Views from the room... just stunning. Entrance / court yard is a gorgeous outdoor space to take in the atmosphere of New York.
Bar prices are very expensive.
Location is great for all the Midtown attractions. Just a block from 5th Ave and the Rockefeller Centre. Hotel was beautifully decorated for the festive season.
Beds quite small in standard rooms, and extras are expensive.
They need to upgrade rooms, hotel is getting old need to renovate ASAP
The bed was comfortable. The service was great
Staff- accommodation
The staff adjusted an error in the hotels reservation immediately, at check in. Carol OConner recognized the issue and made the adjustment in a way that thoughtful and professional.
It was my first time in New York and the location could not be more ideal. The hotel was central to all of the main attractions. We stayed around Thanksgiving and all of the holiday decor were already stunningly displayed. A lot of tourists stopped by the outside courtyard, which is quite the photo opportunity. Inside the lobby, they hosted a "happy hour" during the weekdays around 5pm which consisted of small bites - all delicious and inclusive with your stay. My boyfriend had to work during our visit and a shuttle was provided to the financial district. The staff were excellent and very friendly.
We had a bit of a situation where we found rotten food in our mini fridge leftover from previous guests. The manager was very accommodating and provided great customer service. The only other negatives were that the internet was not included with your stay and the bellman/greeters stood by the door but did not open the doors for you which I found a bit odd.
Front desk personnel was very professional and nice. She tried to accommodate all our request.

I may never use Kayak again. You cost me hundreds of dollars.
The hotel never had my reservation so whatever I booked through Kayak/getaroom was bogus. The hotel could not meet the rate so I was stuck paying hundreds of dollars more. Your service almost left me with no rooom for my trip. This is totally unacceptable and I deserve compensation for this.
Fantastic Staff
My wife and I stayed at the Palace many years ago and this stay was the first under Lotte's ownership. It's a big hotel, so it lacked the intimacy of some place like the Lowell Carlyle or the Plaza Athenee. That said, it's considerably less expensive, unless you are in the Towers. What I found remarkable was the consistency of staff attitude. Friendly, appropriately personal, attentive, and helpful.
$50 for a simple breakfast (farro porridge with fruit, coffee, and a freshly made vegetable juice, was a new high (or low, depending on how you look at it) for New York. Delicious for sure, but pricey.
Great hotel!
Beautiful hotel, incredible view and far enough away from the craziness of Times Square but a pretty easy walk to wherever you want to go. I was skeptical because of the deal we got on hotels.com but it was an awesome spot!
No closet in the hotel room.
Wonderful hotel and location
Decor, location, cleanliness

Absolutely beautiful hotel in a great location! Loved my stay there!!
Charging 16.00 per day for wifi is insane
