10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have been visiting Aherne’s for the past nine years and our recent visit was as good as any. This delightful family run business has never failed to impress with the owners and their staff excelling in their hospitality from reception to departure. The ambiance is excellent, bedrooms and the hotel lounge with a welcoming fire make the stay special. However for us the main reason for taking a detour of several hundred miles in our journey to visit Aherne’s is the restaurant where the most delicious seafood is served. I can quite honestly say having visited many countries throughout the world I have never bettered their seafood .
Cons: Nothing

7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was very basic. We have been regular visitors to this hotel for many years and whereas before there would be a selection of breakfast cereals, pastries, fruit and juice etc, now you have to order separately off the breakfast menu as everything is itemised.
Cons: Breakfast needs improving. Lighting in the room was really bad. We had to pull the bed out to plug in one of the bedside lamps but the main ceiling light was really dull. Our room was very cold on arrival and we had to ask more than once to have the heating turned on. Lick of paint on the woodwork in the bathrooms.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room, bar, food was excellent. Parking great.
Cons: Change your breakfast orange juice. It was shocking.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect, right on the edge of the village. The room was comfortable and the shower great!! The breakfast was lovely, with really good homemade brown bread and locally sourced bacon. The staff were very pleasant and obliging.
Cons: Our room was at the top of the stairs and therefore noisy with people coming and going, especially as the bedroom doors banged when shutting unless you physically closed them slowly. I realize this is probably to do with fire safety but wow can they bang!!!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The lounge was very comfy
Cons: No iron in the room.
7.5 Good
Pros: Available. There's not much accommodation and the cliff prices are exhorbitant. Good modernization of hotel.
Cons: Cramped. 2 folding chairs in wardrobe if you needed to sit in room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was very convenient and the breakfast was delicious - lovely, elegant dining room. The hosts couldn't do enough for us, very professional and kind. Spotlessly clean. I would love to return.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was really comfortable, clean and the decor was lovely. There is a really good shower in the room and nice toiletries.
6.0 Good
Pros: I would say this hotel is superb in Summer, it was a cold day when I checked in and the hotel was virtually closed. The restaurant is not open during the winter and I'm not sure I was aware of this when I booked, I would not have booked it had I been aware as I know the village and there are limited places to eat (2 in winter! one cafe which was a takeaway and the Cliff House 5 star) but my room was cozy and warm. The breakfast was pleasant but the room was freezing at 8.30am when I came down so I ate quickly and left as I had an early checkout.
Cons: The fact that I couldn't get a meal in the evening, this is not really acceptable in a Hotel of this standard - even something in the Bar would have sufficed. I had to leave the hotel and either eat in a Cafe (which was pleasant but not what I wanted) or travel to a town 15/20 mins away.
7.5 Good
Pros: The bar atmosphere, the breakfasts, and dinner, comfortable bed and the shutters on the windows in our room (plus the view of the gardens)

9.6 Excellent
Pros: We were so pleased by the spaciousness and balcony view.
Cons: The coffee supply was minimal and the kettle was dirty. We also were told the bar shutdown at 9 p.m. and come to find that entertainment and dancing was held after this. That should be communicated a bit better.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Near the beach excellent location great staff- very welcoming and friendly!
Cons: The low ceilings and the noise
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location and the bed's and the see views
Cons: The food no fridge in the room said you could ask for a small fridge they have none
