Overview

In the small Norfolk village of Dersingham, only a mile (1.6 km) from the Royal Sandringham Estate, this former coaching inn offers en suite rooms, free Wi-Fi, a restaurant and 3 bars. Built from local carrstone, The Feathers is steeped in royal history. In 1882, the hotel was purchased as part of the Sandringham estate for Albert Edward, Prince of Wales. The rooms are individually decorated in a simple country house style and each has a TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel’s main Sandringham bar is pet-friendly and has a large open fire and leads out onto a patio and 2 large gardens. The first garden has plenty of seating and a children’s play area. The second garden offers a quiet relaxed environment for adults. There is plenty of free on-site parking for guests.

Guests consistently praised the hotel's friendly and helpful staff, its peaceful and convenient location—especially for visiting Sandringham—and the quality of the breakfast. Many found the atmosphere welcoming and the property charming, with some appreciating the value for price and unique character. However, a number of reviews mentioned issues with cleanliness in certain rooms, small or uncomfortable beds, and some maintenance concerns.
