8.0 Very Good
Hotel is in goot shape, but shows some age. Rooms are small, London style. Location directly at the foot of Tower Bridge is brilliant.
P
6.0 Okay
We liked the location and breakfast. The room though was too hot 25 C and the faucet leaked all night. Staff were fine but mostly not good english speakers, so communication was a little tough both ways, I couldn’t understand them very well and visa versa. When I told them of the problem with the room temperature the person just gave excuses rather than a promise to check and fix the issue.
S
2.0 Poor
The location is incredible, but had a perhaps led to complacency. The room was very tired, albeit with an amazing view of the river: furniture was damaged, bathroom had mildew and thin, worn towels. Service in the outdoors bar was really slow, with us needing to remind the staff several times that we had actually placed a drinks order, getting the reply “oh yeah - hang on”. But we had a great location for a well-needed break, and looked forward to a lie in… However, we were woken at about 7:30am by, what I initially thought was a hairdryer, but as it went on….and on….and on, it turned out to be a drill. Then the hammering came, and splintering wood, as all the rooms around us were having their door frames ripped out! We totally understand the need for refurbishment (see comments above!) but we had no heads up or warning, and I’d suggest early morning isn’t the best time! We did mention this to the reception manager, who didn’t seem to know any work was planned. He promised to follow up, and I subsequently emailed the management team too, but haven’t heard a word back. All in all, very disappointing and I’d suggest staying at the nearby Novotel or Doubletree Hilton instead.

10.0 Wonderful
Pros:The location of this hotel is unbelievable! It literally sits right on the Thames river, and the view of the Tower bridge is stunning!! Not to mention it’s incredibly beautiful on the inside, it has fantastic amenities and the restaurant inside is wonderful! It’s also a very simple walk across the bridge to the other side to get to the Tower of London and a plethora of other restaurants and shopping venues. The cost was incredibly low for what type of hotel this is, and I will absolutely recommend anyone to stay here for a gorgeous and accessible view of London!!
Cons:The parking garage is relatively small, so if you’re driving in your own car on the weekend, be aware. We had a hard time parking.
A
6.0 Okay
Pros:Staff friendly
Cons:Noise from wedding music way after midnight. Slow check in and check out
R
10.0 Wonderful
Pros:I began laughing and celebrating my good fortune the minute I opened the door to my room at the Tower Hotel. The wall opposite the door had a large picture window with the most incredible view of the wharf and Tower Bridge! I couldn’t believe how wonderful the location of this hotel was and how nice my room was. A short walk to the bridge itself, the Tower of London was next door. A short walk to the Tube station and a sightseeing boat that boards in front of the hotel. Friendly, competent hotel staff and a comfy room. You’d think it would be noisy so close to the bridge, but not a problem. Good blackout curtains too! Great stay!
Cons:Hotel breakfast was fine, but there are also good options on St. Katherine’s Docks just behind the hotel. There is also a Tesco store and a Starbucks for even more options. Both are within the block of the hotel.
