The first 2 days of our holiday were fantastic. The hotel we could not fault and all of the staff went out of their way to treat us wonderfully well. We were impressed with all the facilities, both in the hotel and in Playa Blanca. Our rooms were beautifully situated and very comfortable. We also loved eating in the hotel restaurant and enjoyed the buffet restaurant for breakfast.
After 2 days of our holiday the unfortunate lockdown situation began, which we know is not the hotel's fault at all. However, it disappointed us greatly that the facilities at the hotel could not be kept up: we were unable to use the gym and found it very difficult to book into either of restaurants. Bearing in mind we are all in our 80s, the buffet was not really suitable for us on an evening and we would have liked to have been waited on each evening. However, we realise that this was an unprecedented situation and not the hotel's fault at all, we were just unlucky. We ended up having to leave the hotel on the Thursday, which was 3 days earlier than expected, as our return flight was cancelled and we had to book an alternative rescue flight. We paid the hotel in full on arrival so we are very much hoping that our last 3 nights will be refunded to us. We have tried to get in touch with the hotel to ask this but so far have not had a reply.
Location, wonderful staff. We were on a 10 day trip.3 days into the trip all of Spain went on lockdown with tourists confined to their hotels. The staff at the Volcan kept us informed of the unfolding situation and of how further restrictions were being imposed day by day. They did everything they could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible
Lanzarote is breezy. I think more could be done to create sheltered areas for sitting out. Also the food on the buffet was uninspiring and a bit tasteless. It all needed more seasoning. Porridge was liquid. There is a happy medium between rock solid and runny. Somebody just needs to talk to the chef
Work being undertaken but was upgraded so was ok
Great staff, efficient but friendly. Gabby did a super job with the evening entertainment, Reception were always helpful, whilst Mercedes & colleagues in the buffet restaurant made us feel at home. The buffet at breakfast & dinner was simply fantastic, literally something for everyone and regularly changed. I don't think I ate the same meal twice in a week. Our room was everything we asked for, with a sea view & a balcony to sit in whilst we enjoyed the sunsets. Enormous beds, well equipped bathroom (with separate toilet) and a seating area. We'd been to Marina Rubicon before, so knew the location would be perfect for us - and it was. Just a two minute walk down to the marina in the evening for a stroll round and then back to the Volcan's evening entertainment suited us fine.
Hard to think if anything really.
