Pros: This is very good location to stay at Miyajima. Host is very cooperative and very helpful. We enjoyed overnight stay. Very good to stay with family & friends.
Cons: We checked in bit late. All the surrounding restaurants were also not available that time. They have keep raw material in paid basis. That's nicely works . Thanks to Miyajima.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staffs were very friendly and helpful. They speaks English too which is great for foreigners.
Excellent 10.0
Beautiful guesthouse with a lovely garden. Clean and practical. Very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was available at no cost and a paid pantry is very useful.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything was clean and tidy. The location is right next to the Momijdani Park. Junya and Mika were fantastic hosts! Wish we’ve chatted more!
Cons: N/A
Excellent 9.0
Pros: This little guest house is a gem. With staff who speak very good English and a small kitchen where you can make your own hot drinks and eat cereal (provided by the guest house), the whole set up is easy for foreign travellers to relax in. You can also book your own private time in the hot bath, so no need to share with other people.
Cons: Nothing in particular.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything! The manager is very nice and helpful, the location is amazing and the facilities are clean and beautiful. We had a great time and we'll definitely stay here once we return
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Amazing space, design and very comfortable tatami room with view in the garden. The owner was really kind and pleasant. Very good location for walking around.
Cons: Only two shared shower rooms. It was not a problem for me since the place was quite empty.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Location is amazing and overall facilities
Cons: Breakfast was not the best
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Our stay at Iwaso was magical! We were treated so kindly by all of the staff. Everything from our pick up at the ferry terminal, the amazing dinner that evening and kindly keeping our suitcase while we explored the mountain the next day then making sure we had a ride back to the ferry when we left. Such a beautiful location.
Cons: Nothing, our room was so spacious and clean. Easy walk to the tram to the mountain or to explore the shopping area.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The breakfast and dinner were phenomenal. Served in room each dish was better than the last. The location was very central to all of the parks and shrines. Staff was phenomenal. The photos on the internet do not do the onsens justice. Each onsen was very clean and relaxing!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The venue and onsen were gorgeous. I was especially happy with the indoor and open air baths. It was great to try both sides of the onsens (they switch the men and women sides the next day). The staff spoke English and were very welcoming. They took the time to explain the scheduling for meals, they explained what was being served, and how to stay at a ryokan which was great for me since it was my first time trying it. From the ryokan all of miyajima’s sites are easily accessible. The staff also sends a free shuttle to pick you up at the ferry and they also hold your luggage once you check out.
Cons: The only small complaint was it was but hot in the room but it was easily solved by opening the window and turning off the heater.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The location, in Miyajima’s Momijidani (“maple leaf valley”), cannot be beat. The bilingual staff were unfailingly kind and went out of their way to assist us: be sure to take advantage of their shuttle or their offer to transport your luggage to the ferry terminal so you don’t have to drag it to the boats yourself. The onsen baths were beautiful (though a tad small), and breakfast was healthy and served in ample portions.
Cons: The shinkan (new wing) rooms lack the aesthetic charm of the original building; carpets seem faded and the dining room needs a reworking in my opinion.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Personalized welcome, special care, delicious dinner, exquisite and quiet onsen. The location is ideal to explore the island for a few days.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent location. The Onsen was perfectly located where you could hear the creek and see the lush trees. I had 5th floor corner room, so on one side I had lush beautiful trees and on the other side was a view of the ocean and temples. The Japanese breakfast and dinner were exceptional. I would suggest one or the other. I was too full from dinner to enjoy my breakfast. I ended up just having breakfast. Loved my stay!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Beautiful architecture and grounds. View was impeccable!
Cons: Room was very small
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Near the market and the shrine in walking distance Lovely place Very nice staff

Excellent 10.0
Pros: How accommodating they were! We were almost 2 hours late for dinner, and they still served it to us beautifully, with a smile!
Cons: Just a little had to get to, but that's because we tried to get their on our own! They will gladly pick you up at the ferry station! Let them do it!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff were so helpful . The evening meal was spectacular
Cons: Nil bad to say
Excellent 10.0
Pros: A wonderful Japanese experience all round. Beautiful spacious room with fantastic view. The private outdoor Onsen under the stars with the view of the temple was amazing. The traditional food was delicious. Staff were excellent, very kind and helpful.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Lovely staff, very attentive friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Cons: It’s dated, and needs some investment, but that also gives it its charm
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Views from hotel, friendly staff
Cons: Would’ve helped if we had earlier breakfast options
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The place was absolutely beautiful. When we arrived at the JR Ferry terminal, we asked the information desk. They called the hotel and we waited 10 minutes to be picked up. The driver pointed out the places of interest as we were driven to the hotel. We were able to walk back the following day sight seeing as we returned to the ferry.
Cons: We wished we stayed more than one night.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Delicious breakfast and clean and wide room. With nice onsen.
Cons: Nothing, it is ok for me.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Dinner was excellent full of seafood including "sashimi", oyster, mixed steamed rice, and so on. The room was a combination of Japanese and western-style and quite comfortable. Breakfast was Japanese-style "washoku" various stuff and delicious.
Cons: The location was a little bit far from the jetty and it took a while to reach the "Ryokan" hotel. But on the other hand, it was quite silent.
Excellent 10.0
Room was nice and clean, for sure we will coming back at this hotel again . Recommend!!!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Loved the staff. They were so friendly. The hotel was very pretty inside. Definitely upscale from how it looks outside.
Cons: The uncomfortable beds. They were hard.
Excellent 10.0
Hospitality was wonderful.
Excellent 10.0
The over expected facilities are... 1. Free shuttle bus to Pier 2. Complimentary upgrade to big room 3. Free night tour The hotel is at the heart of sightseeing spot. There are plenty of staff to take care all the time. Real full service hotel.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great location, a bit tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Omotesando Street, but still close enough to reach in a few minutes on foot. We were upgraded to a room with a tatami area - nice! Very spacious room, nice view, and everything else we needed. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here!
Cons: NA
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Incredible hospitality the entire time!!
Cons: Nothing, we loved the stay !!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I was impressed with everything about this hotel: the clean and spacious facilities, the amazing staff, the numerous amenities and the exquisite food - do order your dinner in advance, it’s worth it!
Cons: Nothing!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very kind and nice staff! thank you very much!
Excellent 9.6
Great staff & service - took the trouble to pick my elderly mom from the shopping street. Dinner was fantastic. Onsen was marvelous!
Good 6.0
Pros: Attentive staff from the pier pickup to drop off at departure.
Cons: Breakfast could have been better. Now sure why they offered us western breakfast. Surly I wasn’t asked or a choice was offered.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff was AMAZING and very foreigner friendly. the location is right near Momijidani park and an easy walk to everything. The hotel provides a shuttle and luggage delivery to the ferry terminal. We had a Japanese style room and they even come and set up the futons for us! The breakfast was delicious as well. We didn’t book the dinner but wish we had!
Cons: Its not really the property’s fault but travelers should be aware that EVERYTHING closes at either 5PM or 6PM so there is literally nothing to do after that. Not even restaurants or anything are open. I didn’t realize this and really regretted not reserving the dinner but I don’t remember seeing the option on Booking. The did have snacks and cup noodles for purchase in the lobby though so we had our light night cravings satisfied!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: They had an ashi-yu (foot bath) which was extremely inviting after a long day of hiking. The room was adequate sized for one person, but keep in mind they did have bigger rooms, I was traveling alone. The bath was nice and they had a rotemburo (outside bath), there was a QR code which let you know how many people were in the bathing area. Also, I had accidentally thrown my ferry ticket in the trash, I came back about 30 minutes later to ask if they had cleaned up my room. They had, but the gentleman at reception, after me insisting it was ok proceeded to look through the trash and found it. Above and beyond staff!
Excellent 10.0
Staff treated us like we were special. Really enjoyed the stay. Just be aware that the room I had did not have shower or bath. However the onsen was available. So, all was well.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Very friendly service. Offered to pick me up as the hotel is at the top of a small hill. Nice hot springs baths. Dinner and breakfast are available if you want.
Cons: I could hear the guy next to me coming in and out, slamming his door and talking on the phone. I could hear him snoring early in the morning too.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Classic, sleek & clean
Good 6.0
Pros: The hot foot bath just outside the hotel was great especially since it was snowing. They staff was very kind and polite. We appreciated the Japanese style breakfast.
Cons: The size of the room was much smaller than we thought or what we saw on-line. When we booked the room, we included that our 5-year son would be with us but the reservation only listed 2 adults so the hotel charged us extra when they saw him. There is no kids meal for breakfast and we paid full price for our child.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The public bath
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The manager of the hotel (Hiroshi Matsumoto San) was super friendly and helpful. He personally picked us up from the ferry station and then even courteously offered to drive us to restaurants for dinner. He made some good recommendations for dinner even ones catering to our vegetarian needs. The hotel has an amazing outdoor and indoor Onsen, not to mention a free foot bath at the entrance. There are different pattern yukatas you can borrow from the front desk area. We had a normal room with an ensuite toilet but no ensuite bathroom. Our friends booked a traditional Japanese room (tatami mat) that had an ensuite bathroom as well. Both rooms were clean and the next time I come here, I will try the Japanese room. The place is walking distance to all the main attractions of the island like the ropeway to Mt. Misen. The staff are very accommodating, helpful and speak good English as well.
Cons: It was not a big issue but our room didn’t come with an ensuite bathroom. The staff were very accommodating and told us they could switch our room to another room with an ensuite bathroom. We decided not to switch as we were intent on utilizing their wonderful onsen.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The location is great: next to the bridge and river, u can see the Iwakuni Castle as well. Free parking. Friendly staff. Japanese traditional breakfast. Outside onsen and free towels.
Cons: The building is realy old. If you are looking for smth modern and new, that’s not for u. But for a local experience, it’s ok.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The first time I saw it on the booking site, I already get hook by this hotel. It is good as it gets and I love how I was welcome by the reception of this hotel. They had brought all my stuff in my room prior to my actual check in. They facilitated my taxi airport transfer without a glitch. Room - It is super capacious and I could roam around. It has all the amenities that I need. Onsen - You must try their onsen at the hotel. The view is superb especially at night. Meal - I had dinner and breakfast here. The washoku breakfast is really fantastic and I LOVE IT! Staff - Of all the hotels I stayed during my trip. Iwakuni Kokusai had exceeded them all. Truly, I had experience the omotenashi Japanese customer experience on this hotel. DOMO ARIGATOU GOZAIMASHITA!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: amazing food amazing staff the onsen is superb - beautiful view from the onsen to iwakuni castle will come again
Cons: nothing to complain
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Renovated and friendly, with beautiful views on the bridge and the castle
Cons: I liked the staff’s kindness, the views of the bridge snd the castle, the renovated room
Excellent 10.0
Pros: They’re super friendly and very nice..
Cons: Nothing
Okay 5.0
Pros: The breakfast is good..
Cons: The room is outdated..
Okay 5.0
Pros: I came to see the bridge and the location of this hotel to the bridge is excellent. The staff upon arrival are also very pleasant and welcoming. There are several restaurants and a shop in the hotel.
Cons: The hotel feels as if it is trying to be a luxurious hotel. The foyer and price tag suggested that, but the room felt like the staff quarters. The room smelt like cigarettes although I asked for a non-smoking room. I didn't realize hotel rooms could get so small. The bed was not overly pleasant. I didn't enjoy my breakfast. In the Covid world, this hotel didn't do a buffet but didn't offer any choice of breakfast. One size fits all. It was edible. I didn't enjoy my stay.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The staff were sooo kind and thoughtful, the hot springs were wonderful, the breakfast very good, and the location a minute from the bus stop and main attractions.
Cons: I couldn't have afforded it without the discount price offered.
Excellent 9.2
Check-in lady staff was very polite and professional, speaks fairly good English. Location was great, a short (but expensive) TAXI ride from Iwakuni Shinkansen Station, please take a public bus if you are on a budget. Room and hotel is old but very clean. Very nice amenities in the room. VERY nice onsen bath facilities both indoor and outdoor. Outdoor bath can see the beautiful Kintaikyo (bridge). Outdoor bath is quite big. Will definitely stay here again if visit this place again.
Excellent 8.4

Pros: very friendly staff the room is nice and the restaurant downstairs is ok
Cons: nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very quaint.
Cons: Can’t think of anything we didn’t like.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Misty Mountain Views from the bedroom Windows.
Cons: Very low level of English, so communication was a struggle. Location was a 5-7mins Taxi ride costing about 1200 to 1500 yen, about USD12 to USD15. Absolutely impossible to walk to hotel , as Hotel was really deep into the countryside (inaka ). Feels quite scary and eerie at night.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Room was very spacious and the view was breathtaking.. breakfast was good and we liked the private onsen we booked for family :)
Cons: it was perfect.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Fantastic beautiful views on seaside room, wonderful amenities for a reasonable price. The manger was excellent in customer service. And helped me out with a pool reservation situation, I never felt unwelcomed as a foreigner. Most of the staff was great in. This matter. Transportation to and from the train station was great. The yukata fits all sizes, and was great to roam about the property freely with no prejudice.
Cons: The room was outdated and dingy, the wallpaper was cracking, the bathroom had mold ,clearly not a renovated room. Most of the floors were not occupied, yet for some reason all the foreigners were on the same floor. I paid for 2 nights with breakfast, but only one breakfast ticket was given, but I was charged for both.
Okay 4.0
Pros: The hotel was beautiful and the staff very attentive. Rooms were large. The silkwood top and from the train station.
Cons: The unfortunate policy for the pool. The lack of food options for Westerners. They said English was a language they could speak but it was very limited.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Open air terrace was pleasant.
Cons: Weather was nice so it was pity that the outside pool was still closed.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: It was wonderful!! The view from the room and the atmosphere and cleanliness were so peaceful. I was very comforted and please with the measures they took against Corona - some services were cancelled, and temperature etc was taken. The staff were incredible!! They used English for me as much as possible, they accommodated my dietary requirements (halal), the lobby staff immediately responded to and helped with all my questions and queries, and the waiter at breakfast was lovely - shout out to the Bangladeshi waiter!! Very kind!! I want to stay here again! The food was very good, free refills on rice and miso soup with the Japanese style breakfast. The shuttle bus driver between the hotel and the station was also very nice - offered me a timetable print (though I wasn't returning to the hotel). The hotel onsen was hands down the nicest hotel onsen I've stayed in - so spacious and very nice decoration. Not much variation in bath temperatures, but I don't mind that. I went to both baths, and was the only one there. I stayed the day before the new state of emergency came into effect (today) and was very impressed with the staff/what amenities were still running. Thank you!
Cons: There weren't any usb charging ports in the room, and only one free plug socket. (But they did provide one when I asked at the desk) There wasn't an insect-protector screen in the balcony door/window. I chanced it and had it open for the beautiful air and view...instant regret as night fell and my room was FULL of mosquitoes... (So I guess, also that there was no method of insect repellent? Like a spray or a coil or incense) It wasn't clearly written what amenities were cancelled due to Corona, neither on the website nor around the hotel, in Japanese nor English (but they were very nice at the front desk when I asked!)
Okay 5.0
Pros: Balcony Location Staff are nice and friendly and polite very respectful.
Cons: Pillows are not comfortable. Elevator is not safe enough when closes. Needs to renovation. No electric sockets near bed. Air conditioner cannot be controlled. Tv size is smalll. Radio was not working.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Cleanliness and a friendly staff
Cons: Nothing
Good 6.8
I hope the Hotel room can provide disposable spoons because the ice cream bought do not pack with teaspoons
Excellent 8.8
Lovely hotel, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful room, however, a bit overpriced.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff we’re very kind.
Cons: The peaceful ambiance and the staff
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The room was really nice traditional japanese style. The futon etc. was comfortable and we felt so moody in this amazing town. The location is also really nice. The staff took us from the ferry station by car, after settled we immediately started exploring around since its just out of the door. There is a small onsen also, clean. The staffs were also kind and helpful. We liked almost everything. There are almost no market in the town, and around there is no place you can buy something but luckly in the hotel, there is a small corner that you can find some snacks and noodle etc. But just be prepared even so, saying in advance.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: It is very convenient, very close to Miyajima Public Aquarium.
Cons: There are vending machine and coffe machine. Unfortunately this hotel does not provide a microwave for visitors.
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: Staff did their best
Cons: Bed as hard as a stone Old, tired room and building No choice of food, just take it or leave it
Excellent 8.0
We stayed in the Japanese Style Room, it was good and comfortable. The hotel is located next to the aquarium which is convenient but it is a little ways away from the pier and there is no “real” parking lot nearby for the hotel. If it’s not busy you can park in the parks behind or in front of the hotel.
Excellent 9.2
The place is a bit far from the tourist attractions compared to other accommodations but Miyajima is such a small island anyway it doesn't really matter. I like the fact that it's far away from the tourist attractions so you can get a good rest and break away from the crowd
Excellent 9.2
The place is a bit far to where the touristy places are but Miyajima isn't that big so it's fine. I like the fact that it's a bit far from the touristy places so you get a more feel of the nature and have a much more relaxed environment.
Good 7.0
Pros: Very clean and well kept facility. Staff was great and accommodating.
Cons: Underestimated Traditional Japanese room challenges. Must pre order dinner or breakfast, can’t buy on site. Location was further from center of town and shopping than expected.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The staff were very kind and the hotel was just right for a few quiet days
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Our bedroom had an amazing view. Both dinner and breakfast were very good and not expensive considering it's traditional japanese meals. The location of the hotel is a bit outside of the town center but it is very beautiful, surrounded by wild deers, has a direct access to a hiking trail and is only a 10 minute walk to the temple!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Reception were so kind and wonderful from the lovely man on check in to the wonderful women on check out we cannot fault it! , beautiful onsen, wonderful housekeeping staff, 10 out of 10 clean rooms, attention to detail, free shuttle to and from the ferry by the kind members of staff. Seriously visiting this island and staying here was a dream come true thank you so much to everyone who was so kind to us your staff are an asset to you and we will definitely be back! ❤️😍

Excellent 9.0
Pros: location is great
Cons: Parking
Good 7.0
Pros: clean and relaxing
Cons: the rooms are very nice.
Excellent 9.2
Great location in the heart of downtown Iwakuni, clean rooms, friendly staff and great breakfast buffet. Parking is a bit tricky but close enough and hotel voucher available.
Okay 4.4
The hotel is basic as and literally shouldn't cost this much. It's because it's close to an american base. The non-smoking floors have no smoke but an elevator smells like smoke 9/10 times. But it's one of the few "good" ones locally, cos all the local hotels are bad yet very expensive.
Excellent 8.8
A hotel you can rely upon . Always helpful staff and clean rooms. Although the rooms are clean, they should probably undergo an upgrade in a year or two.

The view from our spacious room looking into the Kintai Bridge was wonderful. Meals were delicious and beautifully presented. Loved the well cared for garden with the large koi fish. A memorable stay

Pros: Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is included featuring Japanese dishes. Neighboring the Hotel is a coin operated laundromat, a convenience store (like 7-11), and ramen/gyoza cafe. Free parking and immediate access to highway 2. Room is tiny by American standards but very clean. Bathroom has a deep soaking tub. Liquid soap and shampoo are provided as well as toothbrush and paste and disposable razor. Water boiler for tea or instant coffee is also in the room. LCD TV shows local broadcast.
Cons: The only problem I had was connecting to the internet. It is Not WiFi nor USB. It is LAN connection so if you want to us your laptop you will need a LAN to USB converter. Also, if you have never used your email accounts in Japan you may have trouble logging in unless you have a way to verify your account. I finally managed to get mine working by using my mobile phone number to get a verification code texted to me.
