Cons: Swimming facilities were neglected, it did not appear very clean and most of all the whole area was very cold, no heating in the room, it felt like being almost outside, especially in August, it discouraged us from swimming despite the fact that it was the main reason of choosing the hotel.

Pros: Absolutely gorgeous old-fashioned decor, it is steeped in history. Also the bed is so comfortable ! Supportive but with a beautifully soft mattress topper. A range of pillows to choose from and extra blankets for winter. Staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful.

Cons: Parking is not in the building and is an extra charge. Can't be helped as there is no underground carpark in heritage building. Not too far to walk though.

Even then, the view was blocked because building features where right in front of window. Also TV's were old tube style - in this day and age we expected to have at least a 42" flat screen....

Cons: I felt the word "superior room" was very over rated, I felt like it was no more than a standard room. The mat in the shower/bath was discusting I would expect to see that standard in a hotel in the back of Australia. The cups were not washed and someone had used the sample bottle of moisturizer and put it back. The tables in the foyer had definetly not been wiped down for quite a long time as there were glass marks and dirt all over it which was very obvious when the light was on it.

Cons: We found the studio apartment room to be drab, underwhelming and uninspiring. Definitely not worth the cost. Rooms and fixtures are dated. It was not a pleasant room to spend time in. Bed was fairly hard, linens were nothing special. Shower was broom closet size and difficult to turn around in.

Pros: I like the layout. I have stayed at Ridges(Northside Manor) on a number of occasions but not in the last few years since retiring. Obviously wear and tear is beginning to show however the hotel is well situated and excellent value for money. I would stay in the future and chose to stay because of previous visits.

Cons: The staff were quite insistent that our fridge had been filled with drinks and snacks prior to us arriving. When we checked out we told staff that they were definitely not there. It was not easy convincing them of this. When we booked, 'bookings.com' said we would get a room with a king size bed + a second queen. We were 'free upgraded' to a room with 1 double size bed. Baffling?

Cons: Tried to park the morning before, rang up to confirm and was told it would be fine, but at that time of the morning the only parking available were metered spaces. Not a problem for me but might be for an elderley couple.

Pros: Loved Angie. She was so helpful. We were originally placed in a room near the elevator (which was under construction). She helped us move (and because we were in a hurry and needed to leave the property quickly, she even moved our belongings and luggage for us). we came back to a new room with all our things nicely laid out and very nice gift with a note to apologize for the original inconvenience. Very kind and professional.

Pros: The Leisure Inn Hobart on Macquarie was well kept, clean, modern and central. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. The facilities in the room were in perfect working order and of a high standard. Unexpectedly, there was even a fridge and a microwave in our room.

Pros: The Leisure Inn Hobart on Macquarie was well kept, clean, modern and central. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. The facilities in the room were in perfect working order and of a high standard. Unexpectedly, there was even a fridge and a microwave in our room.
Cons: It is just a small thing, but we were charged $2 to leave our luggage at the hotel for a few hours after we checked out in the morning.

A school formal that blocked up the hotel foyer and valet parking area right on dinner time when guests were trying to move in and out of the hotel!!! There was also a tour bus parked in this area! Crazy!!!

Pros: The location is convenient- a short walk to the city and an easy walk to Salamanca.
Cons: The toilets and showers are mixed male and female and they are fairly sketchy at best.
There is no kitchen or TV room or general meeting area exclusively for people staying in the hostel.
The dorms are mainly mixed - there is a fenale dorm but no male only dorm.
The hot water is difficult to regulate in showers - I was cold in summer, I can only imagine gow cold it is in winter.
