Pros: Picked us up and dropped us off at the airport - have a free tour of the village!
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Adorable two bedroom cabin with living room, wrap-around patio, full kitchen, and washing machine. Spotless and new- extremely comfortable. Lovely, quiet location about 15 min walk south of town. Perfect for families. Christophe is very kind and helpful, and his restaurant recommendations are spot on.
Cons: Like most establishments on the island, payment is in cash only- so it's best to come prepared. Banks are only open for a few hours in the mornings and not all cards are accepted at the ATMs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Have traveled all over the world, and stayed at some amazingly well appointed properties. NONE have come close to the hospitality and forethought and attention to details experienced here. I can not overstate how lucky we were to stay with Christophe and his family.
Cons: If there was a downside, it is only that the walk into town is a bit far. There are cars to rent right here and actually cheaper than in town. Zero to complain about!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: gorgeous setting
Cons: Location is both wonderful and a bit remote from town. If no car, get ready to walk 1.5 miles each way. Doable during day. Avoid after sunset. Taxis hard to find and rely on.

£1002+
Overview Reviews
Situated in Hanga Roa, this luxury property is 0.1 mi (0.1 km) from Hanga Roa National Park and within 3 mi (5 km) of Vaihu and Ahu Akahanga. Terevaka and Puna Pau are also within 6 mi (10 km).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything: the best guides, hikes that no one else does, friendly and professional staff who go the extra mile for your needs. This hotel cannot be beat on Rapa Nui.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Explora Hotels have the best guides who are very knowledgable. The tours were amazing. The food was delicious. The room was terrific with beautiful views. I had a fantastic experience. I am so glad I stayed at the property. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Cons: I wish they had an option of an all-day tour with a boxed lunch rather than a morning and afternoon tour which required returning to the hotel for a three-course meal. The hotel was very accommodating and gave me fuller days, but it was easier to do since it was low-season. I would also like a rate that didn't include alcohol since I don't drink.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Explora offered outstanding service from the time I arrived to Eastern Island to the time I left. I signed up for some of the half day tour options that gave me a very good idea of the many sites in the island. I enjoyed the food a lot; a great introduction to Chilean flavors paired with pretty good wines. The hotel blends in with surronding nature and provides a luxury that is dear to me: comfortable, green, and not kitschy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely excellent - everything that is essential is of outstanding standard. Rooms, food, service, excursions. The guides are very good and perfect advocates for the island and local culture.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely people running the property. Excellent location, easy walk to town. Close to restaurants and the waterfront. Our unit was cleaned daily and we were left fresh juice and fruits often! Also were greeted with lovely flower leis on arrival and Moai necklaces on departure! Such thoughtful touches!
Cons: Nothing!
7.1 Good
Pros: Location and it was mostly clean.
Cons: Very basic rooms with small fan for cooling the room. No safe box in rooms for securing valuables and the room itself is not secure. Shower is challenging to use as the shower head was not properly mounted.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location, Rosy was really helpful (even with our non existent Spanish). Pickup and drop off to and from the airport was included. Facilities were all really clean.
Cons: Kitchen was pretty basic. Garden was lovely but could have been more outdoor furniture to make the most of it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location in “town” but well back from main road so no noise. Comfy bed. Lovey owner who included airport pick up and drop off in the price.
Cons: It was expensive for what it was but so is pretty much everything on the island so can’t complain.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners are very wonderful, kind and caring hosts. We felt very much at home and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The pick up and drop from the airport made it so much easier for us and the location is fabulous - close to all the key places like beach, main street and shopping areas.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, owner, service
Cons: No WIFI
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was charming and Rosa our hostess very friendly and brought us fresh passion fruit from her beautiful garden. This is a simple and charming place to stay, very well situated and just right for Rapa Nui.

Cons: All perfect for us.

Big green field in front of the rooms with frangipani trees and chickens. An an outdoor movie screen! Ample parking for rented jimny!
Cons: Could have done with a bedside light.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner Pepe is super friendly and gives useful tips on Easter Island. He can also help book tour on discounted prices.
Cons: Cockroaches are a problem in Easter Island. The owner and his helpers tried their best to keep the site clean but there are still cockroaches.
7.1 Good
Pros: It had a lot of open space and places to hang out. The kitchen is also organized in a way that everyone has their own space for their things. More hostels should have that. Also every room has their own drying rack. Got lots of information on tours and got good deals as well.
Cons: No microwave, toaster, or fans. Maybe they have an electricity issue. No screens on the windows either. So if you want to cool down your room, it’s leaving your window open without screens. WiFi is so slow.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Welcoming hosts. Small, but clean and adequate room. Spotless bathrooms. Spacious garden area. Watermelon in the afternoons.
Cons: Worst WiFi ever. But apparently it is like this everywhere on the island.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Helpful owners and staff, everything we needed for our visit to Easter Island. Cabin was very comfortable. Bed supersized. Kitchen well resourced.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This hostel was better than i expected. The beds were really comfortable with hot showers. Its a very chilled out place. They picked us up and dropped us off at the airport. Its location is great with only 10-15mins from the centre. Pepe was always attentive with his guests and ensured we were ok for everything.
Cons: The downfall was that the wifi is not that great and only works in certain parts of the hostel. Plus the kitchen doesnt have basic facilities such as, oil, butter, tea/coffee so they all need to be bought when getting the groceries.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: You can walk to the airport by foot. Turn right from the gate and walk about 200m till the sign. The hotel looks new and clean. The wifi works. Note, that mobile internet almost does not work on the island.
Cons: I booked it because of the pool. Turned out that you do not need a pool on that island.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was very a very nice crew, very friendly and helpful. The hotel looks exactly like the pictures in their web site, so that was very good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s a cosy, well kept place
Cons: The only downside was the WiFi, but that’s across the island.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This property was very clean and quiet. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast included eggs cooked to order, meats, cheeses, fruits, fresh fruit juice, toast, avocado and breakfast treats. The rooms have a small fridge in them. The rooms all have a sliding door that opens up towards the pool area. It was August when we stayed and no one used the pool but it was nice to lookout. You can walk here from the airport - it is about 2 blocks and there is a sidewalk which is made mainly of bricks - but it is still fine to roll your suitcase on. The rooms have tile floors, comfortable beds and was larger than we expected. (We had a king plus twin bed in our room.)
Cons: The wifi was often not working which sounds like it is common on the whole island.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were fabulous. Grounds were excellent and the pool was a nice treat! From the other options available this was one of the best spots on the island.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: very clean and very private;nice place with a good breakfast
Cons: It was a little far from town but walkable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Service from the reception staff. Very helpful in getting started in exploring the island. The rooms are spacious and the hotel grounds were well maintained. The included breakfast was also rather good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was amazing - fresh eggs, fruit, coffee and fresh juice. The pool and the garden area is the perfect place for a wedding or vow renewal. The dining area is wonderful place to host your private dinner or reception. This quiet boutique hotel is the perfect place for your wedding and honeymoon vacation on Easter Island - Rapa Nui. The island is filled with magic and the staff is outstanding! Puku Vai is a special place within a easy walk to town and other activities. You are going to LOVE this beautiful island and hotel - www.WorldClassWeddingVenues.com - Say "I Do" Worldwide!
Cons: Our team at World Class Wedding Venues - Say "I Do" Worldwide just wished we could have stayed longer. Our next visit to Puku Vai will be for three weeks. WCWV is planning our next adventure with more allowance of time - need to plan to stay for two weeks in this hotel.

Featured amenities include luggage storage and laundry facilities. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was ample and tasty. Eggs were made to order. The scrambled were moist and in a separate cruet to keep then warm. Lots of meats, cheese, bread, coffee or tea, wonderful fruit and juices. Perfect location in town close to everything with an ocean view from the breakfast veranda which we also enjoyrd a drink before dinner. Paula, the manager, offered spot on advice and was willing to arrange taxis. Feel very lucky to have found this on-line.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything: room comfort, room decor, hotel decor, hotel view, breakfast; but most of all was Paula's excellent customer and concierge service!!!!
Cons: Nothing was to my dislike!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved almost everything: the kind owners, the helpful staff, the excellent location, the beautifully decorated and very clean buildings and room, the sea views from my room, the small local museum, the garden with sculptures, the very clean large bathroom with warm water at any time, the delicious breakfast with many options, also for vegetarians.
Cons: I would have prefered a harder bed. The area of the rooms with sea views is different from the area for breakfast, not far away, but it is necessary to walk on a busy road with uneven pavement, a little uncomfortable for people like me with mobility issues.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This property was one of the best places I've stayed at during my travels. To start, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, allowing us to check in a bit early when we arrived with no issues whatsoever. The room we had was amazing, It was extremely clean and well maintained and gave off a cozy vibe even though it was right in the heart of Rapa Nui. Speaking of location, the location can't be beat. The room had a view of the ocean which was about 30 feet away, and everything is within walking distance... scuba, food, shops, banks, etc. For those that car, the bed was extremely comfortable as well. The breakfast offered is wonderful as well. There are choices for everyone with fresh food, coffee, and juices. The staff was always kind and helped with any questions we had (our were surrounding timing to be at certain sites). Overall, staying here would only help make anyone's amazing experience on Easter Island even better.
Cons: To preface the only downside we found, I want to admit this could have been our own fault on not knowing times, etc. That said, the only issue was hot water. We had hot water, just maybe a minute or so of it at night. Admittedly, this may be the reason due to hot water heaters, etc., but we were out all day which left late nights the only time to shower.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place was suggested by a friend who stayed there in August. I trusted him and booked. The communication with Paula before arriving was super smooth. She arranged a taxi to pick us up and everything was perfect. The room had an amazing view (I add a picture) just in front of the bay of Hanga Roa. It was very clean, and with all the comfort needed for us (a little fridge, the boiler with a little supplier of tea and coffee, a ventilator, the hairdryer, an extra towel to go to the beach). The bed was super comfy, and we slept like babies cradled by the sound of the ocean. Though when you enter the room at the beginning you feel the room as warm, during the night it was rather fresh, and we ended up never using the ventilator though it was the middle of summer. Breakfast was served across the street, in a lovely place with a little patio. Wi-Fi was available in the place where we had breakfast, and for the island standard the connection was quite good. For breakfast there was a good choice of ham/salami, cheese, different kind of bread, jam, dulce de leche, fresh fruits, yogurt, cereals, freshly made *yummy* juice, and Alvaro would offer to prepare eggs every morning. Everything was fresh, a very nice way to start the day. Paula gave us also nice tips about place to eat, events to attend for New Year's Eve, she was an amazing host. Our holiday was wonderful, and I can really recommend this place. Thanks a lot Paula and Alvaro!
Cons: Everything was perfect!
5.0 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was decent , but everything else fell short . The light blue building creates a fascade of what is being offered and well , it largely fell sub par, especially at the price of 756$ for 3 nights
Cons: Our bedroom and bathroom floor was sticky despite it being apparently cleaned, which suggests that dirty water and mops were used. The staff weren't available on the premises after 1pm , you had to go and speak to them at their respective houses. There was incredibly poor WiFi which was absent for 1.5 days of our 3 day stay there. There was no water provided, we were often dry throated all day, water was expensive to purchase at the local store and la Perouse didn't even provide a vessel to collect water in. We were advised to get water from the breakfast room which was largely closed all Day or go to outside the owner's house and collect it from there . I think this is proposterous given water is a vital need of humans and little provision was provided for it .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff. Very good food.
Cons: Seating in the upscale restaurant was uncomfortable.
4.6 Okay
Pros: The location is nice the architecture the quality and size of bed !
Cons: All around Hotel is full signs and metal items with black flags that covet the view ,because is a battle with a local family that said that hotel was bild on ancestry cemetery.....Stay in hotel is Tabu ! It was a little bit scaring when you read all the sign ! The service is like a 2 star hotel ! The cleaness and the service very basic ! You can not walk in the room without slipper ,you get in 5 minutes black feet. The quality of the food is poor ,at breakfast small fresh fruit choice ,no fresh juice ... When in the island you find plenty of Pinapple and Banana ...In 6 days we didn ‘t find at breakfast! The maintenance is very bad ,dirty pool and surrounding, the pool chair very old and with wet mattress and towel ! At 22.30 the bar was closed not possible to have a drink ! The sofa in the breakfast room and the chair in the room very dirty We put a towel to sit ! On our arriving we have to wait more than 30 minutes to get the transfer and when the bus is coming ,not hotels bus but Mahina travel bus ,we have to cross the airpot plaza with luggages undera big thunderstorms we arrive at hotel lobby wet with dirty lugguages and shoes ! Never happens like that in my life ! And if you think that you book and pay for five star service !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The front desk staff was great with all our questions, shuttles were perfect, breakfast offerings varied and tasty, the mattress was firm and very comfortable BUT the blanket much, much too heave for warm weather. Towels were large and absorbent.
Cons: The breakfast staff seemed totally disinterested and even after 5 days it was an effort to get a cup of coffee
7.9 Good
Pros: It’s a beautiful property, close to the ocean and to the downtown area. The breakfast and restaurants are fairly good and not severely overpriced.
Cons: Lack of service- management here has a real opportunity to institute a service culture. The staff here generally lack this, which is unforgiving for a self proclaimed luxury hotel. Every time I ask for help, they seem exasperated and certainly do not go out of their way to help. For example, when I asked if they could help push my spa appointment by 30min, the receptionist told me to talk to the spa directly and claimed they are still open when they are closed. Also, the restaurants seem quite under-staffed, especially during breakfast buffet. The workers are definitely hustling but quite overwhelmed, esp when you have a tour group.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is the perfect place to stay while on Rapa Nui (Easter Island). The property is situated right on the ocean and walkable to HangaRoa. The property has a wonderful zen feeling and the rooms are large and nicely appointed. The staff couldn’t be nicer and are helpful with booking tours right from the lobby. I had one of the best meals I’ve ever had at the restaurant- desserts are incredible! If you’re looking for a full-service property that’s sure to elevate your Easter Island experience, Hanga Roa Eco Village is the ideal choice.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff is first rate - kind, helpful, professional. The souvenir shop is great, attended with professionalism, and with many great books about the island, impossible to find enywhere else.
Cons: There could have been more fresh fruit for breakfast.
Cabañas Rapa Nui Orito - Hanga Roa - Building

9.0 Excellent (210 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Cabañas Rapa Nui Orito in Hanga Roa, you'll be near the airport, just steps from Hanga Roa National Park and a 3-minute drive from Ana Kai Tangata. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available on request).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice breakfast delivered promptly to the room on a tray each morning. Fresh bread, tea/coffee, juice, ham and cheese and butter/preserves. A different juice each day added variety. A real treat to have breakfast in your room, and the room had a full-size dining table and chairs by the window - bliss.
Cons: The bed could have been a bit more comfortable and there were only a couple of TV stations that had an adequately good reception (the TV had a set-top aerial).
6.0 Good
Pros: Great place for families
Cons: No hot water. Shower was intermittent of hot and cold water for 5 minutes total.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: You will be picked up from the airport, if you don’t speak Spanish- no problem Ignacia speaks perfect English! She will give a great advice on how to explore Easter Island and the restaurants. Thank you so much for that! You will have a breakfast in the room! Bed is very comfortable, hot water, clean towels and linens. The internet connection is better in the lobby, but hey you are in the middle of the Pacific Ocean!
Cons: Nothing.
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast delivered to the room everyday. Nice garden and amenities. Staff are nice and responsive. Kitchen is also in the room so you get to cook for yourself!
Cons: A bit far from town center and need to take taxi which costs 4k-5k CLP. Only old manual cars available to rent on site. Very weak wifi and it never works for me. Found a cockroach in our room one night
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice huge garden. Quiet place. Big room. Clean. Nice stuff.
Cons: Wi Fi is only in rooms 1,2,3 in others - no. You have to go to lobby.

Cons: None.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice staff and great location. All I had hoped for!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: A great place to stay on the island. Yvonne went out of her way to accomodate me, from an airport pick-up/drop-off to getting me settled in my room and providing all kinds of useful information to get the max. out of my stay. The rooms are all located around a quiet central courtyard, though the hotel is in the middel of mainstreet. At night, I didn't hear anything of the lively entertainment in the neighborhood. The rooms are SO nice : big, spotlessly clean and tatefully decorated in blue-grey and white - I even had a fridge. The breakfast that was included in the price was good (in the adjacent café). Yvonne, muchas gracias para su hospitalidad !
Cons: Really nothing at all !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners provided exceptional service. They picked us up at the airport and welcomed us with flowers, and took us back to the airport for our return flight. When we had a small medical problem, they drove us to a pharmacy. They provided advice about what were the important sights to see and what restaurants would serve a very special meal. An air conditioner was available for those who wished to have one.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Manager is very helpful, friendly and takes action in front of complaints Location is the best in town. Nice and clean kitchen Beautiful garden
Cons: cockroaches, very hot no air conditioning or fan, shower clogged, loud, you could hear the music of next door disco
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner gave us a very informative introduction about Easter Island, what need to be observed and where to go for sightseeing, etc. They are very friendly.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, right in the center of Hanga Roa and the welcome and support by the staff were very nice of them. Having a parking lot was a must and the room size also was good enough.
Cons: The breakfast is done at a nearby coffee-shop, where, although having good food, the service is pretty confused and not perfectly connected to the hotel.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The place is perfect and Alvaro is an absolute gentleman and extremely helpful. I definitely recommend this hotel.
Cons: O - Nada - Nothing. It’s great
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is a wonderful place . I was made to feel very welcome and part of the family . It was good value for money and in an excellent location . If you are looking for somewhere on a budget that is comfortable, clean and friendly , I highly recommend this place .
Hotel Hare Uta - Hanga Roa - Outdoor view
11
8.9 Excellent (159 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Hare Uta in Hanga Roa, you'll be in a national park, just steps from Hanga Roa National Park and a 1-minute drive from Terevaka. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available on request).
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The rest of the hotel is OK with a nice pool. Not worth $400 per night
Cons: Just terrible internet access anywhere but the reception area where you need to sit outside and risk mosquitos and thus dengue fever. This is so unnessesary as extending WiFi directly to the rooms costs less than the $400+ room rate per night. Complaints to management met with complete indifference as they point to a disclaimer they make all guests sign. Very unprofessional.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about Hare Uta was amazing. The room, the staff, the hotel grounds, the view, the food (breakfast & dinner). It was the perfect place to disconnect from everything and relax. It just doesn't get better than this. Sublime
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendliness of the staff, especially reception Loved the chickens running free
Cons: Extremely slow service at bar and restaurant
6.7 Good
Pros: The location is fantastic!!
Cons: The staff at the reception in specific Mrs Consuelo, she was unprofessional and every afternoon she wasn’t at front desk so no one to ask information or have a chance to call a taxi... after waiting 40 minutes she comes up but it was so late.... but the location and the breakfast it was amazing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great small hotel convenient to the airport and only a short distance from town. We booked several tours that picked us up and dropped us off right at the front door. Rooms were clean and bright. The hotel consists of several small buildings each containing a few rooms. Our room was connected to a large common area (shared with three other rooms), which provided extra space for lounging and socializing. The restaurant was great with friendly and accommodating staff and good food. The tropical grounds were spacious with pool and spa. All the buildings and amenities were interconnected by wooden walkways. A unique and delightful experience!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The setting was very much in keeping with the island
Cons: We would have preferred not to have shared the area outside our room when we wanted to sit outside
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It feels authentic and have a lot of local character while still feeling high end. The rooms is a good size, clear, well designed and comfortable. The grounds are pretty and the pool (though cold) is in a nice setting.
Cons: I didn’t realize that the bedrooms share a common space with other rooms. So it sort of felt like having a bedroom in a small house that I’m sharing with others. I didn’t love that aspect of it, but it didn’t bother me either.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is the great place to stay on Easter Island! Everyone is super nice and helpful! They provide transportation for a little extra from the airport to the property.
Cons: nothing to say. everything was just GREAT!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is run by very friendly and nice people and we really felt welcome here. The tropical garden is beautiful and our room was quite big, clean and had a great veranda. Paula, the owner, speaks excellent English. The place is also not too far away from the centre of Hanga Roa, you can easily walk there. Overall, this is quite a cheap place to stay for what you get and regarding the prices for "real hotels" on the island. WiFi was totally ok (only available at reception and in the dining room), it's not good on the whole island, but I have to say it was faster than my Entel SIM card.
Cons: The breakfast is sweet in every sense of the word (coffee is good and the fresh fruits are nice, so are the cakes and muffins), so you will only get very sweet marmalade as a spread for your toast. I would have liked some cheese or a tomato. The quality of the croissants differed depending on who made them - on two days, they should have stayed in the oven at least 5 minutes longer. I know and accept that the B&B has no 24 hour reception, but during our stay, it was sometimes difficult to find anyone, e g. if we had a question or wanted to rent beach towels.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous place - all staff so kind and friendly. The tour with Leo was brilliant. Easter Island is the best place on Earth. When you go stay at Aukara. Highly highly highly recommended.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place with nice staff. Clean and spacious room. Good breakfast. Quite and tranquil and still within walking distance to the main road (Restaurants, Supermarked etc.).
Cons: Nothing bad to say.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts Paula and her husband Leo were exceptional because of their warmth and knowledge of Easter Island. Aukara B&B is a cluster of small buildings in a garden —very lovely.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location. Their restaurant has a stunning view of the ocean. Close to walk to other restaurants. AC works well, bed comfortable and lots of hot water. New flooring throughout hotel and new tiling in our bathroom Nice sitting area outside each room. Very quiet. the staff very friendly and helpful and on the ball. We arranged for a car with insular and they coordinated with them to have us and our luggage picked up and delivered to hotel on their own. There is a nice pool area but we did not use.
Cons: Nothing. Really nice place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was very quaint, clean, and conveniently located to the water and to the center of town. The buffet breakfast could use some improvement, but other than that it was a delight to stay at.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is beautiful, room was extra large, nice view over the ocean, nice pool. Friendly and helpful maids.
Cons: Staff was unfriendly and a waiter in the dining room was even rude, very politically aggressive, I asked to be woken up at 6 and they had their clock wrong (2 hours behind) and did not wake me up. Male receptionist almost rude. Dining room too far away from main building where my room was. No clear directions to the dining room, no info by staff about where it was, too far away (long blocks, lonely and dark to walk to town)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good location, good facilities, a pool, welcome drink-the best pisco sour yet! Beautiful gardens.
Cons: Walls needed a bit more sound insulation.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The convenience of its location was paramount. The food served (breakfasts) was varied and relatively good.
Cons: Bathrooms appear a bit outdated/rundown
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, staff were lovely and so helpful. Everything was really clean. Breakfast was great. Highly recommend.
7.5 Good
Pros: Everything was great starting from staff with best welcoming ever. Location was a breath taking , we really enjoyed staying at this hotel
Cons: Bathroom was needed for re-innovation and our room was in a garden so we had lots of insects coming into our room which made a horror scene :(

7.1 Good
Pros: nice garden with a pool, quiet place, enough space in a simple room
Cons: the location is a bit problematic - it is about 20 minutes walk to the town centre and the coast; very simple breakfast; week internet, but it is probably a problem of the whole island...
6.3 Good
Pros: Outside the city centre in a quiet area very close to the airport. Clean room. Possibility to rent the hotel jeep. Pool present although too cold at this time of year.
Cons: Breakfast very basic. Wi-Fi in lobby only.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: What lovely people running this hotel who made my stay such a pleasure. The room was simple but comfortable in lovely tropical gardens. The hotel rented me a small car at very good value as well as picking me up and dropping me off at the airport which is essentially just along the road. Although not on the main street of Hanga Roa it is only about 20 minutes walk or a few minutes in fair priced taxis.
Cons: I feel bad about adding a dislike but the access to the Internet is not available in rooms only near reception. This was a little less convenient but sitting on the edge of the garden while online is not a major concern.
7.9 Good
Pros: Mary is very kind and helpful, and so is the the rest of the staff, she helped with our different queries. It has a beautiful garden.
Cons: It’s actually not that close to the centre of the town, there aren’t any places near to grab a quick bite

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available 24 hours).
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Basically nothing I like. It was very disappointing experience.
Cons: The reception lady was not fridenly at all and she charged us the twin bed room for $162 which was only $128 on the booking. I tired to argue with her but she totally ignored me. Very disappointing. WiFi was not working at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location - only 700 m from airport, you can easily walk and also 7 minute to walk to the city center or 10 minutes to the sea Rooms - very big rooms, simple but very clean, they all has a terrace near the pool. Outside the room full of vegetation. Toilet room also very big Personal - very friendly, helpfull staff Breakfast - ok, considering that, the entire food it is from the continent and on the island it is a bit expensive, the breakfast was quite ok Don’t buy a trip from home to visit the moai. The hotel can provide you a trip at a very good price (I paid a 7 hour trip from internet from home for 380 USD for 2 person. On the island you can buy it for only 150 USD for 2)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The patio of the hotel, it’s really beautiful.
Cons: The WiFi doesn’t work well.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owners/staff are fantastic. A simple hotel, but the staff know the island and will do anything to make your trip a success.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pool and garden
Cons: WiFi was with very poor quality, but I think because Island was so far away from anything
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A quiet location a little out of the main drag of Hanga Roa. The check in was brilliant and the staff were very accommodating. The breakfast was really good. This hotel was better value for money than our other hotel in the town although all hotels on Rapa Nui are expensive. We would happily return and have our full stay on Rapa Nui here.
Cons: Reliability of wifi could be improved
Hostal Pukao - Hanga Roa - Bedroom

8.7 Excellent (70 reviews)

Located in Hanga Roa, Hostal Pukao is in the historical district, a 4-minute drive from Ahu Tahai and 5 minutes from Ahu Akivi. Featured amenities include limo/town car service, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available 24 hours).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our 4 day stay at Hostal Pukao. The garden is simply magical and invites you to relax and enjoy the nature. The rooms themselves provide everything you'll need and the kitchen is equipped with all that is necessary. Maria and her family are excellent hosts and provided us with all the information, that made our stay at Rapa Nui unforgettable!
Cons: There is nothing to complain about. This place is simply beautiful and worth the 20 min walk to the city's centre!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location (a fair walk from town), welcome juice and lovely doughnut type pastries, met at the airport (free) and dropped back to the airport (5,000 pesos), all the animals (chickens, cats and dogs) but a special mention for the white puppy Mitty who was simply beautiful and loved to play and then fall asleep on us. Very clean, cleaning done everyday and nice hot shower.
Cons: Quite expensive (but that's Easter Island for you), would be good if breakfast was included for the price. WiFi is very bad but then the free WiFi areas on the island aren't really any better. It was.painful to even load a webpage. Our flight was delayed and we were told by the airline what time the flight was delayed until but for some reason they insisted on dropping us to the airport 4 hours before our flight was due to take off. This we didn't understand and it meant we had to wait a long time at the airport which is tiny and very uncomfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: 10/10 is not enough for Hostal Pukao! The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Everything had been thought of with shampoo, towels and space to hang clothes. The kitchen had everything you could need and the utensils were clean. The garden and seating areas were well taken care of and a little paradise within paradise. It was good fun watching the kittens play, the chickens running around and meeting the little puppies! Maria was an excellent host and keen to practise her great English. She was kind, friendly and offers a taxi service for anywhere you need to go. Maritza was very friendly and despite her limited English she did her very best for the guests and hostal. Breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit and eggs from the chickens each morning, and amazing pancakes!
Cons: There was nothing I didn't like about Hostal Pukao and 4 nights was not enough. The property is a 20 minute walk from town which was inconvenient when I was hot and tired but well worth the effort for the space, peace and tranquility of the setting, as well as the opportunity to see more of the real community on the walk. If you hire a car it is no problem - Easter Island was the first time I have driven by myself and the roads are wide and quiet, just watch out for the potholes!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Maria and Maritza were fantastic hosts who went above and beyond to assist. Comfortable beds and working showers.
Cons: Distance from markets and restaurants require either significant time for walking, getting a taxi, or renting a vehicle. Wifi is weak, but internet on the island is overall problematic.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The room is spacious and the garden is nice. The sky is amazing.
Cons: Kitchen improper, dirty Had the feeling to disturb everytime we asked for something to the landlord
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, Room service is excellent, Breakfast is really good.
Cons: It's a 20 - 25 walk from town, Internet is really slow, better to use an Entel Sim Card (Entel is the only mobile network provider working on the Island).
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice quiet peaceful location away from the hustle and bustle of the main street
Cons: Breakfast starts only at 8:30am, and depending on the host, can at times be delayed. Not always consistent (juice on some days and not on others). A little late in pick up from the airport. Arrived only after most passengers had been picked up by other hotels. Called the hostel but staff did not understand english
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Maria was waiting for me at the airport. Put a lei around my neck and drove me to show around the town in advance. Amazing!! Thanks to Maria I made a lot of memories in Easter!!

Located in Hanga Roa, Hotel Otai is near the beach, within a 5-minute walk of Hanga Roa National Park and Mercado Artesanal Municipal. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This location is perfect. Easy access to stores and restaurants. Pretty gardens.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location with beautiful garden, friendly and helpful staff, timely airport shuttle (plus an extra trip to bring us an article we forgot in our room).
Cons: Noises -- roosters crowing, dogs barking, and refrigerator cycling -- during the night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: O'Tai is very centrally located. Literally steps away from the beach and the main street. Lots of restaurants, lots of shops, blocks from a church, cultural center. Staff is A-MA-ZING. Loved it.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: None
8.8 Excellent
Pros: it is close to the village, has verry nice gardens
Cons: inter net in the room
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The best part about this hotel is the garden. It’s a paradise! The location is good, but there is no ocean view. The staff is wonderful.
Cons: The rooms were outdated and spartan. It is a 3-star lodging and for that I think the price was too high.
7.9 Good
Pros: Would I stay here again? More than likely, yes, because by all appearances, it seems to be one of the best places on the island to stay. The complex was BEAUTIFUL. Front desk and kitchen staff were always HELPFUL. Location was UNBEATABLE. Breakfast was PLENTIFUL.
Cons: 1) Wifi advertised but not delivered upon. No connectivity during our stay or while we were checking out (they couldn't process our credit card payment in real time). 2) Water turned off for about three hours the afternoon/evening before we left. The morning of our departure there was no hot water at all and a shower wasn't possible. 3) Roaches - Pests are natural but we still weren't expecting them in the bathroom or our room. The reaction to our stating there were roaches was "Well, it does get very humid here." and not much else. 4) Pool - needed to be cleaned more frequently.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is fantastic. The breakfast is very good and complete. The bedroom is confortable, clean and bright. The towels are clean and white. The shower is really good. The swimming pool is also clean. The garden is beautiful. I saw a lot of people working there, trying to keep the hotel nice and clean for the guests. The bedrooms are not close to the street so they are very quiet. It is nice to sleep and relax. We loved and enjoyed staying there. It is a worthy hotel
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A very nice and pleasant hotel, set in a beautiful garden, near the center of the city and a number of very good restaurants. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. It was a very pleasant stay.
Tupa Hotel - Easter Island - Building

7.0 Good (107 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Tupa Hotel in Hanga Roa, you'll be near the airport, just a 1-minute walk from Hanga Roa National Park and 12 minutes by foot from Pea Beach. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available on request).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good large rooms that lookout to the ocean front.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room is simple but clean. The hotel is not brand new, but it was not a big deal. I did not find any insects (in January, the summer in Easter Island). There are nets in the windows. Keep them closed all day. There was not too much light in my room, the cheapest one, however you are nuts if you want to spend even a single day in a room in Easter Island. I did not drunk the tap water but I washed my teeth with it without any problem. The bed was quite comfy. Hot water with good pressure. It is a little bit fresh at night even in the summer (like 20C) but there was lining fabric to deal with it and also a blanket was available anyway. Due the isolation everything in Easter Island is more expensive than mainland Chile. Do not expect the equivalent service for the same price. Simple breakfast (3 types of bread, ham and cheese, a few cakes and fruits, a flavour of juice, soluble coffee, tee and marmalade) between 8 and 10am. Most organised tours pick you at your hotel around 9am-9:30am, so it is perfect. The only town of the island (Hanga Roa) and the airport are very close to the hotel. It takes a 5min walk to the main street (pharmacy, small markets, restaurants, travel agencies) and the Pacific. The hotel is very quiet at night. They pick me up at the airport with my name in a plaque when I arrived from my comercial flight. At the check out, they offer a transfer free of charge to the airport at two pre-determined times along the day (in the morning is at 9:30am), arranged with the time of the departure of regular commercial flights. There are safety boxes, but they are not inside your room but in a small closet near the reception. Ask for a key in the reception to use a safety box. Those safety boxes are small, enough for documents, credit cards and money but not big enough for your laptop. WIFI in the whole island and in particular in the hotel is very slow and it is not very reliable.
6.7 Good
Pros: Need to refurbish as toilet pretty old
Cons: Cockroach on the floor
5.4 Okay
Pros: Very nice staff, very helpful. Pick Up at and to the airport is included.
Cons: Cockroaches in the bathroom. Expect rooms comparable to a youth hostel. Breakfast was basic. Beware that the standards on Rapa Nui are lower than on the continent. Adjust your expectations accordingly. But cockroaches in the bathroom mustn´t be, really guys! WLAN only in the lobby.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Staff was cheerful, eager to help. Cleaning staff was good in making bed and cleaning bathroom. But bathroom was very old, only one light bulb was working. Hotel was offering free water through water cooler. Location was good.
Cons: The breakfast was very low quality. Very limited items. Everyday the same items. Limited fresh juices. In meat only sliced ham. Certain items I had to ask, like eggs. For three days egg was not available. Sometime staff will ask to leave the dinning hall for no apparent reason. Surrounding land (yard) around the property was not maintained. Wi-fi was not working any place in the property except (only) in front of the front office. Air condition was not working and no fan was available, someday it was hot in nights. Sometime staff will not replace empty water bottle on water cooler, even after numerous reminder.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner, Sergio, was excellent and was very helpful with booking tours. The staff was also very helpful and well trained.
6.3 Good
Pros: Good location
Cons: Breakfast was only ok, coffee really bad.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location . Very nice staff
Cons: It needs a little refurbishment , not much but just to spruce it up a little
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The service at this hotel is absolutely great. Staffs are amazingly helpful. They have help us to book taxi, but the taxi company had miss out our booking. And the staff chased it up and make sure we get on the taxi. The manager is great guy too. The room is super large and clean. Old but clean.
Cons: It is quite old hotel, no internet and tv in the room, fairly speaking, internet is bad all over the island.
