9.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location
5.0 Okay
Pros: the staff were friendly, the location was very good and the historic building was lovely
Cons: The thing that spoilt really our stay was the breakfast which was badly organised with things coming late, having to ask for things 2 or 3 times, the quality of the food below par and the choice limited. A minor thing is that carpets in main halls were dreary and could do with replacing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is Excellent, room good size, clean, comfortable. Bed really comfy A home away from home, what stands out most is the staff. All are friendly and helpful, excellent customer service all round. Would definitely recommend this hotel
8.0 Excellent
Pros: very comfortable place to stay. Room was very clean and well done. Bed and pillows very very comfortable. well located, very central. nice staff too
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Apart from that everything was great. Ordered something from room service that was also great. There's a square next to the hotel with a few bars. If you're a light sleeper I'd be cautious if I were you. Or you can ask for a room facing the street and not the square that'll definitely be better because it can get noisy at night
Cons: It was just a little bit troublsome getting into the room. We had to make a few trips to the reception to get a key that actually worked. And even then each time we had to attempt a good 2/3 times to get the door to open.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Free coffee in morning
Cons: Parking is a 10 minute walk away from hotel In sleet not a good start. It was a Monday night and I was kept awake by noise in courtyard at the rear of the building and the View was only of a wall from my room
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Every time we came back to the room, the key didn't work, one of us had to go down to get a new one cut.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good location. Comfortable room.
Cons: The WiFi did not work on either my laptop or phone. Changing rooms did not fix it. It failed to assign an IP so I expect that their DHCP has too-low a limit on dynamic leases.

7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast served and not buffet
Cons: No tea / coffee making facilities in room . I did request a tea tray but it never materialised. There were lovely drink stations on the corridor but mine was quite a walk from my room and not ideal for first morning drink
6.0 Good
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Vents which were noisy directly outside bedroom window and noise from students on early hours on Saturday morning
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Well decorated well maintained well equipped pleasant hotel.
Cons: Hotel can be a bit too warm both corridors and rooms
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely comfortable beds, fantastic coffee machine, great facilities and room design.
Cons: The shower lost water pressure after five minutes or so.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Leafy setting, close to university halls of residence, so ideally located for parents like us delivering 1st year student for fresher week. Mostly young staff, all friendly, obliging and polite. Coffee machine and giant cookie jar (sometimes empty!) on each floor. No bath in our room, but very good shower, which has almost converted my bath-loving, shower-hating spouse. Breakfast and attentive service excellent.
Cons: Shower plughole blocked, so had to keep turning shower off to allow water to drain away - very slowly. Much to my wife's annoyance, bathroom extractor fan refused to switch off, keeping her awake. No view from our particular room, unless you consider a flat roof populated with air-conditioning units a view. No clean cups left at coffee-making station even at 7:30 am.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Was perfect for my needs - comfortable and good value for money
Cons: Nothing

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed
Cons: Toilet seat didn't fit properly and moved all the time when sat on it.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed over at the venue as we were guests at a wedding. The facilities were superb and clean. The staff at all points, reception, MC, bar staff were all friendly, polite and helpful.
Cons: More a booking.com issue than the hotel as I had thought the option selected had included breakfast but nothing in the booking confirmation showed this. Breakfast booked on site during check-in was at a reduced rate though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was excellent, staff very friendly and very helpful, the hotel is beautiful with grounds, plenty of parking and quiet away from the noise, next to the motorway making it easy to reach nearby areas
Cons: The radiator in the bathroom was on a timer, so it didn't come on the first night - but easy to fix
5.0 Okay
Pros: The convenience to church for a wedding.
Cons: Standard room was very small. Very little storage space and heating was not very effective (It was very cold and snowing outside)
7.7 Good

Cons: no complaints
6.0 Good
Pros: On arrival there is a lovely gas fire which was welcoming and a big smile from the staff:)Our room was a luxery one which was! I loved the bathx
Cons: the price in the the bar was way too steep £13.00 for a G@T and a lager? crazy! The breakfast had been cooked way in advance and was hard and tasteless shame:(
4.3 Okay
Cons: Unclean room, hairs in bath, broken tap, tv remote didn't work and very bad reception on tv. Cold breakfast in room and out of date products served
6.3 Good
Pros: Room nice and clean and comfortable. Staff very hardworking and polite, they did what they could to make my friends' wedding breakfast and reception go well and look after the guests. Food was very good for the wedding breakfast, evening buffet and breakfast the following morning. Bar prices very reasonable considering the environment etc.
Cons: Minor point, but at a few times, the single bar man on the residential bar could have done with some assistance to reduce queing time - but very minor point.
6.4 Good
Pros: Good size room, relaxed atmosphere & excellent dinner Saturday evening
Cons: Additional lighting in room would have been useful. Unfortunately both our main courses had to be sent back Sunday evening but the matter was dealt with courteously and promptly.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: How friendly the staff were . The accomdation and setting Convenience for visiting family in Dinnington and Sheffield
Cons: no
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location, fabulously presented
Cons: Saturday night on the first floor was disturbed by wedding party revellers in the garden below. Please consider internal secondary glazing for noise attenuation. We appreciate it must be a listed building. Our second bedroom, Empire Fork, had no mirror at reasonable height to apply make up, consider a mirror stand on the desk. We are optimistic that these can be easily rectified and remember only the fabulous presentation.
6.4 Good
Pros: the bed and the view out the back
Cons: bathroom was in need of an update
6.8 Good
Pros: Very peaceful and relaxing.
Cons: No

2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Very little. I suppose the heating worked OK. It was warm in the room, even with the radiator turned down and the window open. The white bedding and towels seemed clean, but note my comment about the bleach smell... Another wash after the bleaching might be a good idea, so they smelled more fresh.
Cons: Arrived in the evening, as Storm Ciara was starting. No fire lit in the bar, which was full of customers who turned to stare as I walked in... I don't think that was just for me, but they probably do this to every stranger... I found reception (not obvious, or signposted,) where a young boy stood, and an older man sat behind, on a computer, older man didn't acknowledge me at all. Boy said I was in Room 13...an outside room round the back of main pub... Needed to walk along the roadside to get from the pub to the room. I asked for a room inside... I was a woman staying on my own, would feel much safer within the main part of the building, and fancied a cosy night inside, eating at the bar and enjoying the fire... Although rooms inside the pub were available, the staff were reluctant for me to have one. The older man, who had ignored this conversation so far, when asked by the boy, said "only twins" were free. I said I didn't mind, but he said "well, go and look at 13... If you really want to change, you can come back," I felt as if that would be a huge imposition. Neither man was welcoming or accommodating. I was not offered breakfast when I checked in, nor on checking out in the morning. The boy said he would take me to my outside room, and that we could go two ways: upstairs then back down again to a back door, , or through the bar and round the outside... He decided to take me through the bar, "so you don't have to lug your bags up and down stairs, "... At which, the young lad set off, arms swinging, whilst I walked behind, dragging my luggage. We went through the bar, outside into the rain and wind onto the roadside, walked along the pavement by the main road, round the back of the building, down a dark alleyway into a small courtyard behind the pub. Old furniture was stacked in front of doorways.. The room was in a converted stable block, one of 3 or 4, with the pub kitchen doorway and beer cellar nearby.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The location. Staff were friendly
Cons: I didn't like sitting in the reception area for my dinner, surrounded by coats, phone calls and no other people. They moved us but to a coffee table and 2 leather chairs which would have been difficult to eat at. Also the food wasn't nice.
7.5 Good
Cons: Got bill wrong and tried to charge me for the ammount I'd already paid booking. Com and a beer I didn't have.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location for us, with great views
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our second visit here and once again it did not disappoint. The staff are always warm friendly and professional a real asset to the Hotel,

Pros: Breakfast was cooked fresh and to order
Cons: Hair from previous user left in bath Toilet was filthy The heating didn’t work Food was poor Shower was too low had to kneel to shower The shower water was pulsing on off
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Suited our needs perfectly. A comfy and good value stop off on a trip. The staff were welcoming and the room was nice for the price. Good pub food in the evening - it’s a large restaurant so didn’t need to worry about booking. Nice to have Abbeydale beer as well as Green King. A decent, hearty breakfast included in the room price. Location near the motorway and large car park suited our needs as through-travellers.
Cons: The fixed shower head was too low for me (6foot2). They were a bit understaffed at breakfast so it was slightly slow, but can’t fault the staff who were there doing their best. It’s right on a roundabout which was absolutely fine for us for one night but might not suit everybody.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: value cleanliness restauarant staff
Cons: Breakfast was at 8am. We needed to be away by then so couldnt have any. No wifi

7.1 Good
Pros: The hotel staff were friendly and couldn’t help enough, the masseuse was brilliant, very relaxing and worth it.
Cons: When we visited the spa the young lady at reception didn’t seem to know what she was doing, didn’t give the discount we should have been given and wasn’t welcoming. I asked about the facilities and was given one worded answers.
7.1 Good
Pros: The location was very good, lots of parking, lovely staff at the reception
Cons: The staff in the leisure facilities (gym and pool) were not helpful at all - didn’t tell us to sign in initially, didn’t give us locker tokens, didn’t explain where the gym was, didn’t offer us towels (even though they knew we were going to use the pool) etc
9.0 Excellent

7.0 Good
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay but it might not be everyone's cup of tea as it's a local pub with rooms rather than a hotel. The locals are very friendly as is the landlord. Both cooked breakfasts were excellent (one traditional, one veggie) and perfectly cooked. Plenty of on street parking. The room was functional, clean and tidy.
Cons: The pub is in need of some refurbishment and the mattress could have been a bit thicker.

Pros: Room and beds, warm and comfy. Breakfast super, lovely bacon, sausages, eggs and beans....great start to the day. Tom was very attentive , friendly and helpful. We weren't too far from the University, plenty of trams and buses, from stop up the road. Thank you Tom.
Cons: No problems.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: This is the worst place I have ever stayed. Filthy and damp. I would NOT recommend this place.
Cons: I would give this B&B zero star. The towels are very old, very dirty and smelly. You need to be a genius to work out the old and cold shower. The place was dirty and damp I didn’t even dare to go near the breakfast area. On the first night I was thinking about just leaving and get another place but unfortunately I had a lot of money for three nights so I stayed but on the first evening I went to Homebargain to towels and other basic hygiene stuff.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff! Everyone we spoke to was friendly, in good spirits and they all seemed to love working at the hotel. A great working culture. The old Hellerby Hall building! Wow! Beautifully restored. Would have liked to have stayed longer to enjoy dinner and a drink in the bar. Will come back! The gym is kitted out to a high standard, with plenty of equipment and very clean. Would have loved to use the spa as without doubt it would be very good and apparently the outside spa area opened only recently so all new! Very good breakfast.
Cons: We would like to have stayed longer!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good location for visiting family in Maltby and Sprotbrough. Nice character, very clean and friendly, helpful staff.
Cons: We found being in an executive room, on the second floor, there was a long way to walk for breakfast each morning, even though it was on the same floor. If there was a portable trolley for luggage, it would have made it easier when transferring to room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super clean, friendly staff, lovely surroundings. Our room in the old building overlooked the garden which was beautiful. The room was a great size with an enormous very comfy bed. The bathroom was very impressive. Dinner was excellent, presentation was stunning and very tasty. Breakfast was plentiful and well cooked. Would definitely stay again.

6.7 Good
Pros: Easy access to M1 and M18
Cons: Key cards didn’t work at times and lift really slow. Also a lot of noise from other guests late at night.
6.0 Good
Pros: shower was lovely, it was clean, but basic but we expected that for the price
Cons: didn't like the milk cartons for the drinks, and could have had more of a selection
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was fine; the bed comfortable. The breakfast was good but perhaps the best thing was Carole who welcomed us to breakfast with "I'm here to look after you this morning" and proceeded to do just that by showing us exactly where to find everything and then busying herself by replenishing the dishes as they ran down. All staff were very helpful and friendly.
Cons: There was only one medium towel each, not a hand towel and a bath towel. The tea tray had a stained, obviously previously used, mat under one of the mugs.
7.9 Good
Pros: cheap comfy
Cons: cups in room were not clean .more towels needed
