Pros: We had the most memorable stay at hikka tranz in july 2019. We had made a mistake when booking our dates, but the staff was very concerned and arranged our stay for the required dates, with an upgrade to a luxury suite with a magnificent view. It came in as an amazing surprise, as it as my wife’s birthday. We loved the stay, the food, and the service and everything about the hotel

Pros: Almost every thing the pool area food by the pool side pool attendants the pool bar boys..... over looking the sea l highly recommend Indunill from the main restaurant and Amarakrithe from the pool bar they were very friendly throughout our stay thank you boys .

Cons: A welcome smile from the senior staff restaurant managers and the head waiters would be much appreciated

Pros: Everything was just perfect it was perfect value for money!

Cons: Had to wait in the lobby on our only sunny day there to continually dispute their tries at transferring us to another hotel despite our wishes to stay with this hotel, the hotel we booked 11 days prior and called three hours before to confirm that all was ready. We called three hours in advance only because we had read reviews online that the hotel chain called Cinnamon Hotels which Chaaya Tranz Hikkaduwa is a part of, often over books their locations and tries to excitedly "upgrade" guests to a different hotel, despite their wishes. After continual disputes making our long start at the hotel extremely unpleasant, especially after a long day of travelling, we were finally given a room. After that point, we enjoyed our stay, the beautiful views, the pleasant staff, and beachside.

Pros: Turtles on the public (hikkadiwa) beach was the only reward to stay in this sad hotel. Normal EU continental breakfast.

Cons: An example of how quality of service can destroy your comfort. you will not meet here a sincere smile or concern for the quality of your rest. Here in sri lanka you can find everywhere Care and sincere smile. Don't waste your time and money to stay in this hotel.

Pros: Biggest hotel in town. Nice clean rooms with a lovely balcony. Beautiful pool and ocean view from rooms. A lot of positive things to mention: Super attentive and smiling staff Rooms cleaned daily Coffee and tea facilities in rooms Delicious food in restaurant Huge variations in morning buffet Nice areas for relaxation Sea turtles eating seagrass on shallow water in front of hotel beach every day Big pool area with relaxed atmosphere and plenty of beach beds Very pleasant massages in hotel spa A lot of satellite channels Strong wi-fi Great value for money!

Cons: Would be nice if balcony railings were cleaned for bird and squirrel droppings now and then.

Pros: We absolutely loved our stay here, a beautiful family home. the rooms are large and comfortable, with outside seating areas. comfortable beds and pillows. the pool area is brilliant, really relaxing. Even though we stayed over the new year celebrations and they had family visiting, the owners were still available and very accommodating. Great location close to all amenities etc. Great spot to relax, we ended up staying 3 nights.

Pros: Great swimming pool, beautiful room, very confortable mattress, bathroom good, hot water in the shower. The owners are lovely. I will come back!

Pros: One of the best resorts in Hikkaduwa. Everything is great there - location (quiet place, but close to ocean, stores and restaurants), great garden, swimming pool. Very nice rooms, clean and nice smelling. Friendly and helpful owners and stuff.

Cons: I've stayed one night in this guesthouse and it was more than enough for me. The overall was good till i discovered that I've got stolen my money from my wallet after cleaning the room. I went to complain to the owner and he told me that it is not his responsability... I told them to call the police so they was afraid and they left me go. Few hours later they called me to say that they found my money under the mattress! Please don't go there and be careful. Safe travels

Pros: The staff were great and very helpful, rooms big and clean and there was nice swimming pool. I would stay here again.

Pros: Staff is friendly. They even help to make the BBQ. We had a special requirement to have a triple room and a single room and they have arrange it before we're coming to the hotel. Breakfast also nice with variety of food items in a buffet to choose.

Cons: Don’t advertise that diving and snorkelling are seasonal which is one of the main attractions. Not near as many activities as advertised. Room was way smaller than looked in pictures and we could not see the beach. Food we ordered for dinner was cold and overpriced. Very disappointed with our stay.

Cons: Breakfast ended too soon. By the time we fed the baby they was hardly any food left.

Cons: Towels and sheets very old/worn out. The gym had no towels and looked like it hadn’t been attended by staff for a couple of years. Also no aircon in the gym.

Pros: Rooms are big enough, the pools are amazing, the beach in front of hotel is really amazing for snorkeling, buffet is very good and offers many options/styles of meals.

Pros: Location is great as it’s in front of the beach.

Cons: This is not a 4star hotel. The rooms can use some refreshment as it’s very outdated and need some maintenance. I would never stay here again.

Cons: The rooms need to be upgraded, are a bjt old. I stayed in a deluxe plus room ( no 141) Reception staff very slow to respond to requests for help (with safe). Had to ring multiple times!

Pros: The room was of acceptable standard. The buffet meals were of a good standard. Staff prepared take away breakfast for 13 of us at 5.30am which is appreciated. The staff tried hard to accomodate all requests and were very friendly.

Cons: The property appeared run down and in need of urgent repairs. There was no operating bar. The doors of the rooms are in need of replacement. Most importantly a contractor was using an electric saw, hammering on floors above us creating a massive racket. I complained to the night Manager around 1.30am but the noise continued. My wife and I went down to reception and confronted the contractors around 2am. A person calling himself the architect said that they had almost completed their job and would leave soon. How can the hotel management permit this kind of noise after mid night? Very disappointing. We could not fall asleep after that until we checked out at 5.30 am to go whale watching.

Pros: We stayed here for 3 nights in April 2019, both from the UK. The hotel was undergoing a big renovation at the time, but didn’t impact on our stay. We loved to see the new parts of the hotel, and the potential that it now has. The room we stayed in was brand new (we felt like the first people that stayed there!) lovely comfortable bed with a brand new bathroom. The rooms looked exactly like they do in the photographs - modern, clean and spacious. We Loved having a pool that overlooked the beach, one of the reasons that we chose the hotel. The staff were all wonderful and made sure we had a wonderful stay. The chef and kitchen staff were very accommodating of our dietary needs and went out of their way to make some great breakfasts for us

Cons: There wasn’t anything that we didn’t like, but a couple of tips for the hotel to make it an even better stay. - a little information pack in the room with information about the hotel (meal times etc), services and things to do in the local area - a little soap dish and bin in the bathroom - hand dryers in the communal toilets - new/more sun beds by the pool

Pros: Basic hotel

Cons: Middle of the night they were doing renovations to the rooms upstairs, Loud noises and we complained still it continued for some time. Did not even have a phone in the rooms to call the reception, we had to go down twice at 1.30 am to complain about the noise. We booked 6 rooms , 3 triple and 3 doble. We cancelled 1 room as two persons could not make it. My husband booked the others through booking.com

Pros: Specious rooms with balcony facing ocean. Super clean Direct Access to beach. Equipped with all facilities Facing main road. Restaurants and food options near by (P&S)

Cons: Check in took around 45 minutes since they could not find the booking. No land phone extensions available in rooms to contact reception Tea making facilities were available but all creamers were expired 5 days back.

Cons: This hotel is a rip off - very bad value for money. For what we were paying, the rooms weren't great (cockroaches in the bathroom, awful view from the room). The hotel is poorly constructed and looks like a building site. Although the beach is right outside, the hotel is a bit of a walk from all beach bars and restaurants.

Cons: Hello Sir/Madam, We have been using booking.com for our trip booking from long period of time and this time the experience we had with on of our hotel was very bad. We booked 4 rooms . When we reached their the renovation was going on in the hotel. Because of the renovation  most of their utilities were either not working or continuously interrupted. They provide us the rooms on 4th floor while their lifts were not working. TV and intercom was also not working. The electricity was also getting interrupted whole time because of renovation by that the AC and other utilities were not operating. As intercom was not operating we can not communicate with any of the team members or staff so we have to go up and down 3 floors all times. I would like to get our money back for this reservation.
