Located perfectly for a Dublin visit at great price. The hostess is very nice, her help also very much so. The house is old, which is not a problem, it has charme. The room and bathroom were clean. The nights were quiet. Breakfast was basic and ok, on the last day we had to help ourselves which was ok. Wifi was working well.
We had the souterrain room which smelled pretty bad, so we had to leave the window open, then it was bearable. According to the landlady it is safe. At night there was only cold water in the shower. The beds varied between pretty bad and ok. The TV did not work.
Host was very helpful. We could use the kitceh which was a bonus.
No meet and greet on arrival. In fact never saw the owner of the guest house for the duration of our stay. Double quilts folded in half on single beds? Washing on the airer in the breakfast room. Mildew in the shower. There were towels provided that had once been white but now a pale shade of grey. The white yowls provided felt like trying to dry off with sandpaper. When asked what we wanted to drink for breakfast we requested tea but they didn’t have any. No hot water on our first day. Could feel the springs through the mattress and the bed base had seen better days. Room advertised with a TV, there was one but it didn’t work. The cost hangars in the wardrobe were covered in cobwebs and fluff. The bottom shelf was also covered in dust. Definitely would not stay again or recommend.
Very friendly owner. Lovely location. Excellent value for money.
Breakfast could be a little bit more fresh (there were some outdated breads and quite smelly butter).
Last minute booking very helpful host got me sorted and into the property
Couldn’t get the tv to work
