Get ready for a walk from station to car rental agency. Do not rent a big car in France, Town streets are narrow and watch carefully the speed limits. Bikers , scooters etc everywhere need full attention even if there is a lot of dedicated lanes for them. Otherwise driving in France is great and the roads are very good. Best option is also to rent a med size Hybrid as gas prices per liter are high.

The Bordeaux-St. Jean location was excellent. Efficient at checking in and returning the car with very friendly staff. The car was clean, low mileage and incredibly comfortable. And the price was cheap! Highly recommend.
The Sixt teams in Bordeaux are excellent—friendly, efficient, helpful. Definitely my favorite car rental in France.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Email from Sixt explaining where to find the office was very appreciated. For a city location, the pickup/dropoff location was more convenient than most.
Excellent experience picking up the car. The team at the Bordeaux train station made everything so easy and efficient! We were on our way only minutes after arriving to pick up our car. Then, dropping off at Orly airport, Paris was also super efficient. The gentleman who greeted us even ran off to retrieve a luggage cart for us. We have rented four cars during the past 6 weeks, and this was the best experience picking up/ dropping off.
It was alright. Did not have a similar car as requested. The maintenance needs to be better the tire pressure was low and below minimum on fluid.

Thanks for a great hire experience. Very friendly & helpful staff in Bordeaux. Unfortunately there was no person at the desk in Beauvais, on our return. Car was great, better than the booking suggestion 🙂
The pickup and drop off location is near the train station and there is a lot of construction there making access difficult. The office itself is small and not very nice, The car was a newer very small Toyota that worked well for us and got good gas mileage,
Geneva Drop off ,French side of airport. Not well organized. Delays in returning car due to lack of employees. One person to cover new car rentals and car return on different parts/floor of building
Some Bordeaux car providers already include Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection Waiver into the hire price but not all of them. We recommend being aware of your coverage when hiring a car in Bordeaux.
