Situated in a quiet rural setting it is an idea place for a relaxing stay. Food served in the pub Restaurant was superb and the staff very friendly. We were personally welcomed by the manageress who looked after us during our whole stay and always had the time for a chat and helpful advice.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was a lovely location and the hotel was nicely restored to respect its history.
Cons: 1. The bedroom was cold. Needed larger radiator (107) 2. As I was going to a friend’s birthday I asked at reception before I went out how I would get back in at midnight. They told me there was a night porter. When I returned the door was locked and I stood in the cold at midnight ringing the bell. There was no night porter. I called the property but it went to answering machine. I then looked around and found a door open, which led through the deserted bar with no staff anywhere. I was not happy about this experience. 3. When I checked out I expected to be asked how my stay was. I wasn’t. 4. Nobody checked the batteries in the TV remote and this prevented the tv being used.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is the third time I have stayed here and it has been consistently good. The staff are always friendly. Good food available and the breakfast is excellent. Nice rooms which have been recently refurbished.
Cons: Perhaps a better body wash dispenser in the shower as it was pretty hopeless.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Completely refurbished recently to a high standard. Room was spacious, light & airy and impeccably presented, with all the amenities needed. Situated in a quiet rural setting it is an idea place for a relaxing stay. Food served in the pub Restaurant was superb and the staff very friendly. We were personally welcomed by the manageress who looked after us during our whole stay and always had the time for a chat and helpful advice.
Cons: The 'Pub' is somewhat limited to one small room with the bulk of the available space being given to the restaurant. A nice cosy bar is badly needed as they is nowhere to sit and chat after a good meal.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived the hospitality was second to none. Room first class, bed lovely and comfortable, pillows perfect. The dining was outstanding, one of the best meals I've ever had. This is a jewel in the crown.
Cons: In my opinion there is nothing that could be improved.
