Overview

In a calm, pleasant setting between vineyards and forest, the Sure Hotel by Best Western Dole, in Dole, France, is a fully renovated three-star easily reached and well placed for the town, the station, and the airport, with a contemporary, refined decor suited to a weekend break or a business trip. The rooms run from standard to superior with a queen or twin beds, each decorated with care and fitted with the comforts for a restful stay. The quiet, green surroundings keep the days unhurried. Dole rises in tiers above the river Doubs in the Jura, an old Burgundian capital of stone lanes climbing to a great collegiate church, the birthplace of the scientist Louis Pasteur, with the vast Chaux forest, the visionary royal saltworks of Arc-et-Senans, and the vineyards and waterfalls of the Jura close by. Along the canal, the old tanners' houses reflect in the slow water below the church.
