Thurlestone Hotel

Thurlestone Hotel is a 125-year-old, family-run hotel with a full spa and sauna as well as luxury rooms and suites with sea views, surrounded by its own gardens and land. It’s an elegant, historic place on the edge of a golf course.

Thurlestone Hotel has a classic English pub on the premises where it sells ales and a wide selection of other drinks. Called The Village Inn, it’s stuffed with character and personality and serves up its own gastropub menu, with local food being a speciality. The wooden beams in the pub are from a wrecked Spanish Armada ship that sank off the Devon coast. It has its own outside terrace for sunny days and a wonderful open fire for colder nights.

Thurlestone has its own air-conditioned gym and fitness centre, focusing on free weights and cardiovascular fitness machines with expert staff on hand. This is free for guests to use. Guests can also enjoy the indoor pool, which uses a UV light filtration system to cut down on the amount of chlorine needed in the water. The neighbouring golf course is also free to hotel guests and tee times can be booked in advance when booking your room.

Thurlestone is a very family-friendly hotel. As well as family rooms and suites, you can make use of the kids’ club and games rooms. During school holidays they run Big T’s Surf Club, which offers organised activities like arts and crafts, magic shows, movies and more. The restaurant also caters for children with a dedicated kids’ menu and can offer half-sized adult portions if this is preferred.

Thurlestone is a very popular wedding and celebration venue, and they often hire the hotel entirely or in part for weddings or family celebrations. They cater the menu to your specifications and offer tailored events management throughout the year. They’re licensed for civil ceremonies and have 65 four-star rooms.

In the hotel’s main car park, you will find four car charging points for electric cars. All guests will receive free parking, but a limited amount of covered parking is available for an extra charge. Guests in suites will get free covered parking.

Dressing for dinner is part of the tradition of Thurlestone, and so, jackets are preferred for men in the dining rooms. As well as The Village Inn pub, Thurlestone Hotel also offers the fine-dining Trevilder Restaurant and Rock Pool, which is an outdoor dining experience around the outdoor pool.

There are special golf breaks, and it runs a gin school staycation as well as regular spa breaks with special deals for guests.
