Poor parking arrangements. Basic hotel decoration. 80s decor and in need of refurbishment. OK for a nightstop but not a hotel I would spend a holiday in.

This hotel was very good value for money, was very comfortable and was in a very convenient position near the Lido in Funchal. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the standard of service was good. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a wide range of choice. The pool and outside areas were well designed and provided a pleasant place to sit and relax. A free bus transfer to the city centre and return was available for guests. We would certainly choose this hotel again. The only downside was the steep hill leading up to the hotel which could be a problem for some elderly or unfit guests.

The good prices. The open and closed pool. In the evenings entertaining programs. Near to hotel the new building is under construction. In the afternoon because of it it is noisy enough.

This is a good quality 3 star hotel with very good facilities, although it will require some refurbishment over the next 2-3 years. It's location at the top of a steep incline will not suit guests with severe walking difficulties. Breakfast was good and varied. The coutesy bus into the centre of Funchal is very useful if you can't face a 30 minute stroll. I didn't use the resturant with its limited menu, as there are masses of alternatives within a 10 minute stroll. (Particularly recommend L'Osteria at the bottom of the road leading to the hotel). Drinks in the terrace bar and main bar are extremely expensive- sometimes double what you can pay elsewhere.
