Great location, avoid in the summer!
The hotel was situated in a really convenient location steps from the main tourist area of town. The front desk was very helpful giving directions, suggesting places to eat, and even booked train tickets for us for a day trip to Córdoba. Breakfast was okay - a decent selection of things but a lot of it seemed a little less than fresh. It didn't help that none of it was kept refrigerated or on ice and it was hot out.
The hotel air conditioning leaves much to be desired. We switched rooms because the first room was so hot and would not cool down. The second room was still way to hot to be comfortable. Our stay was during a heatwave in September that brought daytime temps to about 110 degrees. The air conditioner cut a little bit of the heat but it was still about 90 in our room during the day and 80s at night. It was too hot to sleep comfortably. This is the only hotel we had during our two week stay throughout Spain that had such poor air conditioning. The front desk apologized and said sorry, its an old building but that's a poor excuse. we stayed in other very old hotels that had great AC during our trip. Some other small annoyances like slightly outdated rooms, furniture kind of beat up, rooftop pool area dirty, stains on linens... All of that would have probably been forgiven if we stayed during November, but if you are planning to visit during a warmer month, I would not recommend this hotel. We were so uncomfortable in the stifling heat.
