I liked where it was located.
Packing area was packed which is understandable so I had to go to the underground car park which is understandable but what I don’t understand is why an employee couldn’t give me the correct code to get into the underground car park. Also 20 minutes after I had checked out of the hotel I had realised I had left some clothes behind which was my mistake but to come back to the hotel to get no help, to find my clothes had been stolen was crazy. When booking I also asked if I would get a nice view as that is what I want and that’s what I’m willing to pay, just for me to pay and look at a tennis court all day. It’s not bad, I just personally wouldn’t go back, plenty other hotels I can receive a better service from
Worst hotel experience :(
There were a number of issues prior to even arriving at the hotel - I contacted I contacted the hotel to ensure they could verify my reservation so I didn't experience any issues on arrival. I was passed from pillar to post to try and confirm this, and they were adamant that there was no reservation with my details. Another member of the team said she couldn't discuss anything with me because she didn't believe it was my booking. On arrival at the hotel, I had no internet connection. I was extremely surprised but also annoyed because prior to making the reservation, I specifically checked on the Hilton Hotels & Resorts website where it stated that Wi-Fi was complimentary in all guest rooms. Not only this, but when I went to take a shower, the bath was extremely filthy & greasy and there was no soap available to even wash my hands. For a renowned hotel chain that has an excellent reputation, I was not expecting this appalling service. Although I did contact Mr Chris Nassetta (CEO) and his team handled the matter pretty well - so that was a positive.
Saturday night with girl friends
The staff were very friendly , professional , and efficient . We had a quick check in could not complain about anything at all.
I liked the whole experience the bedroom was excellent , the breakfast was one of the best we have had in a hotel. Really would recommend this lovely hotel to any body
The C10 bus stops right in front of the hotel, it's also easy to access the underground using the same bus. A free ride can be acquired to the hotel from Canary Wharf station too, if you show them your hotel booking upon arrival or produce your room key (note that the boats operate at certain intervals so confirm timings by calling the hotel before hand or obtain their schedule). Natasha Trier, the duty manager tried to contain a very ugly and volatile situation but in the end management failed me completely which I'm going to explain in the negative review section.
Amie Gotts a senior manager is a disaster (never again will I trust a short lady with specs and a bob cut who wears funny shoes). Apparently, I arrived at 2.30 pm but was refused check-in and asked to return at 3 pm. Meanwhile they collected a huge amount of money from me for the stay, and assured me my spectacular room would be ready when I get back. What followed was a lot of lies and mistreatment, and even then it took until 5.30 pm to get me a miserable suite with no views. Initially I paid a big sum of money for a huge suite with spectacular views over looking the river which never happened. Upon my complaint, I was lied to that the previous night a drunk guest coloured the walls and so they were refurbishing it, and then another receptionist finally brought to my attention that my suite had been given to another guest. I wanted to leave and asked for the payment I made, but this wasn't under consideration. If the matter escalated they would just call security so I decided to deal with it tactfully, and was promised by Amie that upon check-out I'd be refunded a 50 percent deposit for the first night and on day 2 they would check me into the right suite with additional compensation of free breakfast and two dinners (meaning the money I already paid for breakfast was also going to be refunded upon checkout). Non of these happened, and I only got an Entree for that particular night free while the rest I had to pay at which point I realised I'd been tricked. Anyway there was nothing I could do, because my money wasn't going to be returned and all the lies they concocted together would act against me anyway (I remained cool and composed, holding my rage because there was nothing I could do). The suite I was initially checked into was ugly, and I couldn't sleep properly that night because bed-bugs kept biting me. I felt all itchy and had to get up for work next day but had a very miserable evening (there is much more but no space to type now).
The property is perfectly placed on the dock side. Overlooking Canary Wharf. It’s peaceful and a perfect spot to eat in using there onsite restaurant (didn’t use this though) although we did sample the bar. The cleanliness is top notch as you’d expect with the Hilton Brand and the staff are all attentive.
Felt a little pushed towards trying to buy upgrades or food/drink. These prices are very high considering other areas. But the hotel is slightly isolated out of hours so you do struggle.
