Whether you’re coming to cheer on your favourite football team or to see a top musical act, the atmosphere in the stadium is always electric. Of course, there’s more to Wembley than its well-known stadium. The neighbouring OVO Arena Wembley is another brilliant place for a gig, and then there’s Wembley Park – one of London’s most exciting new neighbourhoods, home to world-class theatres, buzzy restaurants and cultural trails featuring local artists. Whether you’re looking to stay local or venture into central London – which is just a short tube ride away – the best hotels in Wembley have something for everyone. Reliable chain properties remain among the most popular options, but further afield you’ll also find luxury 5-star hotels and boutique gems. Here’s my pick of the best hotels to stay in Wembley.

When it comes to location, the Premier Inn Wembley Park is hard to beat. Set just a third of a mile from Wembley Stadium, this is one of the best hotels in Wembley for those looking for an easy place to sleep after a game or concert. It’s also just a 180-metre walk from Wembley Park tube if you want to head into central London.

The hotel has super-comfy beds, powerful showers and fast, free Wi-Fi. For a clean, comfortable place to stay with all the amenities you need, it’s a no-brainer.

Wembley Park is a fun area to explore – I’m a big fan of Boxpark Wembley with its lively bars and street food traders. But if you fancy staying put, the on-site restaurant Thyme Bar & Grill is a reliable choice, serving up classic dishes like burgers, pies and steaks for dinner.

This is one of the best hotels in Wembley for a room with a view. The Novotel London Wembley is set across 10 floors, offering spectacular views over Wembley Stadium. It’s quite something to see the world-famous sporting venue from this height.

All of the 235 guestrooms are spotlessly clean and stylishly finished, decked out in a soothing colour palette of white and soft grey with pops of blue. I particularly like how comfy the beds are here – trust me when I say you’ll sleep like a dream.

Gym lovers will appreciate the 24-hour fitness centre, while business travellers can make use of the 2 on-site meeting rooms. There’s also a bar and a modern restaurant serving a range of international dishes like seabream with wilted spinach, coriander, edamame beans and pesto.

If you’re looking for bed and breakfast vibes while still being within walking distance of the stadium, this is the place to book. I love how spacious the guestrooms here are. Many come with mini kitchens, complete with fridges and microwaves, making this one of the best hotels in Wembley for longer stays.

The stylish rooms all follow a red and white colour scheme with vibrant murals on the walls – some feature technicolour flowers while others have paint-spattered footballs in a nod to the nearby stadium (which is a 15-minute walk away).

There’s nowhere to dine on-site, but the hotel does have a lovely garden and terrace, which are great places to sit out on sunny days. There’s also private parking available – a major bonus if you’re looking to drive to your gig or football match and need somewhere to leave your car safely.

For an upscale property in the heart of Wembley, nowhere comes close to the Hilton London Wembley. You know you’re in for something special as soon as you walk into the lobby, with its vast triple-height ceilings and arty light fixtures.

For me, it’s the great amenities that set this place apart – I could spend hours splashing around in the indoor pool, and there’s also a sauna and steam room for a spot of relaxation after your laps. Other facilities include a 24-hour fitness centre and a business centre.

Guestrooms are sleek and spacious, with larger suites that are ideal for families. All the rooms are pet-friendly too. I love the rooftop bar, Sky Bar 9, which serves hand-crafted cocktails alongside gorgeous views of Wembley Park.

While Wembley itself may not offer many boutique gems when it comes to hotels, venture slightly further afield and you’ll find plenty. Case in point, The Hoxton, Shepherd’s Bush. A 30-minute drive from the stadium, this is one of the best boutique hotels in Wembley and the surrounding area, set in one of West London’s buzziest neighbourhoods.

The property follows a stylish 1920s meets mid-century aesthetic, with velvet banquettes, dark wood and copper details. The thoughtfully designed guestrooms range from compact Snug rooms to spacious Roomy options, which have king-size beds and walk-in showers.

I love the fact the on-site restaurant, Chet’s, is a destination in its own right rather than just being a run-of-the-mill hotel eatery. The Thai-Americana restaurant is decked out to look like a retro diner and features a menu of fiery dishes like pineapple rice and coconut and lemongrass fish curry.

Just around the corner from Baker Street tube station (which is just a few stops from Wembley Central) sits the Dorset Square Hotel. This 5-star property is a luxurious haven in the heart of London, making it one of the best hotels in Wembley and the surrounding area for those who like the finer things in life.

Spread across 2 Georgian houses, the property is part of the Firmdale group, which is known for its unique interiors and use of bold colours. I like how the plush guestrooms feature patterned headboards and vibrant wallpapers, while public areas have custom-made artwork and bespoke furniture.

The Potting Shed Bar and Restaurant is a delightful spot that’s open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as afternoon tea – my favourite mid-day pick-me-up. Don’t leave without trying the strawberry and custard tart.

I’m a sucker for a great pub with rooms, and this is one of the best I’ve come across. Set in the leafy neighbourhood of Ealing, just a 20-minute drive from Wembley Park, this is one of the best hotels in Wembley and the surrounding area. The pub was originally an 18th-century coaching house, and still features beamed ceilings and wrought iron detailing.

All of the cosy guestrooms come with ensuite bathrooms and feature luxurious 1600 spring mattresses and flatscreen TVs. Larger rooms also come with fridges and separate desks.

Aside from the rooms, the delicious pub grub is a major draw here. Expect classic mains like beer battered haddock and chips, sausages and mash, and braised beef and ale short crust pie. If you’re staying on a weekend, I highly recommend booking in for the Sunday roast.

Marylebone is just one stop from Wembley on Chiltern Railways, making it a great base for those visiting the stadium or arena. And The Landmark London has long been considered the finest hotel in Marylebone.

This 5-star property dates back to the Victorian era and has the period details to prove it. I love the vaulted entrance hall and the stained-glass windows in the wood-panelled stairwell. The guestrooms are similarly classic and elegantly appointed.

But it’s the soaring Art Deco atrium, where afternoon tea is served, that really sets this place apart. Complete with towering palm trees, there are few places more magical to enjoy this British tradition. Elsewhere you’ll find an excellent spa, a 15-metre pool, hot tub and state-of-the-art gym, making this one of the best hotels in Wembley and the surrounding area for luxurious amenities.

Harrow is one of the loveliest boroughs in northwest London and home to the world-famous public school. It also happens to be particularly handy if you’re trying to get to Wembley Stadium, around 25 minutes away by car.

This newly built hotel offers clean, comfortable guestrooms at very wallet-friendly prices, making this one of the best hotels in Wembley and the surrounding area for travellers on a budget. It also comes with a few extra perks, such as free valet parking and an express check-in and check-out feature.

I particularly like the hotel’s bright and cheerful breakfast room, which puts on a buffet breakfast every morning. There are you can fuel up on fresh fruit, cereals, pastries and hot items like eggs and baked beans to set you up for a busy day cheering on your team or seeing London’s sights.

Wembley Stadium is just under 2 miles away from this sleek property, one of the best hotels in Wembley and the surrounding area. Located adjacent to the Park Royal Industrial Estate, Park Plaza London Park Royal is particularly popular with business travellers, but families and couples will find plenty to like here too.

The modern property is spread across 6 floors and features 212 guestrooms, all of which are done up in a cool, contemporary style. I like the gleaming white bathrooms, which feature gorgeously scented ESPA toiletries.

There are plenty of on-site meeting rooms, as well as on-site laundry service and a fitness centre for those looking to work up a sweat. Meanwhile, the vibrant Westway Bar & Kitchen serves up classic dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with kids under 12 treated to breakfast for free.
