The sea view only! The hotel was not 4 stars at all it messes many things very poor and old hotel no air conditioning in the lobby..Very poor restaurant breakfeast..
There is a heated salt water pool which is a bonus since the sea in Santa Margheritia is not veryinviting. The set dinner is good value for money and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is badly in need of renovation and the room are very basic. The breakfast is very unimaginitive - even for Italy!
good location and hotel with pool nearby the beach Very old hotel with minimum confort (the wooden floor was broken in bedrooms and very dangerous : does not value 4 stars hotel at all (a 2 stars would be enough !!!)
Only the view from the balcony (6th floor). The bay view of Santa Margherita Ligure was breathtaking. The rooms and furniture are very old. The bathrooms have been designed for dwarves (very small). Two elevators large like a postage stamp. This hotel is not worth to carry 4 stars.
The desk staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. The views from the roo were spectacular. The food in the restaurant was the worst I ate in Italy. The rooms need updating.
Please write at least 15 words. The pool, the rooms, the staff, the location. The very small showers. Lack of tourist information for things to do.
Swimming pool and breakfast area were very good indeed what was described as a garden view was in fact a dustbin view but did not detract from our stay. Bathroom was very dated and needed upgrading
Nice location Its misleading that one must pay more money for housekeeping to come and clean the room..I Have never heard of this before. Was not happy that parking was not included in the price of the hotel also
Convenient clean hotel good location plenty of scuba diving activity A bit outdated and not very charming
We enjoyed the luxury in the hotel, and the great view from our room, the beautiful swimming pool and the friendly staff. Rapallo is a lovely town with a harbour and some nice restaurants. Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligurie are around the corner, so great hotel to stay if you are visiting Portofino and surroundings.
location we stayed at this hotel purely because it advertised a swimming pool . Only to discover that you have to pay 36 euro to have access to the pool , per person per 24 hours . A complete rip off . Have never experienced this in any hotel world wide . The service is Not 5* , Front desk staff answer the telephone whilst attending to a customer, anyone in the service industry would know that this is a definate No No ?? for the price of this hotel for one night you should be able to get 2 nights at an equally nice hotel . If you want 5 star service and facilitys forget Italy , Go to Dubai ...
Everything was Perfect!!!!
A really beautiful hotel with charm and courtesy. The staff were very well mannered and attentive. The views from the dinning were stunning and the food excellent.
perfect location...perfect views ...most luxourios in portofino coast but rooms to be renovated and there must be coffee an tea facilieties in the room but over all a very pleasent stay in great portofino..
Staffs are nice, the food is good. View from our room is fantastic. The mattress is too soft
Location and lovely view from hotel room window. We were there a very short time so did not get to use all the hotel facilities. We were very disappointed with the meal we had in the Lord Byron restaurant - not value for money. The courses were very expensive but the food we had was very mediocre. Breakfast was good however.
A wonderful hotel in every respect Very minor---At breakfast each day, the eggs, and bacon were cold even though I was there quite early (between 7 and 8).
Very gorgeous hotel -- perfectly appointed. the height of luxury and very nice staff.great breakfast bufffet. loved the health spa and pool area. lovely clean rooms -- just perfect in every wat. My dinner of a very small amount of pasta (without meat) was very very expensive for what I got -- amounted to about $30. U.S. for a tiny bowl of pasta and no vegies or anything else with it.
We felt very welcome and enjoyed every moment. The view and the friendly staff were just wonderful.
Fantastic location and facilities. Only disappointment was the Lord Byron Restaurant. Food disappointing and given the cost very poor value.
Bar - enjoying view and relaxing in the hotel environment
the view, and free parking yes they must add for mosquito repellent. there are far too many in the rooms and bathrooms.
The hotel is a short walk to the town, but very convenient for the shops, restaurants and tours etc. The room ( junior suite) ws very comfortable, clean and practical..... howwever, a lounging chair would have been appreciated. Breakfast was outstanding with very friendly staff. The hotel front desk was helpful. Lack of tea making facilities in the room (Ausssies like their tea etc),
freindly staff, good value, would go again any time would highly recommend this hotel and I have stayed in many high quality hotels this was the best one. pillow's not vey good lumpy should have been feather for the price of room
The best part was the excellent restaurant and the view from it. I would really stay there again. It is really a lovely hotel. For some reason Kayak system did not recognize that I did the reservation for 2 adults and a 7 years old child, so when I got at the hotel wasn't aware of the child. Therefore the rate was different and they had to fix the room at the last minute.
The view from our room was perfect De food in the restaurant on the roof was a shame. Incredibly bad for a hotel of this class and in a foodmecca like Italy.
Very Clean The food is very limited and there is no body cream
Fantastic views of the bay. Very helpful and polite staff. Nice restaurant on the roof garden.
Great service at the bar and fantastic Mojitos. Tiny shower.
I liked everything about this Hotel. It is elegant, friendly, perfectly situated, lovely staff, lovely tranquil garden and a superb restaurant , Il Trattato, which serves imaginative food of a very high standard ( obviously a talented chef is at work here ! ). The wine list is a most comprehensive selection of Italian wines from all over Italy - big and small names - and was a joy to peruse. On leaving I said to the receptionist that all that was needed was a swimming pool ( an unusual asset in hotels in this area which are beside the sea and in the town ), wherewith she took out a booklet detailing that a swimming pool would be built this winter in the lovely garden. I shall return next summer to see and enjoy it and meet my friends there
personel was veery well prepared for guests. I just want to heat up food for our son and when lift stoped on 0 porter have seen me with bottles. he ask somebody, no question to me before, to come and help me. thew manager, probably, ran to me, took all my things and ask: how long in oven? I said 30 sec. he said I am back in 50 sec. excelent. thanks. poor breakfast without any idea, unfortunately.
all OK all OK
Great location, and the fact it is a very old hotel that has been brought up to modern standards while still maintaining the old charm.
Well situated short walk from city center and sea, free parking and baby bed.
very friendly staff, good breakfast selection Somewhat noisy at night due to beach front location
Very central and convenient. Comfortable Room was small considering the price paid. The lift was so small we couldnt get in it with our overnight bags and the reception person.
The location is fantastic! You are right at the edge of the water. Easy to get around from this hotel. Will stay again!! Staff was helpful and all recommendations were perfect.
Big rooms, excellent breakfast and good location
It was a comfortable hotel with large rooms. Reception staff were helpful. Central location for city centre shops and sights. Walking distance from the rail and bus stations and the ferry terminal. A problem with the TV was quickly put right.
excellent view convenient spot for everything noise of traffic
An excellent location to visit the magnificent sites along the coast. Views from our window were incredible. The staff were friendly and very helpful in many ways. The restaurant reservations were perfect! The street noise was our only concern, but the location and view were worth the noise.
The hotel has a great sea view & is very close to all amenities. Perfect location. The bathroom doesn't have a lot of space to hold toiletrees but all facilities are good. If booking a room with a seaview (with our without a terrace) note there may be noise from the street outside.
Beautiful view, Clean, Friendly Staff, Great Location The shower was clean, but had very little water pressure.
Truly excellent staff - very helpful and welcoming; superb location; wonderful views of the bay - even more beautiful than in the pictures on the website. Would like to stay at this hotel again.
Perfect tourist class hotel. Really small things: no kettle in the room, noisy ventilator in te bathroom, noisy A/C in the room (we could turn off the both noisy things).
Very helpful staff and great location in the city center only a few steps from the lovely seaside promenade.
Great location - we were lucky to get parking nearby though
Very nice hotel with clean rooms..The staff was helpful..The bathroom was clean and big enough (for the triple room)..The towels also veru clean The windows needs change and the breakfast wasnt so rich..It was good but not very good
Nice clean rooms in the centre of Rapallo and friendly staff.
We whould hhave appreciated better instructions about reaching the hotel from the Malpensa Airport. We took a taxi because we didn't know it there were any alternatives.
The hotel is well situated, it is in a quiet location but only a minute walk from the sea front. I found the staff, especially at the reception, to be the most polite, warm and cosiderate I have ever come across. I would have liked a little more choice in the breakfast buffet.
clean hotel location not quite what we expected, on top of shopping centre, but very quiet though and handy for shops
nothing specific - it was ok - i booked a car park place, and arrived at 7:30PM to be told that it was too late for the parking- they provided an alternative, however the point is that they should warn of any time expectation. Also, the breakfast was very basic
great location in heart of city. Easy walk from train or to beach. Older rooms but kept up nicely Rooms are dark and entrance to the hotel is in a very congested area.
The bed was great, the view of the garden incredible, the staff friendly and helpful and location is incredible. No
Great clasical style hotel which was recently remodeled. Valet parking. Saltwater pool. Excellent view. Centrally located. There were no niggers present at this hotel. The clientele was exclusively human. They charge €20 for the valet parking, but do not inform you of it ahead of time. The breakfast was only average.
That we received complimentary drinks on arrival and were upgraded to a room with a sea view. The breakfast was also pretty good They allow dogs in the room and our bathroom smelt like a wet dog. The bed was not as comfortable as I would have wanted. The hotel seemed dated. There was no gym to use. I believe that the price was over valued
The location and the beach are by far the best in Santa Margherita. The facilities are gorgeous and the views are heaven. The rooms are pretty old and basic. The bed was also very uncomfortable.
Very efficient friendly staff and excellent breakfast with great view over the bay. shower leaks all over floor in bath room due to curtain over bath. Bad design. common fault but was damaging bathroom door and woodwork. small point , pity.
We both found the staff extremely helpful and very considerate. everything we asked to be done was carried-out with aplomb. The double-glazing and double door to the hall-way were good for sound insulation but a ventilator in the inner wall allowed all the hall noise to filtrate into the room each morning.
i like the friendly staff, the free use of computer terminal, the dinning room, the location (except a bit noisy at night), and the view. The noise from cars at night, the distance to the train station, and lack of a large lounge for sitting around. it will be ideal to have a free shuttle to the train station on request and advance booking.
Beautiful hotel in a great location. Lovely sea-view room. Staff highly knowledgeable and friendly.
lovely old style hotel with great outlook and (from sea view room) nice view and balcony, good breakfast, staff very efficient.
As a solo traveller I felt very comfortable here. The staff were professional, helpful and friendly and I hope to return one day. Altogether a very relaxing experience. I have no complaints. Everything was done to make my stay very enjoyable.
We loved our suite at the Lido Palace Hotel. It was roomy and the view was so beautiful. The included breakfast buffet was wonderful and the staff were very accomodating and friendly.
The location was perfect. It was convenient to the train station and other attractions in the area. The staff was also very helpful. The room decor was dated and basic.
Location of the hotel and view of the harbor is perfect. Staff was friendly and helpfull. The hotel is outdated and needs renovation. There is no safe in the room. The meal for breakfast (particularly sausage) was not fresh. Very high price for parking.
My worst experience in 16 years visitiing italy Over priced for a 4 star hotel, it should be a 3 star ratred, one of the noisest hotels that I have stayed in
Having a junior suite at good price. No kettle + tea bags+ coffee in the room
Location was excellent. Very basic, old fashioned hotel. Stuck in the 70's decor. We were charged £4 for ice and an ice bucket. Very poor value for money, would not recommend it.
Location- fantastic. junior suite or above is a must- again fantastic.( but all rooms are V. comfortable) Views-fantastic. Staff lovely and helpful, restaurant good, American bar bright and cool, secure garage for your car. A great place for young or old, couples or singles. We will return next year with our new baby! Make sure you iron evrything before you go, as they dont provide irons (against IT law) and the ironing service is expensive (e25 for 6 items). Breakfast was a bit disappointing, ie quality & range of continental breakfast poorish. ( asked for a tomato and was told it would cost e1 extra !!) Saying all that, it will not put us off from staying again.
I twas so convenient with beautiful views. The staff was wonderful and very informative. No
The easy location. The interior decoration of the hotel, while redone and clean, is not at all in line with the elegance of the exterior and with the rating. The room did not live up to the "deluxe suite" appellation, did not correspond to the photographs when I made the booking, and was decorated in solid but fairly tasteless "holiday apartment" style. Plus, the interior corridors feel oddly institutional. Also, the coffee at breakfast was scorched filter coffee in pots ona burner - not very Italian!
We are a family of 3, and there was ample room in our 2 room suite for all of us, with my husband and me in a bedroom, and our 16 year old son on a very comfortable pull-out couch in the living room. The view was fantastic - we looked out over the sea and the beautiful surrounding scenery. The hotel was conveniently located and the staff was helpful and very pleasant to work with. Nothing.
great location and beautiful scenery. the only complaint we had is we were in room 204 and we could hear the sound of water pumps kicking in and out all night. the staff offered to move us but we had already settled in for the night. otherwise would highly recomend it see above
We were upgraded to a room with a view over the water - it was fantastic. When we checked in they kept our passports whilst we were shown to our room, I would have preferred to be given our passports back straight away.
This was an excellent hotel with excellent staff. We were met at the car park and nothing was too much touble. The breakfasts were very good and the room was also first class with a wonderful view. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and location.
The room was a good size for an Italian hotel, and the terrace overlooking the bay was ideal. The breakfast needs to be improved. Packaged cookies / muffins and no fresh juice are sub-standard for a 4 star hotel. If the breakfast were to be improved I would have only great things to say about Piccolo.
Very nice room and facility, with additional grounds in small cove area. Great setting and simple walk to Portofino harbor. Staff was quite competent and efficient, but seemed personally aloof.
Location; view; staff was very helpful and professional. It was a bit noisy, but it was located right on a roadway so it was to be expected. It could have had darker shades because it was very bright in the a.m. The place was a little tired and rundown.
Excellent location, although older style the rooms were large and comfortable - ours had a great balcony, lovely swimming beach, friendly staff - perfect for families or couples.
Our small dog was welcome and we got a room with a balcony. Modern and very spacious rooms. Old hotel nicely renovated. Wonderful location. 10min walk along car-less small pedestrian walk to Port of Portofino. -
staff was very accomodating , helpfull and plesant. excellent location and we like the beach too. the pathway to portofino was a great advantage. the rooms were little dated , could do with a makeover.
It was a excellent value for the price but certainly not among the better appointed hotels we stayed in during our trip. The location right on the road was dramatic and the access to a beach an unusual plus for Portofino. The staff was helpful but probably not that experienced in the hospitality business. It has tiny almost ship-like bathrooms. The front door is literally on the street which is narrow and treacherous and the parking is cramped and dangerous but space in this little hamlet is limited. The staff, although helpful, seemed inexperienced in the ways of the hospitality business and the bell man (if that is what he was) smelled heavily of alcohol. Breakfast was primitive and not very good (we decided to eat in town after tasting the acrid juice). This hotel probably needs more professional leadership and a facelift, but it was certainly relatively inexpensive.
It is quiet, the staff are friendly, it is a lovely building and the views are great. Breakfast is dull, the coffee is not too good.
This hotel is somewhat like an old castle perched on a hill overlooking Sta Margherita town and the sea. We chose this hotel because it really looked nice, had parking and was of great value. We really liked our stay here and found the hotel's decor and ambiance quite fitting. We had a nice corner room with a beautiful sea view and a spacious bathroom (room 26). It is very convenient for people with cars as there is parking (parking is quite an experience as you have to manage a steep zigzag driveway, if you have trouble, someone will assist you). It is a 10 minute walk downhill to town. Breakfast was pleasant.
It's a great hotel for the money! clean, nice rooms with shouwer and toilet. The location is central! The hotel is hard to find, as is everythin in Venice!
Very impressive building, nice clean rooms, great breakfast, nice wiev Parking somewhat difficult understandably
staff, location to super village was very good too, especially if you want to work those calf muscles! no internet facilities in rooms, also tv control was faulty, room was fairly compact, 47 stairs to room.
I was very impressed by hotel appearance from outside. Real small castle, with very green territory, lots of flowers around, very beautiful and romantic. Inside its not a luxury hotel, but very cosy and nicely decorated. Staff was good, room always clean, breakfast nice as well. View from the roof of the building is stunning, u can see all Santa Margarita underneath you. Location is good as well, uphill, but that what gives you this great view. 7 min walking to the sea. I absolutely loved this hotel.
The building was unusual and the entrance hall enormous. The staff were pleasant and the view from the roof top solarium splendid. The room was o.k. and the bathroom adequate, but large clean white towels and good hot water. The access to the hotel was horrendous, on a corner of a main road. Getting up the driveway at night was hazardous and the parking very limited.
We arrived by train and were advised to take a taxi as the hotel is on a hill. It is and quite a steep one. Very friendly staff to greet us. Beautiful decor and our room was perfect. Large room, big comfortable bed, large modern bathroom, a wonderful view of town and sea, clean, clean, clean. The breakfast included was very good with lots to choose from. This was our last stay before returning home and we could not have asked for better. It is on a hill and is a bit of a walk from town. Only about 5-10 minutes from the centre of Santa Margarita and for us not a problem but for someone with mobility issues it could be. Parking seemed to be an issue for the parking area was small(we were not driving so were not affected) however the staff was very accomplished at organizing the cars.
lokalisation of the hotel brakfast, kaffe
Nice location The railways path is a real pain, Train are passing with a frequency of 20 mins, and keep going u to late at night and strat early in the morning
We loved the view and town of Rapallo. Expected less as the surrounding area is very well revered. Rapallo, however, is within one hour or less of all the important areas on the Ligurian coast.
great service, gave good recommendations for dining and touring, great location
Very good location and very good cleanliness of our room. Spacious room recently renovated wooden floor. espresso and cappuccino were no very good something happened to espresso coffee machine
Very nice hotel. The coffee was the best served during our 10 days traveling Italy.
Excellent hotel - Elizabetha at front desk very friendly. great English - really great location, across the street from the sea, shopping right there outside the door. Plenty of restuarants within 5 minute walk. Parking across the street is 10 Euro for over-night, but very accessible. Be warned that the parking lot is used for market day on Thursdays and you are not allowed to park in that lot on Thursdays - don't know where you would park that day - maybe a daytrip added to your shedule so you don't have to deal with that. We only stayed one night - but wish we had stayed 3 days - it was a really great place.
The location was very good, being located on the shoreline and close to the market area . The staff were extremely helpful knowledgable and friendly and spoke English very well. The breakfast buffet was very large and full of fresh products. Our room was a good size and quiet.
Everyone was very helpful. Parking was no problem. Close to the train station for the ride to Cinque Terre.
Very good location in centre of town - nice rooms - good view. Raphello is a beautiful place. Service was fine.
Perfect location, comfortable rooms, helpfull staff, reasonable price (with seasonal discount). Once we asked for the possible extension of our stay we got a free upgrade to Superior Double Room. Staff was wery helpfool with planning of our trips to Portofino and beatyfull Cinque Terra villages
location standard of the hotel
Beside it's excellent location, we had a view, first line,of the Tigluilo Bay, from 2 beautiful balconies, the staff was extremely helpful and thoughtful of needs. Like all of it !! maybe a double glass for the windows ?
Recently remodeled - very nice interiors. Very helpful front-desk - good restaurant recommendation. Location is a short walk from Notre Dame, and even shorter to subway and Charles-de-Gaulle airport train.
The great welcome and friendly staff and the ocatkion - right on the seafrront. Small bathroom/shower - slightly disappointing breakfast selection.
The manager, Luciano, was so wonderful! He went out of his way so many times during our stay to help us. This hotel is very well run, clean, modern, and very comfortable. We were upgraded to a room with an extra bedroom at no extra charge. If street noise bothers you, do not stay in the bay view rooms.
Fabulous seaview, quiet room, very friendly and helpful staff. An excellent hotel for the price. Nothing. Everything was perfect.
Friendly, relaxed and comfortable also very helpful. An ideal holiday location with lovely views as well.
Wonderful position on the esplanade in front of a marvellous gulf; friendly staff; good breakfast; very good location for excursions by boat or by train. Room-to-room noise insulation is poor (we stayed on the 4th floor)
Nice balcony, perfect view Parking (On the street in front of the hotel, no problem in our case as we were there during the week but I can imagine it would have been more difficult during a weekend)
The hotel was clean, comfortable and cosy. The view from the balcony was spectacular.
The location was very good with sea-view and close to all amenities I had reserved a parking space otherwise parking in this part of the town is horrendous
The hotel renovation has been completed to an excellent standard and the building and rooms look beautiful. Although aesthetically pleasing the room size was incredibly small with not enough adequate storage space. There is no bath tub and no safe for personal belongings. Even as guests of the hotel you have to pay €25 per person per day to use the hotel's private beach.
The location is excellent as it is situated right on a small beach between Santa Margherita and Portofino. The hotel runs a shuttle bus to a schedule but was happy to run us into either place when we wanted. There was also a bus that stops outside the door. It has been recently renovated and is ultra modern and very chic. The bathrooms are spacious and beds comfortable.with beautiful linen and towels. The restaurant is located on the beach front with doors that open to enjoy the view. The restaurant during the evening was too formal and very expensive. The breakfast was a little disappointing with a very limited choice for the continental breakfast, everything else was an expensive extra. The sea view is probably not worth booking as the windows facing the sea are high and do not provide a good view.
Cleanliness was perfect Bathroom was out of human dimensions. It was not possible to have a shower because it was too small.
Own Beach and nice restaurant Hotel rooms are not worth of money
- the room and bathroom were big, with all comfort, very clean - the stuff at the hotel were very helpful and nice - breakfats was a not very consistent, only sweet things
Great location, very friendly and helpful staff
I had a room on the top floor with access to the terrace with a great view of the harbor. The room had a/c which is a big plus. The staff was real helpful in providing information on the surrounding area.
An excellent location in Rapallo, close to shopping, restaurants, harbor, train and bus service. Staff could not have been nicer. The breakfast was very good. Recommend you use the parking garage service if bringing your own vehicle. The terrace has beautiful views of the town and harbor - don't miss it. All 3 couples in our group enjoyed our stay. The rooms toward the front of the hotel have great views but are a little noisy from street traffic. Our friends who had a room facing the rear of the hotel said they were very quiet.
Location and Staff friendliness. nothing that would preveny me staying again.
The staff were so friendly and helpful and helped with restaurants and advice on how to get about generally.
Very nice room with balcony and view of city. Good location in easy walking distance of marina and ocean. Downtown in Central business district. No view of marina or water. The hotel looked a little rough from the outside but was updated and very clean inside.
Clean, plenty of space in room, not noisy No shelves to speak of in bathroom.
The staff were great and helpful. They had a lift and a rooftop area to relax away from your room.
While not on beach it was close to all amenities. Easy access from train, local bus 50m away. Central location for visiting other towns. Staff very helpful and always attentive. Near to lots of restaurants. Smaller than average single beds. No fridge in room.
- Very nice location - Very nice hotel staff - Breakfast is disappointing
Very kind and helpful staff with big smile and english knowledge. The hotel is on the seaside, 5 minutes walk from the train station, near restaurants and shopping facilities. There was hot water during the night and free internet from the hall.
The location is excellent and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Views from the restaurant made a good start to the day (as we did not have a sea view from our room). Room (305) a bit small - but good for the price. Need a mirror in the bedroom (not just in the bathroom!). Breakfast a bit limited after 8 mornings of the same! We never managed to get a spot for parking in front of the hotel but free parking on the road nearby was fine.
Excellent location. Fantastic view. Staff was great. Great value. Exceeded expectations.
Best possible position in the city. Nice personnel. Value for money was good. Quiet during night, and a perfect view over the sea and the strand promenade.
The hotel is very comfortable and has this special ambience of a stay with friends. The location is perfect: beautiful and right on the sea-side next to the ancient castle. It is close to the old town, ferries and the railway station. The staff are very friendly, efficient and helpful. The breakfast was good and definitely much better than expected from a 3* hotel. The standards of cleanleness are very high. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and would love to return one day. The hotel beach is the only "weak spot". It is quite small and could use some cleaning, especially after rains and storms. I never used it. However, I would like to add that Rapallo is an ideal base for exploring Liguria but not a beach place. It has a town beach but swimming there is not so pleasant because of proximity of the marina and ferries that come and go every hour. St-Michael (20 min walk from Rapallo) is a good place to swim.
Great Sea View cappucino only from machine
location & view fromroom bathroom size, breakfast
Excellent location, excellent breakfast and good value for money. A huge crack on our room wall which had been taped up but did take the shine off a little.
Clean, very helpful staff, excellent location Only issue was slow drainage of hand basin in bathroom.
Beautiful spot; the room had the balcony with view I had requested. Breakfast buffet good; Located in best spot in Rapallo, staff helpful and accomodating for tour info. use of internet, restaurant recommendations, etc Bed Pillows were not comfortable for people who sleep lightly.
The location is great but the beds are old and broken and the staff were not interested at all. The decor hasn't been updated since the 70's and the dive school start to congregate at 7.30am so absolutely no chance of a lie in. I would recommend that you avoid this hotel at all cost. Poor standard of staff service - they don't even ask if you've slept well or enjoyed your stay - a sure sign they already know the answer! Cost wise it's about £60 a night overpriced and the beds - crippling!
THe environment and the view: luckily we had the view to the sea. The other optio would have been the view to the parking lot. The personnel was not that nice when I complained about our room being in the garage building in the parking lot.
Location of the hotel, value for price, friendly staff, nice breakfast
We had a short stayed at this excellent hotel.Well positioned for visits to nearby Portofino and other villages. lack of internet in the rooms which was dissappointing in 2010
Close to beach. Pool roof terrace. Within walking distance of Santa Margharita and Portofino. Do not stay in Annexe [Dependence]. Rooms were small and dark - if you can afford it, try for main hotel...
Location Rooms were in an Annex, - this was not clarified when booking. "Beach" was definitely wrong, Gravel and Rocks - impossible for non swimmers to enter water. - Adjacent Hotels had much better Beach facilities. - Also "beach" facilities cost way too much!.
Staff very friendly and helpful. As I do not speak Italian I asked many questions and was also given a map by the reception staff so I could makemy way around the local area.
This hotel has two buildings. Main one is in good condition but second one you even can’t call it hotel it’s over 100 years old Motel. With dirty walls, moldy in the bathroom, absolutely terrible bed, mattress and pillows. In addition air conditioner didn’t work and hotel staff didn’t want to fix it – they just recommended opening windows! Plus it’s absolutely no soundproof. You can listen what is going on in the next door room. Elevator working with terrible heavy metal sounds and it was waking us up every time. You can’t promote this hotel as a 4 star hotel. Its misleading information and I even can call it fraud because when you see these rooms and disagree they tell you to pay extra 85 euro to move to nice room.
Location, location, location, set in lovely St. Margharita, very easy access to to local excellent restaurants, shops and beaches. The hotel has all the necessary facilities and spacious rooms. Breakfast was pricey, but a few steps from the hotel and one can easily find a cafe or restaurant.
They market and sell a parallel pension as a 4 star hotel. When booking be aware of the added "Dependance", this is nothing but a pension and you will pay a four star hotel price for it. Upon complaint, they will diligently offer to relocate, of course, at a higher rate.
Clean and modern with good ammenities and location and efficient staff. No complaints.
Central location, Friendliness and spacious and clean rooms It can be noisy as it in a piazza where there is a bar with live entertainment.
the hotel was pretty, clean and seaview room were also good as well as the staff. the price was acceptable and i would like to stay again at the same hotel.
Very nicely located near train station and the center of town, Staff very professional, and helpful. Breakfast is excellent.
The location was very good just opposite the promenade and close to the town centre
Great location with a view of the water. Right in the middle of town. Staff friendly. Breakfast okay. Short lumpy beds. No parking.
We had a nice room with a lovely view from the balcony overlooking the bay but also only a 5 minutes walk to the station.. Staff very friendly and helpful. The boat to Portofino left from the wharf just across from the hotel. We had a very pleasant stay here.
The hotel staff were pleasantly friendly and helpful. The room was large and clean but decor was a bit worn and outdated. The breakfast was very good. The village was beautiful and very well positioned for exploring along the coast. This was the noisest hotel that we have ever stayed in. The first night (Sunday) the bar located less than 100 meters from the hotel played the most dreadful cheesy bad wedding type music well into the am hours. The music and mc were so loud that closing all the windows and doors and putting in ear plugs was of no help. We expected the police to arrive and shut it down but apparently this type of Benidome disruption is acceptable. The next morning after a few hours of sleep we were woke up by the city workers who were assembing a stage across the street. Upon return to the room that night (Monday), the street outside the hotel was filled with people attending the city's Jazz concert which went well past midnight. While the noise level was as loud as the night before, the music was at least good and we would have enjoyed it more if we weren't so knackered from lack of sleep followed by another full day of wonderful hiking of the area.
Great location and lovely hotel, good breakfast and generally a very good experience Staff could have been a little more friendly- they were a little offhand. We had a double and a single room- the single room was very small for the price- the double room was very good
Our room had balcony and a wonderful view of the Waterfront. Both the room and the bathroom seemed renovated fairly recently. Both were smallish but OK. The hotel has a good bar/snack area in the evening with good service. You can't beat the location. Right in the middle of the waterfront strip. Rapallo is a beautiful, fun town but not as crowded as the Cinqueterra villages. We didn't go to the restaurant. Didn't see many customers there and it is very expensive compared to others nearby.
Lovely balcony and view of the sea. Very noisy with street car and music along seaside street outside balcony.
I liked the location of the hotel very much, close to the marina, beaches, old town, railroads. I like the small size of the hotel, only 5 rooms which creates a very cozy athmosphere. The staff was very good and helpful. The repertoire of breakfast foods can be increased.
the rooms were quirky and lovely. The high quality fittings and furniture in both bed and bathrooms located with great care and attention. eating breakfast on the quayside outside the door was a real treat. breakfast was good, but having to pay an extra charge for items ordered was a bit much.
It's in a fabulous location right in the midst of the old port, yet provides ultra modern facilities and an intimate atmosphere. It's not very convenient for accessing by car, since temporary parking is only possible 200metres away, and long term parking rather further. Also the reception/breakfast bar area is somewhat cramped.
very charming, dircetly on the Camogli port calm despite its central position
The location was excellent, staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good. Parking and getting bags to the hotel was expensive, time-consuming and difficult.
This hotel is in a superb location with rooms with close views over a very picturesque harbour in a stunning town.
The position of the locanda is lovely, just a step away from te town center yet very quiet. Staff is helpful and nice. The room was perfect (amazing view) and although the bathroom was actually quite small it was fully equipped and very functional. n.a.
The location was perfect, the room was ideal and the view was to die for. The reviews state the hotel is perfect for a romantic weekend. It is perfect for anyone.
The two young women at the desk who received and took care of us, one blonde and one dark haired. Gentile, courteous and caring. The location is mozzafiato, perfect. The plastic covered caved in mattress, the marks on the walls, the lack of lobby spacde, the orange decor and the plastic covered chairs. The shower was capricious.
Easy to find parking tiny and not clean toilets, very noise street, breakfast was served in a cafeteria and it was very very poor and not fresh.
The staff were so friendly and the hotel had a lovely family atmosphere. We stay at many hotels around the world and they were possibly the friendliest we have ever experienced. No matter what time we were in the hotel, day or night, we were greeted with smiles, helpful advice and tips about seeing the area and a friendly face. We have 2 young children and the staff couldn't do enough to make them and us feel at home and comfortable. Also, the hotel was very good quality for the price, quaint and traditional with a fabulous view of th sea from our big hotel room window and is perfectly located in the centre of Rapallo. We will be back and will recommend this hotel to all our friends who are thinking of visiting the area.
Very accommodating staff. We arrived very early with one more guest than we had originally reserved and they had a room for us and we were able to check in early. I would stay there again. Windows opened to a street with a pub below that was a little noisy until very late.
Friendly/ helpful staff, Great location, Elegant marble floors minor issues: (1) shower glass door needs maintenance badly:very difficult to open and close. (2) Room could use some paint touchup and molding repair.
Very friendly and helpful staff, family owned, well situated for access to seaside boardwalk, ferry and train. Room clean and comfortable. Very welcoming of our little dog (thank you). Breakfast was a disappointment; only bread/buns, juice and warm yogurt available. No fresh fruit, no cheese, no sliced meats. Recommend asking for a seaside room as our room opened to a back alleyway that was very nosy at night. Despite these disappointments we would return again as the location and friendly staff compensated for these.
The reception staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. the room was large enough for the four of us and very clean in an excellent location right at the harbour and nice and quiet. The kids especially liked the fold up bunk bed.
Well located on Rapallo's waterfront. Easy walk from the station and friendly staff. Lack of internet access that was promised on Booking.com website. We chose this hotel based on access to internet and it was provided only once during our two night stay. Internet was only available on the hotel's computer so felt very uncomfortable using it when we did.Breakfast was terrible - nothinbg more than juice, jam, bread and coffee/juice. Also rooms needed a good airing. This was not good value for money - even during a busy time of year in Italy
great location, fabulous owners/staff, airconditioning worked great Hotel is over the Grand Bar and is noisy on weekends I used ear plugs and was okay. The bathroom was very small but not necessarily the same in the other 9 rooms
its central location; reasonable selection of breakfast buffet (in comparison to other hotels in Italy) long way to the breakfast room in the cellar
Staff/ family run, very helpful and warm. the room was nice but at the back overlooking a small lane and very noisy. The lack of a mini bar fridge was disappointing and no resaturant made the room expensive. Location at the back, and no lift, this is a small hotel of 6-1- rooms on the first floor above a commercial shop and restaurant. But the operators were more then helpful and very pleasant.
