Pros: Nothing.Cons: Our flight landed after the location at the airport closed. We though that since we had done online check in we would still be able to pick up our car. We were wrong. When we arrived there was no car for us, no one at the counter who could help us, and even if there had been a car all of the exits were blocked so we wouldn't have been able to get out. We had to call several numbers and wait on hold for over half an hour before getting in touch with the national line. We were told there was nothing they could do for us until the location opened the next day but they would be able to cancel our reservation. The area we were visiting doesn't have other reliable means of transportation so we were stuck in the airport for over 2 hours just trying to find a way to get where we needed to go. They should at least have offered us an Uber/taxi credit but they said they could nothing to help us. We weren't the only travelers in this situation. There were two other individuals on our flight who had booked rentals from Alamo that were also stuck without a car, late at night, stranded at the airport.

Pros: Nothing, was unable to use EnterpriseCons: I booked reservation for 9pm. My flight was delayed 1.25h and when I arrived in Memphis, the Enterprise desk was closed. There was no warning or anything about it closing at 10p on the website or anything and at the desk no instructions on how to go about getting my rental from another desk. Had to walk around for an hour finding another rental place. At least 4 other parties were left stranded without rentals at 10p on a Thursday night.

Pros: It was a very easy car rental. As soon as I walked up to the Avis rental agent she asked for my last name, took my I'd and credit card and I signed the agreement via the terminal and I was able to quickly leave. The car was very clean and very comfortable. It drove very well. Plus it was a nice looking car. Also the agent was very friendly.Cons: They switched the type of car I had agreed to when I made the reservation. At first it was a Galant but they changed it to an eclipse although I liked the eclipse better. It was a small SUV. Since I had a one way they said the Galant wasnt available for a one way rental. I was surprised they held an extra $150.00 on my credit card in addition to the rental price until I brought the car back on time which I did. I don't remember seeing the hold fee at the time the reservation was made. After I returned the car I remember hearing the agent say it would take several days for the hold fee to drop off. The vehicle had these very dark smudges around the back. It was dimly lit in the garage where I took possession of the car. So when I drove out I stopped and took a video of the car and photos. I did this to make sure I was protected and that they would not claim that I had committed any damage that was on the car before I took possession. It appeared that at some point someone had black duck tape around the back because I could see where large pieces of tape had been peeled off but this thick sticky residue remained. It didnt bother me because the car still drove fine but I sent a photo to Avis Facebook messenger with my confirmation number to let them see it. Regular washing would not take that off. Maybe a special type of chemical could remove it. The car had been washed but the tape residue was still there and very noticeable. Last, I picked up the car at the Memphis International Airport. I should have been informed that I go the 1st floor, instead of the 2nd floor, to process the rental because the 2nd floor is only for people with an Avis Preferred account. After the paperwork is processed on the 1st floor, I then had to go to the 3rd floor where the vehicles were kept to get the car.

This is unacceptable for you to allow a reservation for a specific time and there be no cars available. There were a lot of customers up there waiting. Pros: I made the reservation for the vehicle 2 months prior to the pick up date. When we arrived in Memphis Airport we were told there were no vehicles available. The Thrifty agent said they were cleaning vehicles when they came in and it would be approx 2-3 hours before a vehicle was available!! We waited almost 3 hours for a car!!!!! The Thrifty agent was completely matter of fact and didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. I will NEVER rent from this company again!Cons: The entire experience!!!!!

The rep from Avis at the next counter gave me the same deal since no one was working at Payless. Also, when I called to inquire about a baby car seat the automated phone system required that I provide an "Access Code", whatever that is, to complete the call and I was not able to get anyone on the phone to assist. I will never use this junk company again.

Pros: I liked the carCons: I did not speak or talk to any representative from Payless. At both pickup and dropoff I had to be assisted by an Avis rep. The reps for Payless were “unavailable”, no one did a car inspection at pickup or drop off. Next time I will just go to Avis. They’re reps were available and ready to assist another company’s customers. I find it odd that he even had passwords and such to log into the payless system being he wasn’t a payless employee.
Cons: Give traveling business folks options to adjust their drop off locations during emergencies when they need to modify reservations. It is ridiculous this can’t be done when most of your customers are business people during the week. I won’t be returning.

We had no assistance with our child seat. The car we picked up was dirty and not in great shape. The overall pick up experience took more than an hour. Pros: Car was nice! Which I suppose is the most important part. Clean, odor-free, got a size upgrade, which as a 6’3” man I appreciated. Drop-off was easy and the employee at the Jackson location couldn’t have been nicer.Cons: It literally took longer for me to pick up my car in Memphis than my incoming flight from Atlanta took. It was well over an hour before keys were placed in my hands due to a slow moving line at the pickup counter (my representative was lovely, but had to constantly stop service to assist the other representative. Lovely gesture, slowed down service), and then once I got upstairs to the pickup counter, the crew in the garage could not have been any less helpful. My car was ready, but I had to wait another 30-45 minutes in the line just to be talked to to simply pick up my keys. I hate being that sort of Karen, but there is a line where the service becomes so terrible I can’t keep it to myself. Especially after having to travel last second for a family emergency, this lack of service and consideration for my time and business will keep me from booking Budget in the future unless it’s the only option available, especially at Memphis.

Pros: Drop off was smooth other than the fact employee checked out customer who returned car after me first as he was more aggressive to the window.Cons: Wait time for car, I reserved in advance, was well over an hour. Then desk staff asked me if I wanted to wait “ for my car” or take a mid size SUV upgrade. I asked if there was a charge, she said yes yet could not tell me how much til she ran my credit card. Then proceeded to tell me it was$11 more for the wkd, and at frustration to just get a car I agreed. My car was not an upgrade as I was to have an intermediate suv like “ a Nissan Rogue”. In fact I got a compact Nissan Kicks which my 6’5” passenger hardly fit. Just irritated that you charged ME extra, Gabe me a smaller car, and could do so because customers are already angry waiting for so long to get out of the airport

My pickup was for 4 pm, but I vwas told that I would have to either go to the airport in the truck with no tags or wait until someone from the airport could bring it. Brand new vehicle.Cons: Called a few days ahead to change my pickup to one hour earlier, but reservations told there was no availability and the price would change.
