With its origins in the seventeenth century, Quinta da Capela was classified as a monument of public interest, having belonged for centuries to the illustrious family Leal, whose members were Viscounts, Directors and Governors. The propoerty is surrounded by water courses and old trails, in a truly peaceful and relaxing environment, where you can easily let ourselves be guided by inspiration. Here one breathes culture, history and the scent of wild flowers, and we can also see breathtaking scenery, sea, mountains and valleys. On sunny days you can see the contours of the neighboring island of Porto Santo. A small chapel dedicated to St John Nepumeceno, once restored, was blessed on December 12, 1995 by the Bishop of Funchal. This house is dated 1692, however, the chapel was built later in 1777. Very exposed to the sun, this home is well situated. It was fully restored in the early 1990s, as it was in complete ruin, and equipped with antiques in every room. It has kept the original design, as well as the floors of their own time. It has 4 bedrooms, all with en-suite bathroom, a living room, dining room, kitchen (with traditional bread oven, etc.). The kitchen is complete and can be enjoyed at any time by our guests. The small village of Porto da Cruz is 3 km away from the property. This town has beach, pool, church, pharmacy, health center, civic center, restaurants on the seafront, cafes, supermarket, etc. The parish is rich in traditions and its people are hospitable.Here is cultivated diverse agriculture, especially the famous American wine.
