the kindness of the people
Very difficult to say, it is in city centre, but the city is very small. There is free internet but barely works. Parking is also free, but I wouldn't consider it as secure. It is hotel built around ice skating hall. Very cold, small heater which was hardly working. We asked several times, but without any effect. There is very bad acoustic isolation, you can hear everything on corridor as well as in rooms around. Loud music at evenings coming from ice hall. Breakfast very basic. Lady in reception was trying to be nice, but she hardly could speak any english.
The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful!
They had no record of our booking and the large room we had specifically booked was already in use. The only way to describe this is completely and utterly unprofessional.
Jaunmoku is set in a lovely estate in the Latvian countryside about 10 minutes out of Tukums by car. It was extremely peaceful and quiet which is exactly what we wanted. There was no restaurant open for dinner (maybe because there were few people there in the off season) but the rate included a very good breakfast (with a cooked option). Staff were very pleasant too.
The ambience and location. Excellent grounds for birdwatching Menu and evening meal facility is somewhat limited (evening meals are not always available) but there are good facilities in the nearby town.
Next to the sea limited choice at breakfast, for every additional topic you have to pay
It was on the seaside :) Sewerage of the hotel is based in the beach and when wind blows it's impossible to be there, but you can go few meters away. Also if you take the room in the attic there is not enough of ventilation.
Very beautiful place in national park, very quite. The see is close, about 18 km. There is apartment, possibility to stay with big company. It is possibility to rent sauna. The plumbing water has the strange smell. Some equipment in the bathroom was broken.
The hotel is based in a country park with pigs, a puppy and kittens. You can walk through the woods (bring insect repellant!) or stroll down to the lake. Food was excellent. None of the rooms had curtains. Upon complaint, white paper was stuck to our windows that was utterly useless. While the rest of the staff were pleasant and helpful, the landlady did little to make us feel welcome and was distrustful of our group following the curtain complaint.
