The Miyako Hotel in Los Angeles offers an exotic experience in one of America's most popular cities. The exterior of this sleek and modern hotel compliments the more traditional architecture of its neighbors in the Little Tokyo district. The hotel offers its guests free WiFi access, a fitness room and a business center available from 6 am to midnight. Open nightly until 2 am, the hotel's Ohjah Lounge is a classy and comfortable venue in which to enjoy karaoke and cocktails. The hotel's Tamon Restaurant is Little Tokyo's premier sushi destination and snacks and light meals are available at Café Take 5. The hotel is located a block from the Little Tokyo subway station and offers its guests free valet parking. Japanese style spa facilities available at the Miyako Hotel include Jacuzzis, saunas and a steam room with a "healing room" and patio offering the ultimate in relaxation.
Situated in the heart of Little Tokyo, guests at the Miyako Hotel will have little trouble finding traditional Japanese food or unique stores in the immediate vicinity. The Japanese American National Museum is situated only a couple blocks away and Chinatown and Olvera Street, the Hispanic district, are also nearby. The Museum of Contemporary Art is a short walk from the hotel and the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Getty Museum and Universal Studios are all within easy reach.
No breakfast included
Convenient location to little Tokyo shops and restaurants. Thick walls (we partied hard and had no complaints from our neighbors.) Japanese toilets, Spa inside hotel, fast elevators.
Not very spacious rooms, the spa was pretty expensive. For the price I paid I didn't get the kind of service I expected. We requested a spacious room, but our friends room was much larger.
Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Comfy beds. Nice deli and shop. Perfect location. FREE shuttle to E3!
The rooms needed more light.
Handy to lots of activities in Little Tokyo.
Refused to give us an extra room key.
Only the location
Parking here was horrible. Got there at 10 but they wouldn't valet my car saying the valet was full. I had to self park and continued with my day. When I went back to the hotel at 11pm. They turned me away once again saying the valet was full and I have to self park. With self park I needed to pay every time if I leave the lot. The room is so small and dated. This hotel is in desperate need for a refresh.
Near downtown LA
Hotel had an "old" look with the wallpaper starting to peel in the bathroom. I've never liked the Asian toilets with all the gadgets on the side of the toilet, gives the seating a cramped feeling. Too bad hotel doesn't offer breakfast, looking for a western breakfast nearby was not easy. We certainly did not like the "sticker shock" on the price of parking, the ad didn't mention it. Considering what is not around, no wonder Miyako has a good reputation.
Staff was not Customer friendly. Was given a room with only 1 bed. I had Asked for 2 beds. They wouldn't even give me a roll away as compensation. I ended up sleeping on the floor.
this was one of the cleanest hotels i've ever stayed in the us (no hair in the bed etc), staff very friendly, microlocation (little tokyo) excellent. free internet much appreciated!
This hotel is offering always excellent services & comfotatble rooms for stay. room rate is being reasonable.
The locations was super.
The hotel is old and need some redisigning.
did not have courtesy shuttle to pick up from airport
The location of the hotel is excellent, in an LA area that we didn't know but loved, Little Tokyo, right next to center downtown. Room was very comfortable and had a great valet parking service. Great value for money choice!
Quiet business-like hotel with friendly staff in interesting Little Tokyo neighbourhood with Japanese shops and cool sushibars.
Good location. Hotel meets all normal requirements. Valet service good. Toilet wc controls may be a bit over top !
Insects in central area of reception entrance. At face level. Watch for cleanliness there & elevators. A little bit old fashioned in decor. Tourist desk reception limited - needs encouraging. Expensive but location is good. Breakfast not included. Could be made more attractive to others. Restaurant English descriptions ? Ground floor cafe good location but is not very exciting.
fresh renovated, good location, good breakfast
The friendliness and efficiency of its staff, the tasteful way in which rooms are decorated, the view onto Los Angeles' sky-scrapers, extremely comfortable bed
Old-fashioned and shabby-looking lobby
how quiet it was
wished our room was one with a better view instead of the rooftop.
