Peacock Guesthouse is my favourite accommodation, having travelled for 30 days so far. I love the authentic structure of the guesthouse and attention to details — everywhere, Bhaktapur’s traditional arts are beautifully displayed. Copper flask and cups, handwoven bedroom slippers, posters of traditional paper-printing.. as a guest, I’m delighted to use these lovely Bhaktapur’s goods myself! While enjoying modern day’s amenities of warm beds (electric blankets available), hot shower, fluffy towels, strong wifi. The food served are delicious and heartwarming. Breakfast comes with the Bhaktapur signature curd, and always different each day! Anyone can taste it when food is prepared with love. The lady at the restaurant blushes and laughs happily when people compliment her food. Owner is a good man through and through. He is always there at the guesthouse making sure everything goes well, playing with his children. Now I seldom write such long reviews but note this: I told two potters Sajan and Srijan from Pottery Square that I’m staying at Peacock Guesthouse, and they excitedly shared that the owner is a good man who discriminates no one and welcomes every soul with kindness and good energy. On my last day, I witnessed his loving kindness. Two youths on bike crashed into his parked scooter, destroying the backlight. He came out of the guesthouse, looked sad for a moment but when the other locals wanted to give chase, he waved the boys off. Then lifted his daughter onto his shoulders, playing and laughing with her. A good man indeed. I wish for him, his business and his family to grow happy and well.
Nothing at all.
the place is awesome in the centre of town. Building is a restaurated traditional house. Restaurant is one of the best in town. People are very sevice minded.
no negatives to mention, it was a super stay. Only for tall people might it cause a pain in the neck sometimes.
Great building, beautifully converted. Great homemade cakes and fruit sodas. All food very good. Room very comfortable with excellent coffee machine. The manager and chef got up early the day we left to ensure we got breakfast before leaving for the airport.
No, all good
The hosts were very kind and helpful. The building is historic and beautiful. The rooms are spacious with good amenities, heater and electric blanket worked great. The rooms were very clean and maintained to a high standard. The shower was hot and the bathroom clean with shampoo and shower gel provided, also nice towels! The cakes are very tasty and the breakfast is plentiful. The location is excellent to see all the sights in Bhaktapur and you can sit outside and watch the life in the square, perfect!
The guide from the hotel showed us the real Bhaktapur. When you go to Peacock house you should really do a tour with him.
