Could have been much better.
Bathroom consisted of a shower & toilet with little space. A cheap plastic curtain separated toilet from shower. No soap or other toiletries supplied, just liquid perfumed detergent & conditioner in plastic pump containers. The bed used most of the space in the room. Passing traffic was 2 - 3 metres from the only window, very noisy particularly motor bikes and tuk tuks. There was a lack of .privacy as only a thin wood door separated us from the main staff member who chose to sit close to the door with a noisy fan while he spent most of his time toying with his mobile phone.
I can't praise the Bhuthorn highly enough. The building itself is delightful, the freshly-cooked Thai breakfast was out of this world (you should definitely go for Option 3 on the menu), and the staff went out of their way to help me. They were patient when my credit card was declined - entirely my own fault - and helped me find a taxi and explain my destination in Thai when I was leaving.
Nothing - it was all fabulous!
Great location. Walk distance from the Grand Palace and Kaosan road. Wonderful facilities. Decorations are all antiques or antique like. Very beautiful. Staff is professional and kind. Free breakfasts are fascinating.
It might be a bit difficult to bring large suitcases upstairs. But it is worth it. The stairs are beautiful.
Jay was awesome with his service! Great tea and coconut ice cream upon arrival- afternoon. Great local breakfast in the morning. Very helpful in pointing us towards the local temples. Offered tips on how to avoid local scams. Very helpful in arranging transport to and from the airport.
Host was very nice, and prepared a delicious breakfast (the Thai bento was awesome). The room was spacious, clean and quiet. The feel of old Bangkok was great!
The subway is a bit far away and one has to cab its way to other districts
