Midoun is a small town on the island of Djerba. Located on the northeast of the island, it looks out over the Gulf of Gabes and is well known for having some of the best beaches in the region. This town has been inhabited throughout the ages by a myriad of cultures and peoples, all of whom have left traces of their stay. An interesting mix of cultures comprising Arab, Berber, Jewish, Greek, Roman and French contribute to the town's diverse atmosphere. Flying into Djerba Zarzis International Airport is the easiest way to begin your Midoun holidays. If you've booked a package holiday then it should include an airport pickup that will whisk you away to your resort. However, if you booked independently, then there are a number of taxis and buses that can take you to your destination. Just make sure you settle on a price before you go. The best time to visit Midoun is from April to September when precipitation is at its lowest point. Although the climate of Midoun stays fairly sunny year-round, be aware that October to January brings plenty of rain. The time zone is GMT+1.
