9.6 Excellent
Pros: good and kindly service, free pick up from train station or Airport.
Cons: Breakfast could have a mix between Asian and European stile.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: After having waited for hours for the staff to show up, we had to show the pictures of the room they had given us which was nothing like the ones shown on booking. The hotel was empty during low season and we received the worst room of the hotel which shouldn’t be a room. But after complaining they give us another. Far the only positive point of what I can think of
Cons: The room was nothing compared to the pictures. The staff doesn’t speak English. The hotel was empty, no way to reach the staff. I had to wait for 2 hours in the lobby. The breakfast on the pictures looked amazing. In reality it was disgusting. The only thing which looked surprising was caviar on toast. When I tried it, the butter had expired... disgusting. The hotel should be closed. Not worth the money. Luxury house hotel is a far better option. We moved there after this first horrible experience.
7.5 Good
Pros: kindly and good english speaking stuff on reception, very helpfully.
Cons: Our room was i the first night not really prepared, no linen on blankets but they have fixed on next cleaning.
7.0 Good
Pros: great hotel
Cons: nothing
4.2 Okay
Pros: Location is good as famous Samarkand restaurant is nearby.
Cons: Rooms are untidy ,bathroom had very bad smell as they had some drainage problem due to which it was difficult for us to sleep.Carpets are very dirty.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, friendly stuff, good location.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Staff are ok , depends , I really liked khorshid , he was nice
Cons: Poor breakfast , toilet leaking , always water on toilet floor
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good location, shops and cafes around.
Cons: Instead of triple room which I had booked we were offered a twin room. The electronic room key never worked and I had to go to reception every time when trying to open my room door. I wasn't happy to discover someone's old sandwich in my mini fridge either.
7.1 Good
Pros: I wish the property was wheelchair accessible as my mother had to climb till second floor. She is on a wheel chair and it was very hard to go up the stairs. I wish we had better idea of how the rooms would be located and if there are stairs. We wanted to cancel the rooms but could not. In the end we had no choice but to stay in the rooms. Two were twin as they had no double rooms available for us couples which was also a bit of a let down. Beds were too hard to sleep on. The owner’s son spoke fluent English which was the only plus point and he helped us a lot in calling taxis and guiding us when needed.
Cons: It was not suitable for my mother who was in a wheelchair but since we could not cancel so we had to stay in the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good servis by qhurshed. He was very kind, every thing we askd he gave us with very big smile.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: A well-decorated, cosy hostel, conveniently located a few steps away from Gur e Emir (very handy when getting a taxi because drivers in Samarkand don’t have a great knowledge of the city)
Cons: Toilet didn’t flush properly.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was comfy and wifi worked well. Breakfast was tasty and large. Staff were helpful. Well located beside Gur e Amir.
Cons: The breakfast courtyard had a lot of flies! Tour prices to Shakrisabz were very high, as was the cost of the taxi arranged to the train station.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: It's winter now so many places are doing work on their facilities. So I was able to forgive the mess.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Super central location right in the heart of the old town and close to the new parts of Samarkand. The internet connection was reasonable as was breakfast, which is cooked on order (eggs/porridge/rice pudding) and served in the courtyard. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, it was good value and the location was superb.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location The room is clean and the bathroom is good Hotel employees speak English
Cons: There is none
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Near to Emir monument but we have to walk quite far to other attractions like Registance square, Bibi and Shah i zinda.
Cons: There is no kettle in the room. We need to ask for hot water from their kitchen. We think the heater not well functioning on our first night. It is stop in middle of the night. Very cold! But it normal on the second night.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff are very helpful. They even provide 2-way transport to and from the train station for free.
Cons: The hotel only accepts cash no credit card facility. I didn't check the hotel's payment policy before hand but thankfully I had enough cash with me. The hotel accepts US dollar too.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel with beautiful and comfortable rooms. Very good A/C, comfortable bed. Good shower. Staff were wonderful - could not have been more helpful in every way.
Cons: Breakfast could have been a little more varied but it was sufficient. The hotel is a good walk from the Registan but they will pay a taxi to take you there
5.4 Okay
Pros: Brilliant breakfast. Lots of local places around the hotel for dinner. Nice quiet area (for Samarkand).
Cons: I've got to say, the room was pretty crappy, and the bed was the worst I have ever slept in (and I've stayed at a lot of hotels) with a huge divot right down the center of the mattress. I realise that hotels often have sub-standard rooms which are let out at lower rates, but I paid USD50 a night for a room matching photos on tripadvisor, and the room I got was nothing like these. It was located down in the basement with a couple of very small high windows (no view), a toilet that ran water the whole time and THAT mattress. Other than these issues it's a nice hotel and if you're lucky enough to get a standard room then good for you, otherwise very poor value for money in my opinion. It's on the tour group circuit so things do get busy at breakfast, and quite a hike from the star attractions of Samarkand.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The warm welcoming attitude of staff, comfort level of room and very convinient location. The friendly staff was very professional in attending my needs and guiding me about the places I wanted to visit. The pick up and drop off at the train station was a great help.
Cons: No toasts at breakfast but that was not a big deal. There were other equally good traditional breads.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It would be better to them to have visa card system
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful stuff. New and comfortable rooms.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good bathrooms
Cons: Bed are rock hard
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Head of desk very helpful. Great value for money
Cons: All good
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We really liked this hotel. Our room was large, modern, cheerful. The bathroom was spacious and well equipped. The breakfast room was large and pleasant. Several things made this hotel stand out: 1) the lovely fountain courtyard with tapchans; 2) the lobby bar; 3) the complimentary welcome drinks on arrival; and 4) the complimentary shuttle/taxi service to/from the train station and to the Registan or any other historic site in the city once a day.
Cons: The location is a little far if you like to walk to the main sights. Blackout curtains would have been nice in the room. At 6:30 am, sunlight made it impossible to sleep any longer. In the breakfast buffet, food items were replenished slowly as was the supply of plates and cups, so a bit of waiting was involved. Just a little more attention is needed to ensure there are adequate supplies of food and utensils for all guests throughout the entire breakfast time.

Cons: -
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The Facilities, Cleanness and the staff are very co-operative but the Food not too good. Location also a little far from the City Center. Please improve food standards and this is a real good Hotel. Worth your money for sure. Wifi Needs an update too :)
Cons: Food needs improvement and also the Wifi needs a massive upgrade.

Pros: Great rooms, very neat and clean. Room service was great.
Cons: The hotel itself is very nice and comfortable but the location is a little outside the city centre.

Pros: Very clean, good and polite personal!
Cons: Hotel was closed at night. We returned from marriage party at night and needed wait 20 min. Reception man slept.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect, very close to attractions. The personnel is very friendly, I was speaking Russian to them, therefore have no idea if they speak any English. The breakfast was alright, we were leaving very early in the morning, but the staff gave us a breakfast bag to take with.
Cons: We travelled in winter and there were not too many tourists in the house (if any except us) so the heating was off, but we had our own radiator in the room which was enough to keep the room warm after being on for a few hours, although the toilet was very cold to be in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were helpful with any questions and were very kind. Offered me tea plenty of times. Location is definitely great, a few mins walk to the Registan, which is helpful even at night when u want to see the light show at the Registan.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely old-style hotel with a good atmosphere and a nice roof terrace. The owner was very welcoming. (By the way, bring with you clean dollar or euro bills, not British pounds.)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are very friendly and keen to help out. The location is excellent for Registan and many sights of Samarkand.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location is great, nice courtyard
Cons: Small room, if the weather is cold and rainy that‘s the only place to stay is the small room, owner was not accommodating
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Guest house with lovely decoration and nice structure like tree house. Convenient to Registan Square. The owner was kind and gave me a lot of breakfast at the early morning checkout.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is small with excellent facilities. Breakfast was very good, much better than what I had in other similar hotels! The manager is very helpful and goes out of his way to make sure that his guests are comfortable.
Cons: Nothing
7.1 Good
Pros: Great location. Beautiful place with nice seating areas in the courtyard. Private bathroom was all fine, floor heating was excellent! Breakfast was plentiful.
Cons: The mattresses were extremely soft. Upon our request they changed the worst mattress (after telling us that this is just normal), which helped a bit but the main problem was the bottom mattress which seemed to be stuck to the bed? There was a constant gasoline smell in the courtyard. We slept in a room downstairs which was quite noisy in the morning. Laundry was $7, expensive. The staff seemed to be annoyed by questions sometimes, at other times they were very helpful.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Location is good. Walking distance to the Registan
Cons: You can't move on the bed because it makes crazy noises. Bathroom was horrible.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location was great - very near the Registan; the owner was very helpful
Cons: I requested a large double bed instead of two singles but the room had two singles

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was good, near by Registan. Good service and room condition was excellent.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was wonderful and always tasted great! On site tourism office really made things like directions, taxi transfers and getting sim card very easy.
Cons: I wish there was a lunch or dinner option, but breakfast itself was great!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly and accommodating staff, comfortable rooms. Due to my work I've stayed in several hotels in Samarkand and this is one of the best.
Cons: Shower was a little dodgy at times.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location very close to Registan but with feel of a real neighborhood; great courtyard for sitting; English spoken and help always available; good breakfast; everything works in room; nice folk-art touches throughout. Great place overall; very much enjoyed my stay.
Cons: Can’t think of anything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I stayed at the Jahongir Hotel for three nights. The location was perfect— about a four minute walk to the Registan, and the main walking street. The hotel is an old building built around a courtyard with overlooking balconies on the second floor. It’s decorated with Uzbek Suzani and local pottery, so it has a nice National feel to it. The room was excellent, beautifully decorated. The bed was comfortable and everything was sparkling and clean. Breakfast was very nice and the coffee was excellent. I was completely satisfied with everything and will recommend it highly!
Cons: The only thing I can think of is that when I went out at night there were no street lights. It was very dark on the street and the pavement and sidewalks were quite uneven. I was a bit afraid of falling. The neighbor is safe and I didn’t feel unsafe walking around, just afraid of falling
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place has a very cool vibe. Staff is nice and the place has got a lovely courtyard shared by most of the rooms. Breakfast is very good too.
Emirhan - Samarkand - Building

8.5 Excellent (266 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A stay at Emirhan places you in the heart of Samarkand, within a 5-minute drive of St. John Roman Catholic Church and St. Aleksyi Orthodox Church. Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast was poor for a 4 star hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very helpful and friendly, the location was alright (walking distance to Bibi Khanum, but need to take a taxi anywhere else), the room was comfortable and clean.
Cons: The fridge in our room didn't work, as well as some lamps that were also out of order. But mainly we really missed having a refrigerator, I hope they fix it!
7.5 Good
Pros: Spacious room, clean. Breakfast with good choice of Foods,
Cons: Huge 25% price adder for undefined taxes of 20%, 3% credit card charges etc. Didn't read the small print in booking.com properly. However, this is not good practice, offering a room for a good rate and then adding huge, undefined extra cost to the bill.
Timur The Great - Samarkand - Bedroom
8
9.6 Excellent (456 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Samarkand, Timur the Great - Guest House is within a 15-minute walk of Bibi-Khonym Mosque and Registan Square. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Timur the great is located just near Resigtan and it was so easy to get to the many attraction. The host and her daughter were so polite and gentle. The room was clean and tidy. The wifi internet was fast enough. The breakfast was so satisfying. I had eggs and some somsa(bread dumpling), cake and fruits with tea. It was like buffet to me. I could not have it all. The laundry service was available and cheap.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I was surprised at the huge, beautiful room. Mr. Timur was very kind, charming and caring. He gave me courteous explanation about the facility, where I can keep my luggage and how to get in after check-out and advised me by what time I should leave for the train station. Good breakfast. Location was awesome. A short walk to top sights such as Registan and Bibi-Khanym Mosque.
Cons: Though I wouldn't say I disliked it, the toilet didn't flush after the second day of my stay. So I used the bucket found next to the bathtub. As the same thing had happened in another town, I thought it might be common in Uzbekistan and didn't mind much. A trash bin is only in the bathroom. It would be good if there were one in the bedroom.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location - close to major sites Breakfast- plenty and lots of choice
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room was new, very spacious and warm! It was winter and not all accomodation in Uzbekistan is well heated. Owner Timur was very pleasant.
Cons: Breakfast was ok but less spectacular than many Uzbek hotels
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was spacious and warm. It’s walking distance to all the major attractions. Nice hot shower and delicious breakfast! Great place to stay! Highly recommended!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Timur and his family are incredibly friendly. We stayed in a new room which is far better than the ones in the photos. So our expectations were very much exceeded. The location is fantastic, just a few minutes from the Registan. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious. And again, did I mention how friendly the people here are? Wonderful place and recommended!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, very nice Location, directly close to Registan !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Timur really is great! The newly renovated rooms are beautiful, comfortable and modern but still retaining an Uzbekistan charm. The location is only steps away from the Registan. I felt like I was in a five star hotel. The service and breakfast were wonderful, rooms serviced daily with fresh towels given, hot and cold drinking water and tea available, and they will also do your laundry for a very reasonable price. Very happy with my stay here, great value.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: One of the best residence in the trip. Very good location. Walk to the registon square in 5 minutes. Cute and kind staff helped us about everything. Very good breakfast and very warm room(even a little bit hot :))
Cons: The only trouble we met was the electricity although I don't think is the problem of the hotel. However when we arrived, the dark little street and silence behind the closing door made it a little scared. It turned out the city construction caused the power cut and fortunately electricity came back very soon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: 1. Heater is warm nice for me 2. Good water pressure although and hot water 3. Very friendly and passionate owner
Cons: Nothing. All good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely guest house with friendly helpful staff. The room was very comfortable and has recently been renovated. The bathroom is spacious and extremely clean and the breakfasts are excellent. The location is brilliant too - just a five minute walk to Registan. If I come back to Samarkand i will definitely stay here again
Cons: Everything perfect....

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is good
Cons: Å
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location of the hotel just close to one of the main bulevads is definitely the pro of it, staff is nice and speak English.
Cons: they should change the number of the star... is definitely not a 4 star hotel, need also a bit of refurbishment expecially for the flooring and the vertical surface.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location is great. Generous breakfast. Very nice swimming pool
7.1 Good
Pros: I liked how helpful the stuff was.
Cons: Initially, I was given the single room which was in bad condition: the bed mattress was bad and gave me back pain + I couldn't close the door to the balcony. This room was facing the roadside so all through the night I could hear cars passing by, sometimes honking. I asked to change the room and give me something that would face the pool as the hotel was quite empty. I was given a new room next day BUT it was again facing the same side. This time though the room was better (at least the bed wasn't falling apart and it had a fridge), but still street noise was an issue. If you are light sleeper then I wouldn't recommend the room on the street side. Laundry and restaurant in the hotel: extremely overpriced. Nowhere in Uzbekistan I've been charged 15k sums for (just) washing one item.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly. good breakfast
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: It's on a busy street and the sound of the traffic kept me up all night. I had to find another hotel as soon as I could.
6.3 Good
Cons: a lot further out than suggested by booking.com. It was over 2km from the hotel to the start of the historic centre of Samarkand. Beware!!!!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location. Very helpful and attentive to our needs staff members, always available to help.
Cons: Could not pay with Credit card for stay at the hotel. All ATM in the town were down. Non of the shops or restaurants accept foreign credit cards, only Uzbec cards
6.3 Good
Pros: City center, you can find a exchange office inside the hotel with a good rate. Swimming pool.
Cons: uncomfortable bed. No kettle in the room. low service quality.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredibly friendly and helpful. The owner drove us (for free) to the train station at speed in concern that we would miss our train (he was due to finish work at 5pm yet drove us at 6pm). Above and beyond is the word.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is 300 meters away from Registan Complex. You can walk there during any time to get type of photographs you want with any lighting. The staff and family managing it are really accommodative and friendly and will make your stay pleasurable.
Cons: This is nothing to do with Hotel but because of location there are very few limited Uzbek and Other restaurants near by. The ones present are basically Tourist trap. So you would need to plan your meals for the day.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very special location, 200 meters walking to the Registan complex. The Madam owner (Zarina)), the Manager and staff are very kind. They immediately solved the problems that took place. The room we had in the new building is very big, warm in the winter and comfortable. Thank you, see you next time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb . Beka was very helpful helped with tours and transfers as well
7.9 Good
Pros: Location, walkin distance from Registon
Cons: Wifi-connection. Kept disconnecting and had to stand by the door in order to upload any relevant files.
7.1 Good
Pros: Convenient location right opposite Registan square. Walking distance to Bibi-Khanum and Shah-i-Zinda.
Cons: Service from reception staff is inconsistent depending on who is on duty. We have had really bad and really helpful, depending. Even what they told us about local taxis were inconsistent. One said it would cost 6000 per person for a 5 min ride (12000 soms for two) into the area with restaurants, while another helped us book a taxi to the train station for 15000 soms (15 min ride). No good restaurants near the hotel which meant that we needed to get a taxi to go out to eat. Shower was inconsistent, first night we barely had enough water (it was more like a dripping shower head) but the second night it was fine - I think multiple rooms share the same pipe so it depends on how many are showering at once. Small stains found on bed sheets.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I liked the location of the hotel. Breakfast was good. Everybody was very helpful and they spoke good English. The rooms were really big. A good price, a good choice. I recommend this place.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was really nice and always willing to help. The place is very quiet, with a relaxing atmosphere.
Cons: The breakfast time finishes too early (at 9:00)

Pros: The facilities and location
Cons: Lack of atmosphere
6.7 Good
Pros: Location was walk-able to the Registan square and the facilities were clean. When we arrived early in the morning, they let us eat from the breakfast buffet (which started later than advertised) prior to check-in which was nice, however, it did replace our included breakfast for the following day which worked well as we had another early departure the next day. We were able to leave our bags at the reception before our room was ready, which was nice.
Cons: There was a mix-up at check-in where the staff thought I was only one guest, despite marking 2 guests on the reservation. Ultimately, it lead to us having to pay more for the room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help
Cons: Breakfast wasn’t too good. No juices. Dried curled cheese

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant location right next to the amazing Amir Temur mausoleum. Excellent buffet breakfast with something for everyone. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Good bathroom with instant hot water at high pressure even on the top floor.
Cons: For room 9 it would be better if there was a curtain over the door as well as the window, as at the moment although the glass in the door is frosted, it offers little privacy at night when the light is on in the room.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice and friendly owner and staff
Cons: A bit too dark, a bit too dirty and a bit to old!

All good
