Overview

Quiet and close to the centre of Coburg, the Best Western Blankenburg Hotel, Coburg, Germany, is a cozy hotel with a personal feel, comfortable rooms with satellite TV and free Wi-Fi, a relaxed hotel bar for a beer or a glass of wine, and reduced-rate access to a nearby adventure pool with saunas and a giant slide. The old town, the grand Schlossplatz, the theatre and the court gardens are all within a stroll, with the lively pedestrian zone close by. A motorway link lies a short drive off. Coburg is a Franconian town of grand old palaces, the seat of the house of Saxe-Coburg whose marriages linked it to royal families across Europe. The mighty Veste Coburg, one of Germany's largest fortresses, crowns the hill above town with its art collections, the Ehrenburg palace and the elegant Schlossplatz recall the old ducal court, and the wooded hills of the Coburg Land roll out around it. Bratwurst grilled over pine cones is the local speciality.
