10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location with beautiful scenery .Karen the hostess was more than helpful .Everything spotless and good value for money .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Totally faultless; we wanted a break from work and living in Belfast and had never seen Derry or Donegal before. Location is superb; deceptively close to main road links to Donegal and Derry for getting to/from the cottage. The isolated yet close location honestly is just great; we were able to relax in the evenings on the patio area, having a drink and even had the company of two great donkeys! the cottage was like a home from home, and I say isolated positively as it is not in the wilderness but offers the serenity of being in the wilderness! Accommodation was nice a cozy; very clean and modern also the seating and sleeping arrangements were very comfortable. Cottage was also very easy to get hot or chilled. Views are very nice, especially in the evenings. I could not recommend this place enough - I am sure many people say this but we will genuinely be back! if you're looking for a better alternative to an air bnb, to travel to an exceptionally beautiful spot in the world, at an extremely good price and have a real nice sense of home, honestly you won't be disappointed! Also can not fault the owner at all; Karen is a lovely person and so accommodating; she ensured to show us how everything worked, provided us with good information about the area, events and places to see! although we didn't require anything whilst we were there, there was the kind offer too of asking if we needed taxis she would happily book them (to make sure we got there and back!)

5.8 Okay
Cons: The hotel puts only the room with the „accessible“ bathroom on booking.com, which is NOT a room, I would have chosen. The sink is the size of a stamp and the overall impression of the bathroom: extremely off-putting.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this little hotel is perfect. We stayed in a much more expensive place in Belfast the night before and it couldn't hold a candle to the Bishops Gate. I don't know where they get the staff but I've never met such nice people
Cons: The only negative I could possible find is that the view from our window was onto the back of the property but we were out in Derry the whole time so wasn't an issue

Overview Reviews

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rose Park House is a personally and professionally run B & B. We were welcomed by Thomas from the first moment we arrived and enjoyed every minute of our stay at Derry. He and the other members of the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was great- as much or as little as we desired, and the time was flexible. The location was perfect for us- we walked through the scenic park down the hill to the city centre and either walked back or took a taxi for a very reasonable fare in the evening. I would certainly stay at Rose Park when visiting Derry in the future.
Cons: Nothing- really!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was lovely and the owners were a great source of information of Derry city
Cons: Didn't realise how hilly Derry city was, so took some getting use to walking up and down to the B&B
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good location - 15 minute walk to city center. Out of the way, which we like. Secure parking and a nice surprise was laundry for 4 pounds/load! Great shower. Lots of outlets in the room! Food was excellent. Amazing hosts!
Cons: Light and fan in bathroom wasn’t working - could have been user error but plenty of light in the bathroom and a small light on the mirror so this was not an issue at all. Great room overall.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners of this bed and breakfast were wonderful! Our family of 5 got delayed on the road and we came in very late. They stayed up to greet us and get us settled in and helped in parking the car. The breakfast was superb and they had gluten-free choices as mentioned. The rooms were perfect, operate bathrooms and hairdryers and toiletries. The coffee - French press - was outstanding and plentiful! We are very thankful for our quick but very pleasant stay!
Cons: It would have been nice to stay longer!

Cons: Nothing of any real note
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful.
Cons: While the room I had was lovely the bathroom could do with an upgrade.a Also the toaster provided in the restaurant was not user friendly. I think it was actually a bit of a fire hazard.

Pros: Delightful location, very pleasant and welcoming staff, this is a splendid place.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The atmosphere and friendliness. The choice of beers on draft was excellent. Excellent cocktails.
Cons: A lift would be a fine addition.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a beautiful hotel set in some stunning gardens. We were blessed with sunshine during our stay which allowed us to sit outside and have a drink in the new gastro bar on the premises. Can totally recommend the rhubarb gin which was made using rhubarb grown in the hotels own vegetable garden. The food in the gastro bar was superb. I had the General Tso chicken and my son had the ribs. Yum yum yum. My daughter ordered from the kids menu and is a big mash potato fan. Her comment was this might possibly be the best ever! We shared the cookie doh ice cream for dessert which was recommended and didn’t disappoint! I also had a Bellini cocktail which was divine. We had a large room which had a large super king size bed and a single bed which was super comfortable. The bathroom was new and modern and I loved the toiletries provided. Love the lemongrass aroma. Breakfast was served in the upstairs dining room and there was plenty of choice. I had the Ulster Eggs Benedict. Perfect size potion and delicious.
Cons: Loved everything! Only thing I could recommend is that they put a card beside the cheese board at breakfast telling you what type of cheese it was and where from i.e was it local etc. Also maybe an option on breakfast menu that was more kid friendly like pancakes.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfortable. Couldn't hear noise from other rooms. Staff were helpful. Hotel was clean and well decorated and set in a good location. Would stay again.
Cons: The room was warm (mid July) although a fan was provided. Air con might have been better.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is quite nice and is located close to the city center although the 30 minutes walks might be too long for some people. If you have a car the hotel provides a car park and you can use the train station to get closer to the city. The bedrooms are quite big and nice and the overall hotel status is really good. There is a nice bar lounge in the hotel with piano performances in the evening.
Cons: The breakfast is quite good but we were surprised that they were not replacing the food that was getting finished in a reasonable time. After almost 45 minutes I need to ask to the staff some pastries as they was no one available when we went to the restaurant.
6.8 Good
Pros: Very quiet area
Cons: No Gym or swimming pool Not impressed with breakfast. Very Limited Bar food was quite expensive
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything else
Cons: A bit fare away from the city center but it only took us 25 minutes to walk The pillows was a bit hard
7.0 Good
Cons: Noise from wedding booked for Thursday night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: As I got married there a few years earlier the hotel sent a lovely chocolate cake to my room too say welcome back after 3 years, it was a really lovely gesture and my wife was over the moon. Honestly I wouldnt stay anywhere else in Derry
7.5 Good
Pros: Evening meal in restaurant was excellent. Wait staff were friendly but service was exceedingly slow. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was good.
Cons: Traffic noise was loud even with windows closed. It was extremely loud with windows open. I kept the windows closed which made it very hot as it is late July and there is no air conditioning in rooms. There was a fan, which helped, but the fan rattled loudly. The trash bin in the bathroom wouldn’t open with the foot pedal so I had to pry it open- YUK! The hotel should give their guests courtesy ear plugs.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean, had a restaurant onsite, staff were great.
Cons: Couldn’t open window and the room didn’t have air conditioning. They did provide a small fan but the room was very stuffy and we aren’t used to sleeping in such hot conditions.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was exceptionally comfortable. I ate in the bar and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely bed and pillows
Cons: slightly noisy by busy road

6.3 Good
Pros: Clean
Cons: Dated. Far from city.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent and the location just outside Derry gave a real rural feel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a lovely place to stay. The restaurant had a good choice on menu and we had a fabulous meal all round, two of our group were vegetarian so they were really pleased with the choice. Breakfast and dinner was superb.
Cons: The creaking floor/pipes near the bathroom door were quite noisy, but didn't spoil our stay.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was really nice and clean. It was very comfortable and the price was great for the quality of the room. The breakfast that was offered was also really nice and very generous. Overall I was very please with the service and my overall stay at the Belfray. I also REALLY APPRECIATED that there is someone at the desk 24hrs/day. I got lost and wasn't able to check-in before 12am. Most lodgings have a check-in time frame, but the Belfray allows check-ins at all times of night. :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast ideal location only 10_15minutesto central Londonderry Close enough to even take a taxi for night life
Cons: Possibly some entertainment at weekends may be a bonus
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent, friendly & very accommodating staff, in a pleasant country inn, with good facilities too.
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff were fantastic, super friendly and helpful! Dinner was very well cooked and presented and reasonably priced. Beds were comfortable too!
Cons: Both beds has a single duvet inside a double duvet cover which was obv. a poor fit. Also, one of the sheets on the bed had black marks on it which looked like they hadn't washed out. The room had no aircon but we were unable to keep the window open during the evening and night due to the huge amount of bugs that came in - bug screen would have been great!! Larger TV screen would have been better too. We came down for breakfast just after 9.30am and it seemed nobody had checked the buffet- a couple of dry pastries, the fresh food bowl was empty and there were a couple of pieces of grspefruit/pineapple floating in its juices. Needless to say we both ordered a cooked breakfast which was delicious!
5.5 Okay
Pros: Bedrooms were clean
Cons: Water turned off from 8pm to 8am without notification before our stay very disappointing as was the response from reception.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very handy location.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: We looked after our own breakfast due to our early start, everything was good except the fact that the room had no en-suite facilities. For ladies going down a corridor during the night is not ideal. Price was top class for the location and we enjoyed our stay in Derry.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had trouble getting the key out of the safe but owner came around very quickly.jusr as my partner had managed to open it. She spent fifteen minutes explaining little things to us about the property. She made recommendations for places to eat and wrote them on a map which she provided. A walk to the walled city and around the top and we were able to dine well. Safe walk home. Parking in the street not a problem. Breakfast was wonderful. Their own touch.

Pros: Lovely clean room albeit a bit small, nice big bathroom with shower and bath. Comfy bed & tea making facilities. Easy to gain access via codes.

Cons: We really miss small fridge in the room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room size was good and able to fit 2 suitcases. Presented as per description. Safe and secure once inside. Good offstreet parking except some guests unable to park without taking up 2 spaces.
Cons: Location was a bit remote, nothing within walking distance. Shower head holder was broken. Security light on garage shining in our room was uncomfortable. Had to close curtains and blinds which helped a bit but made room hot and stuffy without fresh air access. No personal interaction made with staff which would have been nice. Thin walls. Could hear everything guests in next door we’re doing. Probably would find somewhere else closer to town next time.

Cons: The room was a little tired but perfectly adequate. The fan in the bathroom and the light over the sink didn't work.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, comfy beds, great barstaff. Fab view from health suite on 4th floor.
Cons: Reception staff quite dismissive considering we had to wait over an hour for our room to be ready due to housekeeping being understaffed. Their attitude was haughty with other guests waiting too, and they had us go to them continuously for updates on room status rather than take the few steps to where we were in the foyer to keep us informed. All other staff were lovely and friendly. No tea or drinks offered while we waited either.

Cons: Breakfast was quite a shambles. Huge queues and a table in the middle of the restaurant (a very large tbale that everyone could see) covered in all of the dirty plates/cups etc. this should have been removed to the kitchen and not left on site.

Cons: A little noisy
6.8 Good
Pros: The breakfast was lovely, the staff during this time were excellent. The bar is lovely with nice staff. Caterina’s restaurant was fabulous, food excellent.
Cons: I have a gorgeous king sized extremely comfortable bed in Dublin, I travelled to Derry to spend time with family and found the beds old at the hotel, I asked for extra duvets to make it more comfy. No air conditioning
5.5 Okay
Pros: It was very convenient for us as we were attending a private function at the hotel. The member of reception staff was very welcoming and efficient
Cons: The quality was the room and furnishings were very average , and certainly not up to four star rating. While there was two (double) beds in our double room, I would expect a king size bed for a 4 * rating for comfort but sadly not . Overal the hotel was pleasant but in my view certainly nor a 4*rating and did not merit the £120 price tag..room only rate /breakfast not included.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great bar in hotel and benches outside for good weather beside city centre
Cons: Rooms could have been cleaner needs a bit of a revamp
7.5 Good
Pros: We stayed here to attend the Country Music event at Ebrington Square so the walk along the Foyle river to there was lovely.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are lovely and have everything you could possibly need like tea/coffee, toiletries, hairdryer and ample towels. Large selection of hot and cold food at breakfast which you serve your self. I was in 24 Marlborough Street where the front door code and your room code were the same so no need for keys. Every room had a different key code which is sent to you roughly 24 hours before you arrive.

Pros: The location is perfect for a visit to Derry: close to the walled city, Peace Bridge, and Bogside area. I had an excellent view of the city from my window. There is a very cool park right at the end of the block. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is outstanding. I even met a few of the neighbors on the block.

Pros: Outstanding location, excellent facilities, room was above expectations including complimentary refrigerated soft drinks and snacks alongside the tea/coffee. Breakfast variety very good. Staff helpful as I arrived early but was able to park securely until check-in.

Cons: No car parking we had to wait for an hour to get parked in a car park opposite the hotel. I think when you pay for a room you should be entitled too a car space !
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Junior suite was fab. Location is superb and staff are more than helpful.
Cons: Check in from 3pm is a bit late. It is also worthwhile noting that I didn't arrive until 3.10 and my room was not ready. Not a huge deal as I was happy to wait but could be an issue for others. Car park is also too small for size of hotel and there is no.deals in place with local car parks.

Pros: The refurbished room was very comfortable although very warm. The staff were extremely courteous and professional in all depts. Food was very tasty and well cooked although the menu was restricted. Bar staff were very pleasant and good craic.
Cons: Noise from a wedding party and then from young footballers at 5.00am they had been playing in Foyle cup and we're letting off steam.
7.0 Good
Pros: Liked the location. Not too far from city centre and even though close to a busy road, it wasn’t noises at all. Nice gardens and surrounding area.
Cons: Hotel bar and restaurant was extremely quite and even staff said it hadn’t been busy for a long time. Meal times were quite awkward to have a conversation as you were one of only a few people in it. Snug Bar was only open when staff were available to be in it. Food wasn’t great either, very disappointed with it. It was a set cooked breakfast menu, which stated it came with soda bread and potato bread, but not once in 4 mornings did I get soda bread and after 2 days, one slice of potato bread was cut to half a slice. The eggs benedict with smoked salmon wasn’t actually smoked, it was a cooked salmon fillet. Good choice on dinner menu. Cleanliness could be better. Not once during our stay did the cleaners remove dirty glasses from the room. Very basic hotel that didn’t blow me away.

2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Original location seemed ok
Cons: Was sent to a 3 bedroom apt over 3km away from town with no hot water. the young guy blamed his wife for giving rooms awy to another 2couples without check their id's. the hot water didnt work in the morning and we called him and he said he would come in 15 min. He never showed and never returned the many calls.. We ended up having to heat water in the kitchen in pots and having birdbaths in the bathroom. A chair broke in the kitchen while sitting on it. He did not reduce the price due to inconvenience. He only paid us for 1 going and return taxi fare into town and said that is all he could do and that we would not find another hotel and that we were getting a deal...!?! Horrible experience at the trafalgar ct #2 apt. Never again

Pros: On departing left wallet with cards/money in room. Went back to reception when one of the staff was returning it. But stayed at 5 star hotel in Spain last year and had money stolen from the room. White horse staff honest and very friendly will definitely keep returning.

Pros: Food in restaurant is 10 out of 10. Really good! My stay was not long enough to make the most of spa treatments and pool, but next time I shall book a few extra days. We’ll worth it.
Cons: Being very picky, the pillow was a little firm for my tastes. My partner had no complaints, though, so probably just me.

2.2 Mediocre
Pros: The towels in the room were good sized. The location was reasona 6ble.
Cons: This facility is not a good value of any type. The room was in shabby condition, the staff was indifferent and the restaurant was abhorrent. I have stayed at Motel 6 units in the mid 1970's, paying $6.00 a night and found them better. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

Pros: Food in the restruant was very good.
