This is one of the best hotels I've stayed at. It is located in the old jail in Oxford and has managed to build modern and extremely comfortable facilities into that space without losing the historical charm. The staff were amazing, helpful and very accomodating. The rooms were large, the in-room snacks were great and the facilities were just lovely all round. My room was in the new section, with a balcony and opening doors that looked out onto the castle mound - a delight with daffodils every afternoon. The location is very central and we were able to walk to most places we needed, but reception called a taxi for us efficiently when we needed that too.
The room and location was great. Breakfast was nonexistent due to the currant pandemic.
The communication from staff was a bit hit and miss. We was told about having a hot breakfast bought to the room in the morning because the brassiere was shut due to pandemic, only to find out in the morning when it didn’t turn up that it wouldn’t be possible to have one.
The hotel was super clean and the staff, especially Giovanni, were very helpful. I an Quite pedantic normally and there was really nothing to complain about! Will def recommend!
The showers were a bit detrimental Maybe some super foaming soap for he tub would be a great idea to have!
The staff were rude
