7.0 Good
Pros: Lovely location and view, friendly staff, and the pods were very cosy and homely. Great location, being so close to brighton and yet such beautiful countryside. I would absolutely stay here again, just keeping those other things in mind so that I'm not caught off guard. The self catering opportunities are great, and the breakfast was lovely too, great value for how much we spent.
Cons: I don't want to blame the yha for this as it was more my misunderstanding, but just so others are clear, the pods just have the beds in them and one socket, may be worth bringing an extension lead. The bathroom is in the main building, and I'm sure the shower is too but we had to leave in a rush. Also be aware the breakfast finishes around 9, and we were caught our by sleeping late. Not so much what we didn't like, more points to be aware of
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I stayed in a pod. It was warm and cosy. Everything was clean and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and I enjoyed a lovely meal in the cafe.

Pros: Very helpful staff at evening when I arrived to check in even if they were busy ; the same in the morning for breakfast + check-out. Lots of walkers apparently. Nice wee view on the hills from the dining room. They also have facilities such as common kitchen, lounge and drying room I haven't tried. Nice old barn building, relaxing environnement.

Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was amazing. Room was comfortable and affordable.
Cons: The way to the hotel was muddy because it was raining before. No free towel.
7.9 Good
Pros: The camping pods were comfortable and warm. The shared facilities were clean, spacious and secure.
Cons: The camping pod lacked security, the keys were often “jammy” in the door.

6.7 Good
Pros: The location and the age and the beauty of the building is amazing! The staff were all friendly and the facilities seemed good, although we didn’t use them as we were visiting family!
Cons: The rooms were clean, we dis however find ants in our room, bathroom and in the conservatory! The ‘newer’ bits are very dated and need updating!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff friendly and welcoming. Great having parking facilities. Loved the log fire in the lounge. Enjoyed the central location.
Cons: I couldn't find a hair dryer. There was a dog staying in an adjacent room which yapped late into the night. The coffee at breakfast was cold - of course I should have asked for fresh, but didn't. My fault.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location was central.
Cons: Pool and spa cold, shower area dirty. General cleanliness could be better. Breakfast ok but no hot food, coffee lukewarm.
6.0 Good
Pros: Friendly staff. The building has tons of character - sloping floors, beams, antique furniture.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This in was great. Complete blown us away. Honestly expected something awful since it's by an A road. But we could barely hearing it with the windows shut and after midnight it was very quiet anyway. The staff were absolutely wonderful and accomodating. We saw them re-open the kitchen for someone who couldn't make it in time for dinner. The food was also great and portion sizes were great. There is an absolutely ace pub dog here. He is the best boy and is super docile. The room it self was lovely. It was in great condition and everything was really clean. Way cleaner then some hotel rooms I've been in from like premier Inn ect. 11/10 would stay again. Value for money!!!! Literally half the price of hotels in Brighton and it had free parking.
Cons: The location for us was a little out of the way as we were actually focused on Brighton, but it was a compromise we chose for the price and it was like 15 minutes of good road to Brighton which really isn't all that bad.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect for my needs. The room and bathroom were spacious and well equipped. The staff were amazing - they couldn't have been more helpful. It was a late booking and I requested a downstairs room due to health reasons, thinking that it may not be possible at such late notice, but received confirmation quickly that my request would be met. Despite the location near a busy road, I did not hear the traffic at all. Breakfast the next morning was freshly cooked and one of the best "full English" I've ever had ! If you're looking for a stopover from the Newhaven ferry or a place near to Brighton that is true value for money, look no further - you won't beat The Newmarket Inn!
Cons: Nothing - everything was great!

Pros: Ideally positioned Full of charm Excellent value Hospitable hostess and staff
Cons: It’s tired in places - upholstery and carpets need some TLC
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was small but tasty good location. Lovely period place ,comfy bed
Cons: I requested early check in and had an email confirmation saying I could check in between 11 and 12 then was told I couldn't, one of your reception staff was overly paranoid about the Corona virus ,every time I stepped towards her she took several steps away from me !!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfectly central in an adorable, quaint old town..with parking! The hotel looked lovely from the outside and wasn't a disappointment inside. Large airy public rooms, beautifully and tastefully decorated. Warm welcome. Breakfast was delightful, looking on to a gorgeous garden that has made me think I wish to return and sit outside in the warmer weather. Breakfast was hot (so many aren't sadly), service exemplary and a great start to the day. Checkout smooth and friendly. What a great find, will return soon.
Cons: We asked for ice via room service which was very slow, it eventually arrived (delay due to new visitors arriving and checking in). A very small complaint in an otherwise perfect stay, I had to actually think about something that wasn't perfect during out stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was great and the room was nice and warm
Cons: The TV in the room was tiny but it worked so that is all I could really say that could of been better but only a small issue (no pun intended)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Yes the croissants were flakey Room and breakfast excellent and great car park.
Cons: Unhappy with the receptionist when we left. We had prepaid for room and breakfast and left the key on the drawl on leaving. She chased us into the car park thinking we hadn’t paid . It’s not a massive hotel and she should have checked first thing that morning which guests were checking out and might have some monies owing.

Pros: The owner and staff were lovely. Very hospitable and welcoming. The room was a decent size and well furnished and we had a fridge and were provided fresh milk for teas and coffees in the room. The bathroom had been recently refurbished and was very modern and clean.
Cons: Unfortunately the bed had definitely seen better days and was pretty uncomfortable. Pros: Gorgeous home! The views all around the house are stunning. The bathroom was luxury with a big powerful shower. I wanted to take the bed home with me, was like sleeping on a cloud and the heated floors in the morning was a lovely touch!
Cons: Nothing to say here really because I loved everything about our stay, just one pointer the lovely complimentary slippers which by the way were the softest slippers I’ve ever worn! They were a perfect fit for a woman’s foot but not for a mans.

1.0 Poor
Pros: The breakfast had a good selection. The decor was beautiful. The rooms looked luxurious.
Cons: We had a mouse in our room and had to be moved to another room the following day. We had to cover the air vents with A4 paper from fear that the mouse would get into our room. The scratching persisted all night. We didn't move in the night as I didn't want to disturb my daughter. This absolutely spoilt our stay and made us super paranoid the whole time we stayed in this hotel. We were unable to request a pizza with no cheese for room service which was a real surprise in this day and age. The bed provided to my daughter was not comfortable in both rooms and she had to sleep with the adults.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were meant to be in Rome but our flights were cancelled due to the Coronavirus, so we went to Brighton. We were originally staying in the Jury's Inn but their staff were rude and the spa was closed so we decided to venture out and we found this gem! The reception staff looked after us so well, the complimentary gin in the room was a great touch, the bar was lovely down stairs, food was great and reasonable price and to top it off, the spa was brilliant (and clean). We cannot wait to stay there again!
Cons: The drinks took a very long time to make downstairs. The rooms are small.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a superior sea view room on the 4th floor. The views were lovely and high enough to avoid some of the traffic noise. The location was great, as was the spa. Lots of choice at breakfast too which was great.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The swimming pool is a hidden gem and well worth going to. The bed was huge and extra comfortable.
Cons: Breakfast starting way too late if you want to get the ferry in Newhaven. The seal of the window was worn out and therefore the room was noisy because of the wind....such a pity as the rest was great.

Pros: Lovely place with friendly staff and a super breakfast
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Little homely touches. Breakfast was outstanding.
Cons: Feeling the join of the 2 single beds pulled together.
7.0 Good
Pros: The owner and staff were lovely.
The mattress had a very noticeable dip in the middle and towards the edge where people had sat on it and worn it down. The room we stayed in had a TV which was useful for bedtime but the friends we stayed with didn't have one.

8.8 Excellent

7.0 Good
Pros: Lovely location and view, friendly staff, and the pods were very cosy and homely.
