7.0 Good
Pros: We recently spent six nights at Mount Irvine Bay Resort, which is 3 star hotel. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. The setting is wonderful with well-manicured and looked-after gardens. Our room, a Superior Double, was fine – perhaps a little dated, but spacious, clean, with fridge, and the wi-fi worked very well (and everywhere else around the complex – a nice surprise!). From our balcony, we had a wonderful view across the pool area and out to sea with some excellent sunsets (the pool was very good - large enough for “proper” swimming and the water was crystal clear). The staff were very friendly and helpful (special thanks to Joelle, the concierge, who was particularly proactive and did a great job for us with car rental among other things).
Cons: Breakfast was good but with an extended stay there could have been more variety (papaya and pineapple were very nice, but there was no other fresh fruit; muesli and yoghurt would have been nice). We only ate in the restaurant in the evening twice – once just starters the day we arrived, which were very nice, and for a special Caribbean dinner – unfortunately our main courses were tepid on arrival and when we pointed that out that they didn’t charge us for the meal – arguably good customer service but we would have preferred hot food! Overall, I think that they could improve on the catering, but remember the 3 stars. On the other evenings we ate out at local restaurants, and while one, The Anchor, was in “safe” walking distance, the others required a taxi ride – not because of the distance – it was walkable – but there were no footpaths on a poorly lit and quite busy road which was hair-raising enough during daylight. In that sense it is a little isolated – if staying there for an extended period, a rental car might be a good idea.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Tobago is a beautiful island and it is difficult to get it wrong with the location, but the grounds were magnificent. The swimming pool and gardens were particularly impressive. Decent breakfast too. Friendly staff.
Cons: This seems to be a hotel that saw its heyday years ago. Common facilities are pristine, but the toilets look a bit old (if someone cares about this) although perfectly clean. The staff was generally friendly but not always resourceful whenever a minor issue arose (e.g. not having beach towels ready in the morning and not offering any solution or letting us use the room towels in the beach). It may be difficult to get public taxis to the hotel, and hotel taxis are expensive (like everywhere else in Trinidad and Tobago)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room are spacious and very clean With villa’s scattered around the complex The overall experience is not cluttered like complex hotels Private beach to swim in every morning
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean, comfortable and spacious enough, even for three adults sharing. The facilities including the restaurant pool and spa were adequate. However what was exceptional was the service. I must say not often you go to Tobago and you have such kind, friendly and courteous staff whom go above and beyond to make your stay a memorable one.
Cons: Nothing.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location is good. Staff is very helpful and responsive.
Cons: Breakfast is average. Walls in the room are very thin, you can hear well your neighbors. At the time of my stay, guests were very loud, it was almost impossible to sleep.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff
Cons: The beds
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful resort without being slick and flashy. Beautiful room and bath with large balcony. Good AC and wifi Good food and great breakfast with kind attentive service. Helpful friendly reception - Joelle cocierge particularly kind and helpful. Great areas to sit and veggitate - poolside, lobby, bar, balcony Across from lovely beach. $11.40 tax ride to town, port, and airport. Lovely dining area. QUIET - no barking dogs.
Cons: Nothing to not like

This hotel has facilities measuring 1830 square feet (170 square meters), including conference space. For a surcharge, guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle (available 24 hours) and a ferry terminal shuttle.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beach, staff, food, view from room.
Cons: Business center equipment was out of date and in bad shape. No wifi in rooms. Live birds tied to railings in restaurant watching you while you eat seems very sad and cruel.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The resort is beautiful. When you enter the lobby the view is absolutely breathtaking. The front desk staff was very nice, cordial and informative. Very nice staff everywhere in the restaurant and boutiques on the beach. Close proximity to all activities. I can not wait to come back to Coco-Reef Tobago!!!
Cons: The floor tiles need some sprucing up. They are really gorgeous but a bit worn.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable room Clean beach with adequate number of beach chairs Friendly staff Close to airport Good proximity to outside restaurants and external boat trip Desk arranged taxi tour of the island Room upgrade offered without additional cost
Cons: Limited options for meals - lunch and dinner buffets only, no menus Lunch and dinner buffet costs were expensive for what was offered
4.0 Okay
Pros: Fantastic location. The beach and landscaping is wonderful. The service is very good. Included breakfast were very good.
Cons: The facilities are very run down and in much need of repair and refurbishment. Cracked tiles on the floor, bathroom fixtures are in poor operating condition, beds were very lumpy and uncomfortable. Many dents, scratches and areas of missing paint on the floors and walls. This could be a world class resort but it appears the owners do not reinvest in up keep of the rooms. Lunch and Dinners, which were not included were very expensive and not of good quality. My wife became ill after dinner one night.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The buffet breakfast was fresh and varied. The built berm provides protection from the waves making an almost serene swimming pool in the ocean. The bed was comfortable. Restaurants located walking distance from the resort...trust me you need them.
Cons: The bed only had 2 small pillows, more has to be requested from the front desk. Pool towels are only available from the front desk but there are no signs or information advising you about that. Ants and wood rot everywhere. No elevator, no extra bath towels. The dinner is way overpriced for a mouthful of food.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Coco Reef is a short walk from the airport and overall feels very safe and mostly clean. By US standards, the bathroom in our room was pretty gross and the bedding needed updating. We were in room 210 and liked having a view of the pool and the ocean. We may stay here again, but also hope that for the price, we can find somewhere cleaner. It's hit or miss with the staff. Some are very friendly and others seem put out by guests. Melissa's fajitas at the restaurant closest to the beach are a must.
Cons: Cleanliness and outdated bedding
6.7 Good
Pros: Some staff were very nice, breakfast was broadly a good range, rooms were big, good turn down service, quick room service, beach is well kept, super location, decent sized balcony
Cons: Minimal variety and low quality fruit for breakfast, limited lower body gym equipment, evening entertainment just on Saturday, some staff not cut out to be customer facing, watersports just want you to buy a Scuba Diving trip and not let you use anything else, wifi only usable in reception lobby, aircon machines right above the beds, we paid 30% more for a sea view- which we could only see in the gaps across the garden outside our room. To be honest, at £300/$400 per night- I expected more.
6.7 Good
Pros: Breakfast itself was great. The breakfast service was good except wait till i finish eat and then collect d utensils. Didnt like being interrupted regurlarly. The beach and location were excellent
Cons: Rain fell. Room leaked heavily. Moved to another room but with a smaller bed. Room leaked again water flowing unto d socket area where charger was plugged in. Did not want to re-imburse properly for damaging it. After much heated discussions was re-imbursed properly
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Amazing private beach and reef. Clear blue water, amazing snorkeling opportunities for beginners. Accommodative staff and great location (quick walk from the airport).
Cons: WiFi was extremely poor, even at the hotel lobby. Bedrooms needed more pillows. Noticed a decline in breakfast options (versus last year). In room safe required maintenance service three times.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Coco Reef staff were very friendly, accommodating and quick to resolve all questions we had. The grounds are impeccably maintained, the room was wonderfully situated to provide comfort but still afford proximity to the natural grounds. Everything about the 3 day stay was awesome!
Cons: Vegan food options were slim and repetitive. I didn't like that I couldn't stay longer
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice ambience. Enjoyed the private beach. Perfect for a relaxing vacation
Cons: Water glasses and tea cups in the room were not cleaned properly. Before the first use, there were tea stains on the cups.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Access to the beach
Cons: The room smelled of mold it was was overpriced the commode had a brown ring the bathroom shower mat was dirty and over run with ants.

7.0 Good
Pros: Staff at every level very happy and helpful.
Cons: Breakfast v good. Lunch Good. Dinner fair.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, good sized rooms and balconies. Small private beach. Well kept gardens.
Cons: Needs a bit of updating. We had to ask for a table for our balcony, they brought a small folding table. The chairs were the same as those in the dining room, so a good sized balcony with a lovely view but not very relaxing. There was some good food, but buffet dinners boring after a few days. Good breakfast but little variation from day to day. Some yogurt would have been good.
2.0 Mediocre
Cons: The staff weren’t accommodating and charged me more money than I was originally quoted for. Internet advert looks good but in real life, it’s not good value for money.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast had a good variety of food with omlettes made to order.
Cons: Dinner could have had more vegetarian options available.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: I requested an early check in time of 2:00pm, got an email confirming that my request was approved. However, when I arrived the room wasn't ready and I had to wait until 3pm, no apologies or any attempt to ease my waiting time.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and dinner was very good staff treated us very good
Cons: Larger rooms
6.0 Good
Pros: Great quiet place.Nice room with AC.Will visit again!
Cons: TV didn’t show well.Had to ask another guest how to operate the shower. I think someone could have accompanied us to the room.

Cons: Wifi signal is not the best in certain parts of resort.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was huge with more than enough space to unpack and layout my things. The wifi signal was always strong nad the cable TV was perfect. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Chef Niki does an amazing job of providing a taste of local cuisine at the buffet.
Cons: Would have appreciated wash cloths being available and more pillows.
7.9 Good
Pros: Excellent pool and garden area. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and tidy rooms. Good WiFi
Cons: Food was average. Looking a bit tired in parts
3.1 Mediocre
Pros: The best thing about this place was the proximity to the airport and night life.
Cons: The food was very bland, the atmosphere unwelcoming and the facilities (room) was dilapidated.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The view and proximity to the beach are great.
Cons: They strategically don't have any food options available until 2.5 hours after check-in even to pay for yourself. Also there was only one food option even though two lunch options are listed, the second place was never open during my stay and not information was provided.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything about our stay, our bartender at the pool was fantastic and the tobago courlan blue cocktail changed my life!
6.0 Good
Pros: All the above mentioned went well.
Cons: Had late check and wasn't dealt with properly by staff or management, couldn't go in the pool or beach for two days because of no towels. One night they said it would have entertainment and it wasn't so.
6.7 Good
Pros: The location was excellent.
Cons: Service in restaurant and bar was terrible. It took us an hour and 15 minutes to get a quick meal. Good cold. Wine almost undrinkable. Not enough staff. Inadequate lighting at night on stairs.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Everything was great
7.1 Good
Cons: The property was badly designed. We had 130 steps to go to the restaurant. The slope route was very steep and we found that more difficult. In the frequent rain we just got soaked to go to the main building. There were absolutely no facilities on the beach and as my husband would of been unable to get up off the ground it was useless. The food in the restaurant was awful except for breakfast. Most days the salad bar consisted of a bowl of lettuce. One day they added grated carrot. The pasta dishes were glutinous messes. The soup was OK. The deserts were a choice from two tiny cakes or an ice-cream. Not what we have come to expect from an all inclusive resort. Although I had asked for a transfer to the hotel two months ago at least and reminded them the week before and when we were at Gatwick airport as requested by them day no attempt was made to send a driver. When we rang the hotel they offered to order a taxi for us. We got our own from the airport. Tobago itself was lovely and the people were lovely but I would urge anyone to think twice before booking this hotel. A couple who are vegetarians were starving hungry the whole week.
7.1 Good
Pros: I must say that the staff at the property were truly a pleasure and the most valuable asset to the establishment. Everyone was extremely kind, accommodating and assistive. Our room and the facility was also very clean. The food was very tasty as well with an offering of local dishes at the buffet as well as other items and great meals at the restaurant Caribbean Bistro.
Cons: There are various things that should be addressed by the owners of the facility: 1. The facility is in the West Indies on an island rich in culture with fantastic music. I’m not sure why local talent is not engaged to perform as entertainment. 2. Patrons should be informed ahead of time that the “all-inclusive” rate does not include bottled water and you must bring a water bottle with you to keep hydrated through the day and night. 3. The physical plant could use some upgrades. Our bathroom, although clean, need to have the bathtub, sink area and shower head replaced. The shower head look liked it had a combination of rust and black mold growing on it, the bath tub and shower tiles needed to be reglazed and the sink area needed to be professionally replaced. Also, the telephone in our room had no indication on who to call for what so we just pressed “0” every time we needed something and tried to get connected to another area.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location was nice, away from the busy town. The pool was clean and well maintained. The hotel grounds were very clean and tidy. The breakfast had a lot of variety and was very filling. The staff were generally friendly.
Cons: The bathroom fixtures were not clean. Part of the shower head fixture was detached from the wall. The white sheet had a dirty stain on it. The hairdryer did not work. The toilet at one point would not full the tank, everytime we flush we had to ensure the handle was back up so the tank would full. The WiFi was a struggle to deal with as it was not strong in the room to even browse Facebook comfortably, had to use my own data. The AC needed cleaning as it had dust build up on the vents. The TV was old and had very limited channels and was not HD. The hotel lacked entertainment.

Cons: The service at the reception desk when we first came it was off putting as we waited by the front desk, one receptionist shouted to us to have a seat as she was dealing with a couple in front of us. The tiles in the King room with ocean view looked like outdoor tiles very unbecoming of a hotel. I could hear kids quarreling loud in the neighboring room. Breakfast buffet servers were really rude especially the older guy making eggs and pancakes. We told him good day and asked where we can get pancakes. He ignores us for a while then proceeds to say good morning in a tone as if we had not acknowledged him by saying good day. We were glad we had just booked one night and we checked out early that morning, much before checkout time.

Pros: The breakfast was very good, and there was something for any taste. The chefs and manager at the restaurant were very friendly and kind. The pools were very good and the workout facility was old, but awesome, and i was possible to train fitness as well as crossfit. The location of the hotel is magnificent. The waves at the beach was sometimes a little bit rough, but the sand and beach i generel were outstanding and one of the best beaches we ever explored. At the northern end of the beach along the cliffs, it possible to get a good snorkling experience. The hotel is placed in a lovely and quite area, but there isn´t much to do, and the choice og restaurants and activities is limited. Rent a car, it´s easy to drive and come around the island. The car rental at the hotel is good, the car is decent and they got fair price and conditions.
Cons: The waitries at the restaurant made a poor and awful service, we had to ask for everything. A small example is when they bring coffee to the empty table, we also had to ank for cups for the coffee.. The reception staf were divided in a friendly and serviceminded group and and some who was absolute don´t care about the guests. The housekeeping was doing wat they should, without any sign of a smile, hospitality or a simple "good morning". The price for laundry was expensive compere to the hotels standard and costs around 130 USD for 13 pound.

Cons: We were charged extra for early check in, nevermind we only gained access to the rooms 1 hour before normal check in. The corridors were dingy, and one felt unsafe walking the corridors at night. the "Chef' was surly and behaved as if he were doing you a favour.

Cons: The beds
