Located on the southern coast of the Greek island of Kos, Kardamena is an energetic and friendly resort that has an infectious sense of fun. With its glorious sandy beaches, plentiful water sports, plethora of boat trips and countless bars, pubs, clubs, snack bars and restaurants; Kardamena has everything fun loving holidaymakers need to have a good time in the Dodecanese. Moreover, the fact that the resort is relatively compact, has a charming little town square and is blessed with genuinely friendly locals helps to perpetuate the sense of positivity that seems to abound all throughout Kardamena during the tourist season.
While Kos' location ensures it enjoys mild winters and hot summers; Kardamena is very much a summer town. In general, the summer season runs from around April to October. During this time, temperatures are consistently high (reaching 40°C in July and August), sunshine is abundant (up to 14 hours per day) and showers are practically non-existent. Flights to Kos Airport are plentiful and affordable from the UK and take around four hours from London. Transfers to and from the resort take just 15 minutes. The time zone in Kos is GMT+2.
The glorious beach is very much the focal point of holidays in Kardamena as the calm, clear waters of the Aegean and the wide availability of pedalos, banana boats, ringos, jet skis et al are enough to keep holidaymakers of all ages happy and content. Those looking to venture further afield can enjoy boat trips to beaches further along the coast, explore volcanic islands out to sea (Nisyros) or even make an international daytrip over to Turkey (Bodrum). Kardamena is home to more than 100 bars and clubs so visitors can rest assured they will be spoilt for choice when it comes to enjoying a few sundowners after yet another day of fun in the sun!
