Pros: Very clean and well lit, lobby very inviting. 2 courteous staff working the desk made the process fast and easy. Coffee and soft drinks available 24/7. Room was clean, bed very comfortable, bathroom well laid out. Was at first afraid when I saw my room next to the ice maker but never heard it after I closed my door. Also never heard any road noise. Great stay. I stay in about 30 hotel and motel stays a year and would rate this either number one or two in the last 3 years. The hot breakfast was even better than average.
Cons: It was a great stay, but the first night I was next to a group of loud kids. It happens no biggie
Pros: Great location, J.P. Morgan's restaurant is excellent. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Cons: Mattresses need updating as they are very hard, this takes some getting used to.
Pros: Dinner was excellent in the restaurant (JP Morgan?)and reasonably priced. One of the best meals we had on our trip. Convenient parking outside the hotel. Centrally located in the middle of Montpelier. Excellent quality bathroom toiletries.
Pros: Pleasant staff member, just not helpful when I had a problem. Sheets appeared clean and bathroom appeared reasonably clean but very worn and chipped and stained.
Cons: I stay in about 30 hotels and motels a year and this has now made the rating of the worst one out of the last 3-4 years, so at least a 100 hotels. From the outside, it looks like an abandoned building, even their sign appears to be falling over. It is surrounded by an old motel and restaurant that look to have been part of the same complex that are all boarded up with plywood with weeds and vines growing over them. Wow, like a bad movie. Very dark rooms, smelled hot and damp and AC was marginal in trying to keep room cool. Room had black trim work and furniture, chipped and worn. Wallpaper was two shades of brown and carpet was black and brown and had a vague damp greasy feel to it. Lamps were very marginal to light the room enough to read and one of the main lights had a burned out bulb. Asked down at the desk for a replacement and was told they didn't have any replacements and would have to call someone and it might be an hour or two. Checked after two hours and told person hadn't come in yet. Asked if they could borrow one from another room (the place had lots of empty rooms and told not allowed. Went to bed a few hours later and never even got a follow-up call. This would be a very poor marginal hotel at $39 night and is an insult at >$100 for the stay. Time to shut it down until renovated.
Pros: Large bed, cleanliness was good. Breakfast included was unexpected.
Cons: Older decor, and very old vending machine products....scary.
Pros: You received the basics: clean room and bed, a good breakfast, and a nice warm shower
Cons: Didn't get my wake up call. Tub was filthy. Room smelled
Cons: shower pressure poor due to water stop wasn't working correctly and water was going through tub as well
Pros: The room was clean and the heater worked. This is critical in Vermont.
Cons: Thin sheets on the bed. One bed had dirty sheets or they couldn't get a stain out. In Vermont you have to offer comforters at least.
Pros: The food is basic motel fare and the staff are very pleasant. This is a basic place to stay, get sleep and to about your daily events. Plenty of hot water for showers and the location is excellent.
Cons: Cleanliness has always been a problem here. Some rooms are better than others as they have been slowly freshening the rooms. Again, basic place to sleep at night.
Pros: Fine room for the money
Cons: Breakfast was pretty weak
Pros: Kind and helpful front-desk staff, very convenient location to Montpelier & Barre.
Cons: The pool and pool building was pretty cool (cold), so we couldn't enjoy it as long as planned.
Pros: The locations was great - right between Montpelier and Barre, Vermont which easy access from I-89.
it smelled clean, but the building was old.
It seemed to be a place that contractors and truckers used for a place to stay while working in the area or traveling through so it was quiet.
Cons: No elevator.
Outside doors are unlocked until midnight. When they are locked you have to use the main entrance - you cannot use your hotel key to open the door closest to your room. It was a little scary to be walking in at 10:30 pm and the door was unlocked and I had to you the staircase to get to my room.
The comforter on one bed had stains on it.
The tub did not drain and the spigot was covered in calcium buildup.
Only 1 set of vending machines and only 1 ice machine.
