Car was very comfortable, clean , more than enough power, pick up was sooo easy, drop off a little disappointing as there were no persons on the counter and we really wanted to know about the deposit return. In the end we had to drop the key and run for our boarding, but was sorted very easy next day by phone call.

I did not get the car they did not have an automatic and I tried to cancel additional insurance coverage but never could do this on my phone so I wasted $90 plus car rental fee.

They didn’t have a car reserved for me on arrival, and tried to charge a walk up rate. In the end, I lost the prepaid portion of my rental, sat in the coffee shop opposite and booked online with Avis (for cheaper than what they wanted to charge me). Really disappointed.

They had way too many hidden charges that more than doubled the cost of rental. First, my car wasn't available, so I had to pay extra to upgrade. The gas tank was at 7/8 when I picked up the car, and when I returned at the same level, they charged 60 euro to refill 1/8 of tank. There's also a 36 euro charge on my credit card that I never got a receipt for. I will not rent from them again

We had an overall great experience renting from Drive on Holidays. Our car was awesome (clean, barely used, etc.) and the nice woman who helped us was sweet. I had read reviews prior to renting from this company and was a tad concerned, but we had no issues that would keep us from renting from them again. The only downfall in our experience was that we waited at least two hours in line at pick up and that pushed our first day back a bit. It is true that they have you put down a $3,600 (maybe it was euros?) deposit, which I thought was pretty intense and had never experienced before but eh, we had no issues.

Good vehicle that kept us safe and sturdy as we drove throughout Sao Miguel. We read reviews beforehand and highly encourage you to go to the Blue Elephant Car Wash in Ponta Delgada so you don’t get any charges for a dirty car. The only downside was that we had to get a shuttle to and from the airport. This was provided by Drive On Holidays but added time to the beginning and end of our trip.

The pickup directions were terrible. Info came from car rental app, so it’s hard to tell if it was Drive on Holidays fault or the rental car app that was the issue. They sent a pickup address that was at some residential Apartment complex. Tried calling but no one picked up. After some digging on the internet I found the closest pickup center near the airport in hopes it was the correct location. I was lucky that it was, because if you’re late they typically give your reserved car to the next person. I spent a bunch of money on two xl Ubers trying to find the pickup location… very ironic Once I finally got there, the service was fine and the process was smoother.

The staff at our Lisbon drop-off location, Jorge Albuquerque, was fantastic! He was so nice to us and made the drop off experience very quick and easy.

The staff was quick, clear, friendly, patient and overall highly efficient.

Cons:

The car I requested was unavailable and the car we did receive was not nearly as comfortable or as efficient when it came to fuel economy. I bought an insurance policy through Allianz and it didn't show up in the system which made our pick up a bit more difficult. No fault of the Sixt representativ

Missing my connection a very knowledgeable, understanding man let me change my pick up location quickly and efficiently.

Cons:

Return in Faro horrible with very rude young man who didn't check car with me.told me to go to airport! As I had total coverage and no incidents in2 days I went. 10 days LATER I was emailed BY CLAUDIA that I would be charged for missing phone holder I NEVER HAD and scratch I NEVER HAD!OTHERWISE 5 st

We passed a Hertz lot off the freeway, spent a good 15mins trying to get to it only to find out that it wasn't the proper drop-off location. The paper work didn't have an exact address for drop off.

The sales associate that finally helped us was lovely and even upgraded us to a good model at a reasonable price

The line to pick up was a joke... After getting off the plane the last thing you want to do is stand idly in a queue, and to make matters worse all the other car rental places were queue-free

Drivalia offers cars with letter "e" in description. You don't know-it is full electric. To me it is economy. In Italy the infrastructure for electric cars is poor. Also,Drivalia uses Chinese MG small suv hybrid. This is really weird hybrid you don't want to drive. Eats lot of gas and you have to change this hybrid like full electric car. Milano int. Airport does not have good signs to get to rent garage to drop your car.

Picked up the car and it was filthy. Clearly hadn’t been cleaned since being used before. Key intermittently stopped working and were locked out of the car, when trying to open it manually, car alarm would repeatedly go off. Car was not maintained well.

We liked the good value for money, and the car itself was just what we wanted and had no issues. It was not completely clean though when we received it, nor did it come full of fuel- under half a tank. The pick up and collection from the car park was fine and very quick. It was the wait time at the drivalia desk to sign the contract and pay the deposit which took too long. We joined the queue at 10:30am and we’re not at the front until 12:00pm. We were not in a rush but other customers were as they had plans or connections to make.

Pros:

The return of the car was very smooth and the female employee who took care of us was very kind and expedient. The pick up was quick once we had keys and the car was in good condition.

Cons:

The women at the counter were not helpful and the service was poor. They did not know the terms and conditions of the company (i.e. what coverage is included in a specific fare) and they didn’t have them handy so we could read them ourselves. After asking several times for them, they realized they were framed in small print on the wall right next to them. The car report was missing several damages so we had to take photos upon picking it up. There also seems to be a glitch on the website as I could not access the terms and conditions for the Avis office in Faro in English, even if that was an option on your menu. This would all have been ok had the Avis staff been more professional and experienced.

Friendly, professional and efficient pick up. New car that worked well and was clean.

Cons:

The drop off was a bit of a mess. I was sent to one office, then another where there was a queue but initially told I should go back to the first office before being told to join the second office with the long queue ... hope you’re still following. After that I’d to wait a further ten minutes before they realised that most of us in the queue were dropping off so they gave us priority as we had flights to catch. Other than that everything went well.

Staff were quick and friendly. Although the wait in line was a little long. Car itself was in very good condition. Hyundai i30. Only issue I had with it was the parcel shelf in the back had been broken by a previous user and it made noises whilst driving so I had to remove it
