Excellent 10.0
Pros: The setting. The build of the property. The atmosphere. The staff
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast included buffet style offerings of pastries, cereals, yogurt parfait, beverages - coffee, juices, milk. I ordered eggs from their cook-to-order menu, satisfying quantity. Flavors were familiar and delicious. Restaurant was open-air, no walls to obscure the garden view. Patio seating was plentiful. Dinner menu offered different meats and vegetarian dishes. My selections were wonderful.
Cons: My stay there was too short. I didn't have time to enjoy the pool or spa.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Fantastic quality of service. Beautiful interior.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great service, food and location
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Amazing location, beautiful amenities, wonderful atmosphere lace to stay.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: I have been traveling around Africa for 10 years for now, but I can not compare this hotel with anything else! The rooms are supers nice even standard one. Animals could come into your terrace zone, they are under control and this one is absolutely safe. The food in the hotel is something incredible! Their chief is making dishes like in top European restaurants. More than that, they are also looking really beautiful, and deserves Michelin stars award. Excursion bureau not like in other hotels, they keep prices competitive like in any place in the town if you decided to buy tour yourself. And the personal during the excursions are super professionals! Large THANK YOU for Game Drive experience with Mikle. I have seen like dozens safari but this one was the most incredible one! I will for sure come back!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Ilala was a beautiful place to call home for a few days in between adventures and camping. I really enjoyed all that it had to offer: amazing chefs who catered to my vegan diet, pools and lounging, proximity to the Falls. It was exactly what I needed to revive and re-fuel for my next journey. The property itself, is well maintained and gorgeous. Thanks to the fantastic staff who chatted with me as much as I wanted and took the time to go the extra mile, making my stay great. Will definitely visit again one day.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Ilala Lodge was perfectly situated at a 20 minute walk to the entrance of the Victoria Falls Reserve. The hotel layout was perfect with terraces for outdoor dining and if preferred indoor option. The meals were varied and locally sourced produce and breakfast options were a highlight. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and provided outstanding friendly service. The guest services connected us with a wide variety of outdoor activities. The dinner cruise is a must for awesome views of Zambezei river and the hippos …..60 at least a highlight. However the Victoria Falls in both morning and evening provided the reason to visit ...spectacular views from 16 vantage points …...rainbows and rainforest mist unbelievable.
Cons: The backup generator was noisy so stay away from rooms in immediate vicinity. We had #48 a longer walk but quiet. Additional deck chairs near pool would have been helpful . Very aggressive street salespeople made wandering outside the hotel uncomfortable, no fault of hotel but a negative and part of Zimbabwe's reality.
Excellent 8.5
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The grounds are gorgeous and in an excellent location. Just a 10 minute walk to the falls and the mist within sight from each balcony. The food was tasty and a bit extraordinary in pairing. Service was very attentive, but not overbearing. Room was luxurious. All said, I'd gladly stay here again.
Cons: Dinner was a bit pricey for the serving sizes. Water was expensive at $3 for .75 liters.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Everything was really good. Service is the best ! Special thanks to Hugh!
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Nice view, nice rooms, lovley staff
Cons: Food for a 5 star lodge wasnt up to standards
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Friendly staff, the manager is very helpful. Clean rooms. Fast laundry. Good location.
Cons: Limited food menu
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The rooms were spacious and comfortable with great views. The pool and other amenities were pleasant, and the staff was helpful in getting our bookings for activities. The breakfast was also very good.
Cons: Dinner service was a bit slow. The booking details promised complimentary sundowner drinks and canapés but we never got these.
Okay 5.0
Pros: I had a packed breakfast which was fine but my wife said there was no bacon and other items available on the menu .
Cons: On arrival in our room I observed that the lounge section had not be cleaned as there was still peanuts and other items on the carpet. Without being petty this immediately made me feel uncomfortable because of Covid. I had to ask a waiter twice to wear his mask correctly when serving. No complementary tea or drinks as advertised. No porter to assist when I left in the morning.
Good 6.0
Pros: Nice rooms but they don't have a view to the water hole, just to the bush. Friendly staff.
Cons: Breakfast service extremely slow. No massage was available in the afternoon. Overall I would say that not worth the cost, with the money paid you should get more.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great service great location luxury beautifully designed hotel
Cons: There could be more than one person on reception for check in at a time
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Culture vulture talk was brilliant, staff in the Club were friendly and accommodating and room was beautiful with a great balcony view and animal sightings and view over the national park were amazing! Food in restaurants was delicious.
Cons: Hotel transfer to Vic Falls airport was more expensive than getting a taxi - not value for money. Felt like we were expected to pay premium just because we were staying there, an expectation that we had lots of money therefore could afford to pay more.
Excellent 9.6
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We loved it - staff were all so wonderful- engaging, smart, intelligent, helpful and keen to make our stay perfect, which it was. All of the extras blew us away - sunscreen, insect repellent, Nespresso machine, complimentary mini bar, beautiful delicate wine glasses .... . The bed looked straight out to the National Park - what a way to wake up! Bathroom was as large as the bedroom! Incredible. Gorgeous pool overlooking a watering hole. The team had our every need catered for.
Cons: Nothing!
Excellent 10.0
Excellent 9.7
Pros: The resort was great and had a host of complimentary services. Included were Wi-Fi, laundry, breakfast and mini bar. The view from the room was breathtaking. The staff was very professional, pleasant and accommodating.
Cons: The food was good, but not great. But I'm a picky eater.

Good 7.0
Pros: Boma
Cons: Wonderful experience
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Excellent location Serene atmosphere
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything - the pool, people & animal experience
Excellent 10.0
Pros: exceptional location and staff. Loved every minute of it
Cons: nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent location with wildlife visiting the water hole all the time !
Cons: Loved it all
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The property overlooked the water hole and jungle and so you were able to see a lot of wildlife. The daily Vulture feeding was also interesting
Cons: Felt the room was a bit small for a couple little storage space, so kept having to move suitcases and bags to get around.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The breakfast was one of our high lights of our stay. There was so many nice things to choose from to eat. Lucky we where there for more than one day to try every thing. The view from your table was even better.
Cons: I landed up falling in the show, because the tiles where so clean and slippery. It needs a shower mat.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Where do I start with what I liked: *I learned that their HR department will bring any donated items to people who need them. So if you desire, you can bring clothes, school supplies, or anything else (just not most food items). *The staff were fantastic! Polite, helpful, on top of everything! I was greeted with a smile and welcomed instantly and they even asked to make a copy of my activity itinerary so that they could confirm all of the dates/times with the company for me. They also seemed to plan the room cleaning and turn down service according to my activity schedule. *On the last day there I needed to contact my credit card company and the number wouldn't work on my cell. After trying their office phone and realizing it wouldn't work either, they offered to find me a staff member with a cell phone. I want to emphasize that it is extremely uncommon to have an unlimited cell phone plan, which means, they were going to offer to use their personal paid minutes to help me make the call. I declined of course because no one should pay for my phone call! But the fact that this was the lengths they were willing to go to instantly, without a thought, was heart warming! *There is a complimentary mini bar (including sodas, alcohol, etc.). Um...yes! *The room was spectacular. *The view was beautiful. *The bar/restaurant overlooks a watering hole. My first night there a herd of elephants and about 100 water buffalo came to drink. Oh yeah, and you can see the hole from the pool. *The pool is so cool (as in awesome, not freezing). *They do a free vulture feeding at 1:00pm every day (this involves hundreds of vultures. It was amazing!) *Breakfast was included with my stay and included a full cold spread (meats, cheeses, fruits, bloody mary, etc.) as well as a menu (albeit small) for hot items (including omelets and french toast). I wound up never even getting the hot items because the cold spread was so filling. *Where do I start? Let me just stay Augustine is AMAZING! He is the hospitality manager there and absolutely change the entire trajectory of my stay and helped coordinate a huge activity that I otherwise would not have been able to be a part of. He is fantastic! *It is farther away from the falls, which I thought might be a bad thing, but they offer hourly free shuttle to the falls, the open market, and 2 other stops, so I never felt distant from anything. Plus, I realized that I only got 2 mosquito bites over 6 days, while others I spoke to who stayed closer to the falls/river complained of a lot more bites. So maybe being away from the falls was actually a plus. Also, because they have so many things there (vulture feeding, beautiful restaurant view, The Boma, and the water hole) you can actually do more AT the hotel than you can at most other places. *The Boma is a fun place and is right there at the hotel. Short walking distance, yet they still have an additional shuttle that will take you straight there.
Cons: What didn't I like? Um, leaving? Really, it was such a wonderful place!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything was amazing! Great location, accommodation, breakfast and staff! Since we arrived, the staff went above a beyond our expectations in helping us book activities, adapting all the requirements for our COVID testing, transfers, taxis, meals and anything we needed!! Robin, the manager was amazing in all aspects, always available and a huge word of appreciation to Denise and Farai who continuously resolved all our issues with activities, even during the days we weren't staying there! Would return for sure.
Excellent 8.5
Excellent 10.0
Pros: It was the perfect place to stay—low-key, nicely situated, cozy rooms with lovely plantings along the walkways and private places to sit and relax. Wonderful bar and dining room with good food and a beautiful little pool with umbrella tables surrounding it. Staff was super friendly and helpful.
Cons: I wouldn’t change a thing!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This is a beautiful lodge on the outskirts of Victoria Falls but only a short $5 taxi ride in to town. What makes this place so special are the staff....rarely on our travels have we received such outstanding service which made our stay that extra bit special!
Cons: Nothing!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The staff was very generous, kind, congenial and helpful. The gardens are very pretty with a sense of calm and peace away from the tourist area. It is wonderful to eat the meals looking out on the gardens and the pool. The food was wonderful.
Cons: Victoria Falls and the rest of Zimbabwe do not have enough electricity for the country so there are rolling power outages. However the lodge has a back-up generator that they use when needed.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Jay was an excellent host and gave us the best budget activity options
Cons: Would have been nice to have a bar
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Good place and good ambiance
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very friendly environment, I felt like home :) Open kitchen, nice pool, good tips on activities
Cons: Bed could be more comfortable
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staying at the Backpackers lodge was the best choice my friend and I made: it is a clean and fun accommodation with a lot of facilities and friendly people. We were helped greatly organizing our activities around Vic Falls, that really surprised us and made our stay very relaxed. Getting around Zimbabwe during this pandemic is relatively easy, tourists are welcomed and a lot of the activities are still possible; you even get the rare chance to have the falls for yourself and to have private tours that normally wouldn't be private.
Cons: Most people in Victoria Falls are living from tourism and are having a hard time surviving during this lockdown. It is good to support them by buying some souvenirs or making use of their services, but walking through town can be hard because you can never help every shop owner, guide or street seller.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Great spot, facilities clean.
Cons: Was a bit sad, maybe a reflection of the times. However a great spot.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Good location. 20 minutes pedestrian from town (city centre) with supermarket, shops, cafes, excursion companies, then 20 minutes more to VF entrance and border or some more to restaurant above river loop. Lodge looks like small resort having walkways, gardens, observing pad, swimming pool and (for fee) massage even. Nice thematic decoration elsewhere. Kitchen with all equipment including microwaver and fridge. Due to almost suspension of tourism not so much guests and all single in dormitories.
Cons: WiFi (1$ per day) works near swimming pool, not in rooms.
Okay 4.0
Pros: Only the beds
Cons: They way l was treated in terms of my paycheck
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Comfortable bed. Pleasant staff. Good location. Quiet area. Lockers to store your bags.
Cons: Controlling the shower's hot water temperature is quirky, but it worked if you follow the instructions located in the bathroom.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hostess, she was very helpful, I had a problem with my broken cell phone and she was more than delighted to help me out with my calls and messages to the different tours that I had previously arranged for my trip. Her name is Blessing!
Excellent 10.0
Good 7.9
Pros: Really good surroundings, nice and clean, very helpful staff that explained what we needed to know. Check in was easy.
Cons: Relatively expensive for a private chalet. Wi-fi is 3 dollars pr person per day. The food they serve is not worth buying. Better go to a restaurant down town or make your own meal in the common kitchen. Needed to pay cash upon arrival for our stay even though it was stated that credit card was an option.

Pros: Excellent, clean, comfortable Restaurant had affordable menu, traditional meals as well. Big up to the Manager , very hard working hands on person.
Cons: Just needed a bit of TLC the doors looking old, could see the key hole and lock on the outside. The restaurant had good a great food but service was a bit slow
Good 6.0
Cons: My only complaint would be that the WiFi wasn’t working from my room. I had to go out of my room to the sitting area to catch it Otherwise everything was exceptional
Excellent 8.5
Excellent 8.8
Pros: The hotel is nicely located in a 10 min walk to downtown and 30 min to Victoria Falls National Park. I loved the bungalows and the garden with small wild aminals wakling in and out :) The hotel provides free shuttle minibus to and from the national park. The swimming pool is an aftertour relief! The breakfast is served by very friendly and beautiful young ladies! The bar is ok, where you can have your favourite cocktail. The front desk managers were very helpful to arrange our stay in Chobe, Botswana, in the the hotel of the chain. THANK YOU!!!!!!!
Cons: To my understanding the hotel rooms are overpriced as compared to other same service hotels in the region. I assume it is due to the political uncertainty and the high cost of imported stuff in Zimbabwe. For example, the hotel of this chain in Chobe, Botswana, was two times less expensive, but I would rate it 4 stars!

Pros: Wonderful staff! Very helpful and friendly.
Cons: Lock of elevator in back building. Long time to get food. Prices much to high in comparison with worldwide standards
Okay 5.7
Pros: -The hotel and its grounds are beautiful and really impressively decorated, including a giant Christmas tree in the lobby. The large pool area is large and gorgeous. And the maintenance workers are very friendly. Our room was clean but dimly lit, with a nice balcony, fridge, and safe. - The bellman, Agripa, was very polite and professional in helping us to our room and helping with our luggage upon check-in/check-out - The spa was really nice and accommodating (they also do after-hours treatments), and the therapists named Lindy and Leti gave us the most amazing foot massages! - We liked the nice turn-down service, which included the setup of the mosquito/insect net.
Cons: - No AC and no extra water in extreme heat. It was nearly 40-degree Celsius when we checked in, yet the AC wasn’t working (due to Zim’s rolling power cuts) and our ceiling fan’s control string was broken -- so we had a VERY hard time cooling off in the extreme heat. Worst of all, after baking in this heat all night and losing water from constant sweating, when we asked for extra water at the front desk the next morning, they and their housekeeping staff refused and told us to buy some; we explained we’d paid extra money for this hotel (as opposed to cheaper ones in the area) due to the fact that it had advertised AC. So when this hotel couldn’t deliver on a service they’d advertised, their refusal to offer a remedy as simple as extra drinking water showed they don’t care about their customers’ well being -- only their own profits. - Breakfast had lots of options, but probably half of them were covered in flies (including chopped fruit, yogurt, and other wet food at room temperature). We couldn’t enjoy these things out of fear of getting sick.

Pros: Very nice hotel and staff.
Cons: Expensive, casino wasn’t very impressive.
Good 7.9
Pros: Location was superb
Cons: The food could be better but it is a great place to stay in Victoria Falls. I will book again with them.
Okay 5.8
Pros: Location. Breakfast was plentiful. Swimming great for kids.
Cons: Housekeeping average. No tissues in room and only 2 towels initially for the 4 of us. Had to ask 3 times to get. Only one roll of toilet paper!
Good 7.5
Pros: Food was good and rooms were clean too.
Cons: Accounts staff is very disorganised or incompitent so to speak,l cleared my bill before my parents travelled and actually cleared with Stella Zvidi, only to be embrassed on checking out that there were oustanding payments....they had to wait for more than an hour for clearance. To make it worse they were made to top up on drinks which l had paid for more than a month in advance. Accounts need to put all customer files in order than to inconvinience guests its very embassing.
Good 7.5
Pros: Nice location
Cons: Air conditioning flooded one of our rooms
Good 7.5
Pros: The breakfast options and location. The check-in staff.
Cons: The quality of the room, it was VERY tired and old fashioned. The furniture was broken or badly scuffed. The room's air conditioning switched off when your took your room key out and locked up! The poor attention by the outside restaurant staff, they walked past and left rubbish on the ground around the tables. This was made worse by the fact that they were not busy!

Pros: Check in done perfectly an the vehicle was safely kept. we also found clean rooms and clean bedding. our request for a room with two single beds was honored as well, which made our stay comfortable.
Cons: The toilets were wrongly positioned, because there are no windows at the toilet for most of the rooms. There should be air circulation in the bath rooms. unfortunately it may cost a fortune to renovate the rooms to reposition the toilets.

Pros: Excellent location! There is a footpath from the back of the hotel grounds that leads to the entrance of the falls. The hotel guard escorts you on the 5 minute walk. Tipping him a few dollars is cheaper than taking the 2 minute taxi ride that will cost you $5, minimum. Along the path is also the Look out cafe, a place that serves food and drinks, but is also the base of the zipline and gorge swing. The food at hotel was excellent, and the formal dining room was relatively cheap with the tasting menu at $45. The service all around was very good.
Cons: The rooms need renovations, especially the bathrooms.

Excellent 8.3
Pros: The setting is remote but beautiful overlooking a gorge. John and staff were great and the chefs prepared delicious meals. This is a very authentic experience for adventurous travelers.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The location is fabulous, perched as it is on the edge of the Zambezi Gorge. If you like isolation, atmosphere and great accommodation and food this is for you. Meals good with view overlooking the gorge. Room was bush camp style but with large bed room, mosquito netting over double bed, separate bathroom and enclosed garden courtyard. Staff really helpful and courteous Do take the escorted walk along the top of the gorge and also the rather steep descent /ascent to the river
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Fantastic location to get away from it all and unwind True African Nature experience Very good staff Great birding spot - although it was drier than expected we very happy with what we set out to find Nice to meet and see owners involved
Good 7.5
Pros: Everything was great, service was good, and I had a great time and experience, apart from the very small parts that I didn't liked.
Cons: Communication between staff and customer could be clearer. For eg, the airport shuttle service could be stated more clearly that it comes with an extra charge, and after booking is made and payment collected, they should send a note stating that everything is confirmed (since I received a note stating that Taita will send me a confirmation) but I had to follow up with Taita myself to ask them if my booking is confirmed. They could be more clear and swift on that part.

Good 7.7
Pros: The room I stayed in was beautifully decorated and the bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly but could use more reception training.
Cons: The room was very nice however the amenities did not match the room Also unfortunately, it was located next to the lobby and was very noisy! I heard the reception phone ring constantly and people talking as if they were in my room. The mini bar was empty. For a luxury hotel/ room it should offer a variety of drinks IN the room.
Excellent 9.7
Pros: Beautiful room! Very relaxed location.
Cons: Everything. The staff was also very helpful and nice.
