9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good quality food, with efficient service from the staff. Jackie on reception was lovely and welcoming on checkin and departure. The room was lovely and spacious, with a nice view of the great hall.
Cons: The room was a bit too warm at times and being by the stairs we could hear people when they were walking past. But other than that the room was fantastic and had everything we needed.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Diner and breakfast
Cons: The room (11) is gloomy, has poor lighting and is relatively small.. PLUS workmen were making an awful lot of noise below us (?) in the morning, of which we were not advised beforehand. Having stayed at the hotel many times - this was our/my worst experience...
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff responded very well to our needs. The food was excellent - especially my steak. Our room in the extension was very nice, large and comfortable. The bath was great!
Cons: Some variation in the quality of rooms and areas of the hotel. The hotel is on a hill and so be prepared if you are in a room in the rear extensions.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was delicious and the grounds stunning. The proximity to the town was great
Cons: The only negative was that we went for breakfast on the sunday at 9.15am and the fruit and pastries were not replenished
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Alverton is deliciously stylish , with its wonderful history and truly beautiful ambiance. We loved the great hall, the staff, the food and the relaxed but respectful service. Although by an extremely busy road as you enter the gardens a peace and serenity settles and we felt revitalised and relaxed.
Cons: Cant think of anything. We had a gorgeous time and have fallen in love
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant and Helpful staff . Peaceful comfy beds . Food and service first class
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: Room was back of beyond down a small corridor overlooking the rear of the hotel and tins of oil for the kitchen. Staff stood outside talking late at night. Room has stained curtains that didn’t hang properly. Carpet on the stairs was threadbare.

It forms part of the beautiful Roseland Peninsula and has a picturesque setting
7.0 Good
Pros: Great breakfast
Cons: If someone arrives with a partner, why does the hotel manager think it's a good idea to write a welcome letter addressed to mr and mrs. This is presumptuous, dated and sexist. Why mrs and not ms? And why assume the same surname? Shocked by this.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff very helpful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, food and staff. Always welcomed back like old friends. Just feel totally relaxed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Recently renovated 3 double bedroom cottage overlooking the sea. Spotless with fantastic furnishings. 3 en-suite bathrooms with amazing toiletries. Beautiful kitchen and fully equipped.

Pros: The Lugger is a quiet unpretentious escape from the madness of modern life! Welcoming, friendly staff, clean and very comfortable, it is a great place to relax and unwind.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble.
Cons: Quantity of food at dinner time was minimalist which encourages customers to go for at least two courses. Food pricing expensive......but few other eatery options in Portloe.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Magical location. Super touches like hot chocolate & marshmallows placed in room in the evening- my wife loved the hot water bottle too ! Super evening menu changing each day with very good breakfast choices. Comfortable and indulgent stay.
Cons: Parking is tight and prices high- its a captive market really.....however whilst drinks & wine are great quality it means an expensive break or holiday is likely.

Pros: The hotel is very central close to the cathedral as well as the bus station. They have their own restaurant but I only had breakfast there, which was good. The building is ancient and nice. The room was small but comfortable with good wifi.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Despite the dreadful weather we really enjoyed our stay at The county Arms. The location was perfect, the food good and reasonably priced and the staff charming. Our family room was ideal.
Cons: There were quite a few families or grandparents with young children. An indoor area where the children could let of steam would have been an asset. Also didn’t locate a lounge area for residents.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely. It was excellent in terms of cleanliness and really comfortable. I liked the view. I especially liked the tea and cakes offered by the hotel in the afternoon. I think the best thing about it was how welcome the staff made visitors feel - it gave the hotel a friendly atmosphere.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff so helpful under terrible circumstances
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Stff exceptional Breakfast superb Value for money
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfy bed
Cons: I couldn't open the window very much which was annoying as the room was quite stuffy and small. Also I don't like the overuse of towels in the hotel business. However as there was nowhere to dry the towel I ended up using two per day. If you get a chance on the next makeover, install a heated towel rail on the ensuite of bedroom 1. And for the price of the stay, you could maybe upgrade the quality of breakfast sausages. They let down what was otherwise a very tasty brekkie
7.0 Good
Pros: Clean good breakfast
Cons: Not that it’s your fault but other guests not considering other by slamming doors

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent, the dinner was outstanding. The room was very comfortable, I particularly liked the entrance to our room. The staff were all delightful and friendly, the view was wonderful, what more can I say!
Cons: Nothing at all...a shame the last day was rainy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the best hotels in the uk, without a doubt. Accommodation, food, location and service absolutely outstanding!
4.6 Okay
Cons: While the property has all of the makings to be a lovely holiday stay, it falls absolutely short in customer service. The front desk staff were very unfriendly and rude, you did not feel welcomed at all. It was almost as if we were inconveniencing them by being there. We were at the hotel on a very quiet weekend, so it’s not as if the hotel was busy. Besides the staff- the lounge sitting area and bar in the hotel are extremely quiet, to the point to where you could hear a pin drop and it’s a quite awkward set up. Even some light classical music or anything at all would help. Also for the money, I would have expected a bit more up to date rooms, for example most rooms don’t have a stand up shower and our sitting chair had a large brown stain on it. Again, it is in a lovely location and stunning on the outside, we were rather disappointed it didn’t live up to expectations.
7.0 Good
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff- View from Hotel - Bedroom and Bathroom.
Cons: Steep climb to hotel, steps dark at night, and slippery when wet. Bar area no atmosphere, and you had to use the same steps. Dinning experience lacking/food ok but expensive/Breakfast £50!each (reduced to £25 when we stayed)/ Cheaper to catch and pay for ferry to Falmouth and eat at Rick Steins. Lounge inviting and cosy with log fire/very quiet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful, relaxing and peaceful stay at the Hotel Tresanton. The location - facing the sea and stunning Roseland coastline was sublime. The rooms were very well appointed and tastefully decorated - and were spotlessly maintained every day. The staff were extremely polite, helpful and welcoming. Opening my French windows every morning to sit out in the sun and enjoy the fresh and soothing sea breeze was everything that was needed for a relaxing, yet indulgent holiday. I had not car, but had little trouble in getting around via the numerous Ferries from St Mawes and the excellent local bus service. I was staying in one of the cottage rooms apart from the hotel, which was wonderful for the secluded, restful break that I wanted. The breakfast was tasty and filling - fresh orange juice, croissants, toast and marmalade, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs! So much choice, but cooked to perfection and serviced with courtesy and care.
Cons: That I had to go home!
7.5 Good
Pros: The location is great and it's easy to get t Yarmouth by ferry and the walking locally is lovely, food is also very good. Staff couldn't be more friendly or helpful
Cons: We have been before and I thought the hotel looked a little tired, the bathrooms a little worn and just a little frayed around the edges.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was amazing! Awesome views from our room, very comfortable room and bathroom. We didn’t dine here. Staff were very helpful and very friendly. The pool was lovely, fresh towels, some really nice chocolate brownies in our room on arrival, great information in the room, lovely gardens very nice hotel.
Cons: The hotel can be quite noisy, you can hear people in the rooms next door, and when we stayed there were quite a few families with young children and dogs, so this could not be to some people’s liking, especially if you’re looking for a quieter holiday or break.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location and the staff could not have been more helpful at the most difficult of times.
Cons: Nothing

Cons: Bathroom mirrors too low to actually be of any use. We were too late to get aft tea at 5.30 which was a shame.!
7.9 Good
Pros: Tremendous views from the deluxe bedroom. Good bar and restaurant - very good food if a little expensive.
Cons: Not sure we wanted a bath in the bedroom - better use could be made of the space, for example seating facing the window.

Pros: Great welcome from young and very helpful team. Spotless room, wonderfully comfortable bed and pillows, superb bathroom with huge bath towels, excellent bath and separate shower. Dining room looks out over the water. The food and service is first class - the fish soup deserves to have a special award. Breakfast on the full Cornish or cereal and continental croissants. This hotel is a gem - you will enjoy it here.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Cooked breakfast was really excellent high quality products, well cooked. All the food was great. The bedroom was comfortable with an enormous and comfortable bed, beautiful sea view and a fabulous bathroom with a lovely bath and impressive shower, everywhere was clean and tidy. Some of the staff are owed particular praise Guillermo( William) and Harry who were extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming, huge thanks to them and also to Bianca. Whilst the St Mawes and The Idle rocks are different propositions, most of what both hotels do is exceptional!
Cons: More information on arrival would be helpful and perhaps prior, re access after hours to the hotel and meal service times. There is a proper reception up a side street but the obvious entrance is into the bar where there are very narrow doors for getting in with suitcases, not great for arriving guests and dining/drinking customers alike. We came back late one evening and could not get in and had not been advised what to do, this meant we had to walk back down the to the sister hotel and then back up in pouring rain to gain access. Although everyone was very helpful after that! Due to the time of year there are limited dining options, we arrived back having not found anywhere serving at 21.10 on 25th Feb and were told that the kitchen was closed and consequently went without dinner. (although other diners seemed to be starting their meals). The 1st dining area is under the bedrooms , we were disturbed by cleaning activity at around 07.10 in the morning on 2 occasions but once alerted was resolved.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: breakfast had a good selection, but had to ask for tea and coffee even after cook food had arrived. But on thesecond day all was well as there was a staff change and they were helpful and cheerful
Cons: having ordered our evening meal it took nearly an hour to arrive ( had to go down tothebar area and re order as it appeared our order had been overlooked. We had boooked the table (family of 5)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a real gem! The hotel itself is beautifully appointed in both the public/front of house areas and the guest rooms.... real care has obviously been taken to get the decor and atmosphere just right and the place is kept spotless! The food is out of this world.... it's not the biggest menus, but the selection there is heavenly (I thoroughly recommend the monkfish if it's on!). The staff were absolutely fantastic.... I really can't praise them enough, they're polite, attentive but not in your face. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.....
Cons: Honestly...... nothing spoilt our stay! If I had to come up with something I'd mention that the soundproofing between rooms 1 and 2 (where we were) doesn't quite muffle the sound of someone who watched loud television late at night.... but it was a minor inconvenience that didn't spoil our stay.

Pros: Staff were great, couldn’t do enough for you and the facilities were great. We loved the cinema!
Cons: The breakfast was good but a little limited in choice. Compared to everything else the bread choice could have been a lot more interesting!
