Excellent full English breakfast, plus cold buffet incl. yogurt and fresh fruit.
Problem operating shower, but it was fixed as soon as we mentioned it to staff.
The room was clean and comfortable. The location next to a park and river is brilliant and the easy walk into town is good. There is loads of room to sit in their gardens and read a book so all good there.
The dining room adjoins the function room and although there are full length curtains that could be closed across the two sets of glass double doors they are left open. That means eating your meal staring at the stacked chairs in an unlit room. Closing the curtains would make the dining room cosy. The hum of the fridges could be masked by some music - a cd/mp3 playing quietly perhaps? I stayed 2 nights and the "specials" were the same both days.
Good breakfast, copious and tasty.Room clean and bed comfortable.short and pleasa
Comfortable room, great breakfast and super friendly people running the place
Very friendly staff. The breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal.Tea, coffee and milk replenished daily in our room
No fault of the hotel - building site adjacent to the Tumbling Weir . we were unable to gain access to the hotel when we arrived because a tanker from the building site was blocking the entrance to the hotel car park. I understand the builders will be gone in a couple of weeks and access road will be properly surfaced.
