Don't rent from Alamo in Cartagena, Colombia!Pros: The agent at the rental agency was nice.Cons: When we got off the plane in Cartagena we couldn't find an Alamo Rental agency! So we took a taxi. When we got to the rental agency, they said that they never received a notification of our rental & had no vehicles available. They got on the telephone but couldn't get any resolution. We got a taxi & he was able to find us a rental but the price was very high & the insurance we had purchased was useless.

very good..Pros: Price exelent!!!Cons: Some times delivery service is nesecesary and comfortabble to drop off.. gasoline must be refaund i live extra gasoline and i didnt get any money back!!
Pros: Yes the staff was friendly however, they had no solution to provide a better vehicle which I had contracted for and I was charged for a lower class vehicle at the same rate I contracted for....the air conditioner did not work most of the time, the windshield wipers were all worn out, the rear seats were broken, etc etc etc. Extremely disappointed that a rental company such as AVIS doesn't have a quality control standard in place at their dealers to provide quality vehicles.Cons: The entire experience.

Pros: I did not like anything. I could not rent the car, and you took 40 dollars from my card, and you have not returned it yet, even though the company sent a message that there were not available cars. Therefore, I want my money back.Cons: Do not book a car where there is not available one.

DisappointedPros: Service at the pick up location was courteous and very professional.Cons: The car was not what we expected as it did not match what we had seen on the internet site. It had no power steering which made it difficult to drive especially in Columbia where everyone drives really aggressively and without obeying any basic rules. Car was over priced.

Poor servicePros: They stayed open we arrive late (8.58pm when they close at 9pm) due to flight delay.Cons: The car was a wreck with big scratches all over and it was lacking features which are now common on most cars even the cheapest. Tank wasn't full either. We thought about returning it several times but since it still took us from point A to point B, we preferred spending our time discovering the country instead. However, the drop-off was a nightmare. The employee at Santa Marta came up with new (tiny) scratches in the most random places and made us call the Cartagena office to explain it wasn't our fault. They said they will review all pictures of the car to determine whether it was caused by us with no apologies for the inconvenience. This whole thing took close to an hour, making us rush for our plane. We had substantially better service with Localiza for our rental between Bogota and Medellin, even though they are not international players. Avoid Avis.

Drop-off NightmareCons: No one at the Cartagena office informed me that there was no office or personnel at the specified drop-off location at the Santa Marta airport.

Avis CartagenaPros: The rep was very helpful and explained everything we needed to know. Including where the traffic cameras were located.Cons: The vehicle was provided with no wind shield wiper fluid. There is also a restriction on vehicle usage in Colombia biased on you tag number. So there was one day that we were not able to use the rental so in essence we paid for a day that we were not able to us the car. Returning the car was a very slow process almost as long as picking it up. They inspected the car with a fine tooth comb, over kill if you ask me.
Pros: We called to say We were on the way and they said they didn't have a car for us until 4 o'clock in the afternoon and it was 8 o'clock in the morning Our reservation for pick up That hourCons: They Not have your car as scheduled

Pros: First they require a $1000 dollar deposit for your rentalnwhichbisnt stipulated anywhere on the site or after making reservation. 2nd...the car initially had AC and after about an hour after driving off, the air turned off and never turned back on. I was already in route to Barranchila and couldn't turn back. This truly ruined our drive as we had to endure the heat for our extended ride. I returned the car 1 day early and explained to the budget rep the situation and he refused to refund the money for the extra day that I chose to not keep the car. Shady business practices and they forced me to buy the local insurance although I explained to them that my AMEX Platinum covered the insurance. I would never go back to Budget Cartagena. Never ever.Cons: Get rid of this budget rental office. They run it like a extortionist renegade franchise. Truly making my experience with budget one to never want to rent a car again from. They should redund the day I didn't use the car.

Pros: The priceCons: Getting a car took 2 hours and the tank only had a 1/8 of a tank of gas.
2.0 Mediocre21 Aug 2019
Pros: N/A because they didn’t have my car upon arrivalCons: Budget didn’t have my car available upon arrival to the Cartagena airport so we had to find another rental company that cost $300 US dollars instead of the $130 we were expecting to pay. It was a horrible experience.
2.0 Mediocre14 Aug 2019
Pros: NothingCons: They gave us the most beat up worst car they had. It broke down on us and we had to call Budget to get car towed. No replacement car given nor they refund us the two days not used. As per their agent, the car broke down at noon so it’s considered a rental day if past 12pm. Never rent from them!!!

Cons: When at the car pickup counter in the early morning (7 was the pickup time), the guy wouldn’t show up until 8 AM. Returning was easy tho. 2 week’s after my credit card was charged with an additional 150 bucks and I still don’t know what for because they don’t reply to my emails. Tourist ripoff

Cons: Car with no gas, lots of dents, took way too long check in and check out. overall one of the worst car rental experiences I have ever had.

On-street parking spots are sometimes available, but they fill up quickly in busy areas and shouldn’t be depended on.
