the signs would indicate10.0 Wonderful

No windshield washer fluid, was a real problem driving in bad weather on the highway. I guess that's something I assumed would be there. Unfortunately, this is not the first time. Service not nearly as helpful as usual. In the past we have made an effort to rent from Hertz because of the extra effort they have made at this location. This time they made out the whole contract and we were about to sign when we noticed it was 300 € over our reservation price. Had to re-do. Price was already about 50% higher than what we usually pay at this location (Geneva airport, French sector) Also, we seemed to remember always getting snow tires in the winter as part of the standard package. J'ai réservé le véhicule à mon nom. Un ami a pu récupérer le véhicule avant que j'arrive, sans mon permis de conduire, en mettant le sien et sa carte de crédit... Qui serait alors responsable ? Le réservataire, le propriétaire du permis ou celui de la carte ? Aucun effort pour expliquer le système de rachat de franchise, ils préfèrent qu'on rapidement et donc sans. Dans l'ensemble le personnel est assez désagréable... Le tarif annoncé sur le site est sans tax, sans licence...Thrifty

The rental company didn't accept visa debit card. The rental was actually done by hertz. And from my experience hertz is very ridge and not friendly. I who'd prefer to know these things in advance.10.0 Wonderful

The AGNET charged me two security deposites. One valued at 1600 euros which was not even registered in the rental contract. It was really fishy. Also, the agnet tried to rip me off by charging me additional 350 euros for changing the drop off location within the same city. i refused and eventually changed the drop off location at no additional charge.Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Pros:
I rarely rent from Sixt since they came up expensive usually, but I had this great offer and it was not listed as Sixt but rather FLIZZR. The car war new and clean, No issues with picking up the car, very helpful customer service as I had experienced in former encounters with Sixt. Also the customer service representative hinted clearly on all and any pre-conditions (scratches, small dents), which I would have never been able to detect, since the rental place at the Cologne airport is rather a dark parking garage. I was even able to get an automatic for a small additional charge ($5 a day).Cons:
The car, an Opel (Vauxhaul or General Motors), was supposed to be an automatic, but felt like a hybrid manual and had a very strange way to shift. Didn't shift smoothly, but I was stagnantly shifting, at least I did not have to shift manually.9.6 Wonderful
