The quiet, non-smoking Hotel St Georg is located in a complex of 3 traditional, timber-framed buildings. Each of its modern rooms has a minibar and a private bathroom. Wi-Fi access is available free of charge. A large breakfast buffet can be ordered each morning at the St Georg. During the day, guests can enjoy coffee. The Hotel St Georg is a good base for hiking and cycling through the Lüneburg Heath Nature Park and along the River Aller. Children will also enjoy the playground, just 100 metres away. Hanover is 30 minutes away by car.

Pros: Very good small hotel near the centre of Celle. Very clean and comfortable room and bathroom and an excellent breakfast. Hotel is situated in a lovely quiet street with no traffic - free public parking is available nearby but we parked our motorbike at the property for a small fee. The hotel is very quaint but has all the mod cons.

Pros: This hotel is a gem. Located only 5-10 min walking distance from Celle Old Town. Large rooms and everything clean. Super friendly staff and excellent breakfast.
Cons: The hotel has tons of "old style" charm but it also means you have to carry your luggage in narrow stairs if you like us get rooms at the top floor.

Pros: Very good place to stay for a night when passning through. Free parking nearby if u arrive in time. 5-10 min walk to the old parts of town. Difficult to find, partly due to roadworks nearby, partly due to odd entrance to the street.

Cons: The hotel is a few minutes from the city center, too long for a walk (with nagging kids at least). If you have a car (like I had) then there is no problem

Restaurant (breakfast) room was very clean, beautiful. My room was also very nice, clean and quiet. Comfortable bed, great bathroom. There was a sponge cake on my pillow and regional, mineral water in a glass of wine. Tablet with WiFi, cable flat TV, a couple of lights, wardrobe and soft rug. Staff speaks English fluently; they were really kind and helpful. Even, offered me a map of Celle.

Located in the town of Celle, Hotel am Eckernweg has free Wi-Fi and offers modern rooms in a peaceful location. It is a 45-minute drive to the Hanover conference centre. All rooms at Hotel am Eckernweg are designed in classic style using light colours. They feature a flat-screen TV and include an en suite bathroom with a hairdryer. It is a 5-minute drive to Celle Old Town which includes a palace, museum and a historic church. Guests can also hike in the Lower Saxony countryside, and bikes are available from the hotel. Pros: we didn't have breakfast as it was a continental style and we like a full English, the only thing we were disappointed with was we could have made ourselves a cup of tea if there had been a kettle in the room and a couple of cups we were in Germany for five days and could not get a cuppa anywhere only coffee, other than that yens and his partner were helpful and nothing was too much trouble, would certainly recommend it for a short stay but it would need a swimming pool to entice me to stay longer, but then the pricing would not be so good. shall stay there next time we visit Germany

This lovingly restored and romantic timbered building offers rooms and studios and is situated in the lovely countryside around Celle, right on the Aller River. Relax in the comfortable and charmingly decorated guest rooms and enjoy the wonderful views of the surrounding landscape through large windows. The sun terrace, set amidst flora and fauna, provides tranquil hours, and the extensive park gardens invite you to explore and find a cosy spot. Why not take the hotel canoe out on the river or rent a bicycle to appreciate the scenery.

Pros: A very nice small hotel with an excellent evening restaurant. Situated in walking distance from Celle (OK 4-5-6 + km and you have to get back again). Staff and service was excellent and a nice park around the hotel, beds very fine and room very clean. We had dinner 2 evenings and both were perfect. WiFi was ok.
Cons: Restaurant closed in the after noons and the whole of monday. Breakfast was OK, but not the best we have seen in Germany, i.e no eggs?. Room price in the high end.

Cons: We came at around eight o'clock p.m. and the hotel was not staffed. Had to call a number for instructions how to get the key and how to find the parking. Very awkward. Especially since the hotel parking was 100m back in a one-way street. Took us a good 30 minutes to access the hotel since the many streets were closed.

No cooking options, except coffee and tea preparation set, but no problem – lots of restaurants around. Room was on a third floor, no elevator. Cons: The BBC Channel wasn't working on arrival. we reported the problem the following morning which was a Friday. Problem wasn't resolved by Saturday and was told they did not have a technician over the weekend and that they had problems getting one. In summary the BBC channel didn't work for the 4 days that we were there. However on checkout the receptionist refunded us the cost of 4 breakfasts as compensation. Thank you for that.

Pros: The staff do a wonderful job at this hotel. They’re friendly, sensible and efficient. The rooms are clean and the breakfast had lots of good quality choices. The hotel is a short walk to the Franzosischer Garten, which is on the edge of the Old Town. They have their own free parking area behind the premises. A quality hotel.

Pros: Family run (for 19 generations!) cozy hotel with great service. I was there with a large group who had booked many rooms and check-in was very efficient. We had a private room for dinner with our group and it was very spacious and perfect for us. The 3-course meal had been prearranged and was good. (Plus, we enjoyed the excellent selection of cocktails in the lounge before dinner.) This is not a luxury hotel and is a bit dated but was an excellent experience for what it was.
Cons: The tiniest twin beds I've seen with a wood frame around them - I called it a doll's bed. However, I slept fine, so it was not a problem.

The Klosterhof is just 10 km from Celle, between Braunschweig and Hanover. Landhotel Klosterhof features a historic façade. The charming rooms are individually furnished in a country-house style. Pros: We Have stayed at this Hotel before on recommendation from Booking.com and we were pleased with alfacilities then. On this occasion the same applies, very pleased and highly recommended. The Hotel only offers an excellent breakfast but right next door is a Pub which all types of ales and meals.

Pros: The hotel is in s good location and staff were friendly. Everything was very clean. We arrived early and our bags were stored for us. After we checked out, we were permitted to still use the pool and sauna, which was great. Our room was lovely, however I found the see through stripes in a panel in the bathroom strange, as you can see the person in the bathroom in the shower when you are in bed. The shower was easy to use and powerful.
Cons: The room service lady came into my room at 8.55am, I don’t know why she would need to come in so early. Luckily I had showered and was dressed. Other people in my party had several visits from room service, where they kept entering their room, for what seemed like no reason. The reception desk was not always manned, and when returning from a party at 1 am, there was no one at the desk and I made my way into the hotel and up the stairs without the use of a key and no one at reception to see who was coming in/going out. I’m not sure how safe this is. On the whole, a lovely hotel, that I would stay in again.

Pros: Location on the North side of the old town accessible by path and footbridge in 10 minutes. Restaurants are all in old town. Town has strong links with British Hanoverian Royal Family and there is a Schloss or Palace with a lot about them in it. The local product is honey from flowers on Luneburg Heath.
Cons: Booking.Com maps which are most misleading. It is easy to get lost given the circular nature of many roads. Old town is someway from the station but there are buses such as No 13 between the station and the Schloss on the western side of the old town - fare €1.50.

Pros: If you like old traditional style then this is the hotel for you. Lots of character in an excellent location. Friendly staff and great breakfast.
Cons: We had a little sun room attached to our bedroom. It was lovely but as it didn't seem to have been used very much was a bit dusty. The hotel would benefit from a bar//lounge area for residents to relax after a busy day.

Pros: Lovely room and location. The triple room is on the 3rd floor which was a little inconvenient but overall loved the location and facility. We travelled across Germany and the 3rd bed was the best of them all
Cons: The only negative was we ran out of hot water for three of us to all have morning shower. There was a minibar in the room but no coffee available in the room.

Pros: We had booked a family room and almost got an entire flat. Extremely spacious with its own fridge. The house itself is quite quaint if a little worn down. The breakfast was ok-ish but fairly priced (€ 8).
Cons: Our room was on the second floor just below the roof of the house and had no AC. This is a huge problem during a period of relentless sun and 36 degrees celsius. It really was unbearably hot when we arrived.

WE walkd back to the hotel, then we had see a big M. There had we a good meal. We buyed some things at the ARAL shop for drinking at the room. When we came back in the hotel they asked us how the diner in the other hotel was. WE told them that it was closed. They did not know that. We had 2 free biers for mij friend and myself as compansation.

Pros: We have stayed here a number of times and never have a issue. A great hot and cold breakfast with wide ranging options including great coffee and tea.
Cons: The hotel was very quiet for nights 1 and 2 but the last night was horrendous . The hotel had a large group of children which appeared to be unsupervised at many times. This party had NO RESPECT for other guests. The lazy late start on Sunday morning was disrupted by loud, disrespectful children that really didn't care about their surroundings. Running up and down the corridors, blocking the elevators and being a general nuisance. The teachers or supervisors HAD NO CONTROL. I felt sorry for the duty hotel staff that tried to overcome the issues. However, I do blame the hotel management for booking these guests. Staying in the same hotel wings as general guests did not work. The large party should have been segregated including at the breakfast time (it was so loud at breakfast, it was unbearable). THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. The hotel management must take this into account when they accept future large children groups in their hotel. I suggest the hotel reviews its policy and arrangements in these circumstances.

Breakfast is one important factor (more than dinner) for me when I travel somewhere for vacation. The breakfast at this hotel was very good in terms of quality and variety of food and more importantly the atmosphere. I really enjoyed it!
Cons: I think the hotel was doing some maintenance works and there was smell of the paint in the room. It was ok for a night but if my stay would have been longer, I would've requested the hotel to change the room.

And it was to 11. Very convenient when arriving late the night before. I have been on the road for almost 40 years as a musician, and I've seen the most. This is one of the places you remember simply because you feel welcome, and the staff treat you very kindly. Rooms are what you expect for in this range. Very comfy beds :-) Our room had a small fridge, and they put our cooling elements in their freezer overnight. Small things that matter.
