8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff is AMAZING!!! From Alhasan at checkin, to Ms Fatou our villa custodian to the many security staff they made our visit extra special
Cons: As it was the off-season both the hotel restaurant and bar were closed BUT its located 50yards from the SeneGambia strip where there were ample dining options
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has a very professional staff and processes, offering all support for a very pleasant stay. The Hotel is also very well located, in front of a beautiful beach. It was very relaxing staying there. The restaurant was also very good and the swimming pool clean and well maintained.
Cons: The bathroom could be better - renovated - although it wasn't bad for this part of Africa. Renting fast internet and obtaining credit for air conditioning was a bit strange but understandable in a part of the world where electricity is very expensive.
6.3 Good
Pros: It is my first experience in Africa (except South Africa which cannot be considered a typical African country) so I cannot compare to other places There are plenty of green areas - golf resort - direct access to the beach - 10 minutes walk to the strip where the touristic bars and restaurants are. Wild animals (especially monkeys) are free to roam the place and share your food sometimes - some insects in the room but this is Africa after all and you have to expect having them around - no privacy at all but again it seems this is an African tradition - staff and Gambian people are the friendliest and warmest I have ever met... the staff will recognize you by name, shake hands and introduce themselves. Rooms: 6/10 the villas are big with a garden but they need restorations and cleaning. There is no TV in the villas which is surprising; maybe you can get one for extra charge same as the A/C Location: 7/10 although it is 10 minutes walk from the strip but still the walk is in a construction area and you won’t feel very safe walking from the hotel to the strip Internet: free internet everywhere but very weak (this is a general problem in Gambia not just the hotel) Service: staff are extremely friendly and warm but far from being professional. They are very noisy and they enter the room without even knocking on the door. On my last day, they kept rushing me out of the room to check out as they were other visitors arriving around noon. English is widely spoken by everyone Value: the hotel though not empty but it wasn’t as full as Neighbour hotels and this is probably because it is slightly more expensive than the others This hotel is perfect for big families planning to spend quite a long vacation in Gambia
7.9 Good
Pros: the location the staff.
Cons: the bed was very uncomfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about the facility is up to standard
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. The food in the hotel was really good too.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff are extremely friendly. Lovely complex right on the beach very safe. Easy walk to all bars and restaurants
Cons: Bathrooms now starting to look a little tired
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We were so impressed with the management and staff.. they were helpful, friendly and went out of their way to please. A very spacious villa.. fabulous for a family with the option of self catering or eating in the restaurant..which we liked. Surrounded by attractive grounds and with the beach just by the pool. There was games.. football , volleyball etc..if you wanted to join in. The food was very good..perhaps breakfast could have been a bit more comprehensive..definitely have an African massage..brilliant and amazing value. Wi fi not great.. which I thought was a bonus ! There are very good restaurants near this hotel. I recommend the scala.
Cons: The cooked breakfast was not great.. our breakfast at home is better! The town is interesting..lovely people.. but I wish there wasn’t so much litter around. I suppose it is due to lack of infrastructure in Gambia.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The Gambians are very friendly and interesting people. It is aptly called the smiling coast. The grounds of the hotel were spacious and peaceful with beautiful exotic birds and fun watching the monkeys in the morning. Fantastic sunsets over the sea. Often had the swimming pool to ourselves - good sun loungers. Well looked after on the beach with sunbeds moved for us so readily and towels provided.
Cons: View from windows would have improved even more with an extra clean.
6.7 Good
Pros: The staff was friendly, especially the guys from the restaurant and the security. I really wish that I could give a better rating for them, but I didn't like too many things. I wouldn't go back to this resort.
Cons: This is rather a 2-star resort. They don't provide shampoo and shower gel, which is a bad joke in my opinion for a 4-star resort. There was no complimentary water in my room, no house keeping and the rooms are old. I also didn't like the fact that you cannot use your credit card for amounts less than £100. I had no more cash but an open bill from the restaurant and had to pay £10 extra for paying by credit card.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was so beautiful and the staff was amazing. When we arrived we were led to our room. I reserved a basic room and it was quite nice. By the time we walked back from the room I asked if there might be a closer room to reception because it really was hard for me to walk that far. They found a deluxe room for us that was very close to the front and right by the pool!! AND then he told me they would not charge us any extra! The staff was so helpful and kind. Definitely would go back!
Cons: The grounds are so expansive i just wish I could have experienced everything there! I would have loved a/c in the reception area, but that's just my spoiled self talking!!

5.8 Okay
Pros: bed ok. Location
Cons: Boring breakfast. Tried one week to pay since machines did not work. Had to try 7am last day. Very stressful. WEill not recomend anyone to stay there.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location is amazing. Gardens are well tended and full of wildlife. Sea is amazing.
Cons: Room was shabby. Bars and restaurants were very average. A lot of noise until well into the night (e.g. 3am). 'Business Centre' was an old PC and printer. I asked to make some photcopies but that was beyond them.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The pool. The grounds...with the monkeys and birds. The calm!
Cons: Claims to be 5-star, but sadly so many little things (that cost nothing) make it hard to give great reviews: the breakfast (same every day), the bathrooms (in huge need of modernisation), quality of menu (description of food at pool bar inaccurate, font of menu sloppy and dishes unavailable), and, sadly, so many of the staff do not deliver 5-star service or portray ‘smiling face of Africa’. And then booking in Euros, having rate converted to Dalasi (at hotel rate), and then converted again (at hotel rate) to USD to actually pay AND be charged credit card handling fee makes whole cost much higher by the time you actually pay. I know it’s The Gambia...but you’re just left feeling that the whole experience could easily be improved. Would love to spend a week there doing consultancy work to help them actually be 5-star!
4.6 Okay
Pros: Large hotel with beautiful green grounds
Cons: For the money it was not worth it. the WiFi didn’t work the entire time we stayed which is hard when you need to get things done. The area is very touristy and you are constantly harassed. We got sick off the food which was over priced and terrible. Some of the staff were relentless at the pool. Would not recommend
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Sijainti ja ympäristö
Cons: The food was better outside. Breakfast was vety good.
5.4 Okay
Pros: bar/room staff very friendly. Gardens and beach amazing.
Cons: Utterly unprofessional management who refused to even discuss a dispute with the bill and called in the local police to prevent me from leaving.
7.1 Good
Pros: Excellent breakfast, Excellent grounds, Pleasant staff, Good location
Cons: Housekeeping needs to improve - Sheets not changed for days, ran out of toilet roll and took a day to get one after my request. Making a double bed out of two single beds with single bed linen unacceptable and very uncomfortable. Hotel needs a general face lift.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, Location and privacy . Love the privacy of the beach. Hard working , ready to help with a smile staff.
Cons: I was told the bill will be in Euros but ended up being in Dalasis. Confusing. Having to wait 2 hours to get into our room after we booked it in advance. Lack of communication between management and front desk staff. Bookings should be on the computer not held by management off duty. They had to call the manager at home to confirm our booking!
6.3 Good
Pros: Not very much.
Cons: The wifi was almost non-existent in the rooms. The hotel changed my room because of this and it wasn't much better. Check out was a nightmare and I will take some persuading that 'the card machine not working' was a con because they wanted cash. I had to go out of the hotel to another hotel to get cash from my debit card and was charged 5%+ commission. Another 5 star Coco Ocean Resort & Spa where I had dinner had the same 'problem'. Dinner 780 dalasi told to use the ATM outside the reception. Requested 800 dalasi and was charged 200 commission - 25%!
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room. Friendly staff. Good food.
Cons: The beach is eroded, so you generally have to go to a neighboring hotel to experience the beach.
5.8 Okay
Pros: the people from the housekeeping are the most friendly people working in the hotel
Cons: old hotel for me not a 5 star service not friendly at the breakfast

Cons: Mattress was stiff.
Bungalow Beach Hotel - Serrekunda
7.8 Good (92 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Bungalow Beach Hotel in Serrekunda, you'll be on the beach, within a 15-minute drive of Kololi Beach and Banjul Beach.
7.9 Good
Pros: The gounds were well kept. The surrounds were very peaceful.
Cons: The rooms did not have a kettle in them. They provided a saucepan to boil the water. The plugs are 2 pins. The lady at the desk was kind enough to lend me an adaptor.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: not so I needed a double bed not two single attached
Cons: Not so much I enjoyed my stay!
5.8 Okay
Pros: food ok, staff friendly, good massages
Cons: rooms dirty
10.0 Excellent
Pros: BB i s my favorite Hotel in The Gambia. It has kept its nice style and good quality with kind and professional staff during 40 years. Right on the beach and away from the worst traffic and tourist buzz around Senegambia.
Cons: Just the weather. It was cloudy that one day I spent at the end of my week . It does not happen very often.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice and quiet. Beautiful rooms and great views. Good equiped bathroom. Everything you need is in the kitchen. Better then many apartments I have seen in the Gambia.
Cons: The dustbin was open. Not very hygienique. (Luckily it was emptied every day). A bit expensive.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing. Your description of the facilities and the hotel etc were totally erroneous.
Cons: Everything including your description.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic staff and great location!
Cons: Haphazard check in and poor quality local spirits
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I liked the sun, the experience, people were friendly and I felt safe when I traveled across Gambia and Senegal.
Cons: I didn't like the beach, as it was dirty, nor the fact that I had to pay an extra fee of 3% for using the credit card, nor the fact that at the ATM had to pay a fix fee of 150 GMD for each transaction and was allowed to withdraw no more than 2000 GMD, but the ATM had only 1000 left. I had a constant fear of malaria, which could have been solved if there were insect nets at the doors and windows and around beds. The hotel, the flights and taxi were more expensive in Gambia than in other vacation destination preferred my masses, such as Thailand, or Egypt, while Gambia is far more poorer than the other two mentioned destinations.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were amazing! So friendly and made us feel welcome and at home! The bar supervisor Backary was the life and soul of the pool bar and kept us very entertained. Reception staff were great and returned my lost property to me within hours. Our sea view room was the best! Many varieties of food available all day! Onsite hotel driver Ibrahim picked us up from and was our driver all of the holiday at reasonable cost. Fantastic entertainment from drummers and dancers all week. Can’t wait to go back in 2019
6.7 Good
Pros: Good food
Cons: No fridge in the room or iron or kettel
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Functional AC in the rooms. Clean beach front and swimming pool
Cons: No Internet. For the 6 days I stayed there, I failed to connect to any internet at the hotel. Also not room telephones
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding location, excellent swimming pool, good access to beach, competitive bar prices. Rooms cleaned to a very high standard, fresh flowers provided every day
Cons: Room service ordering very difficult when we arrived late at night, tired and hungry. Took an hour to arrive, was overpriced, not as described and unpleasant to eat. The food is the weakest part of what is otherwise an outstanding resort.

Cons: A lot of mosquito in the room no lamp and plugs near the bed to switch off the light you move to the door.
5.0 Okay
Cons: This place has its own house rules, with additional fees, that are not present on Beware of that.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice staff that were helpfull and my kids loved them. Good pool area. Very cosy hotel. Good that I got a baby crib for my 1 year old and a bed for my 4 year old in our bedroom. Good air conditioning. Fun for the kids and me when monkeys came over the rooftop of the pool area.
Cons: Bad food, spiderweb in the kitchen. I found old customers recites in the kitchen cabinet and in the side table of the bed. The sofa was broken.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great
Cons: No tea/coffee facilities in room
5.0 Okay

5.0 Okay
Pros: Hotel was a building site taking roofs off all building while we were her so bad
Cons: The hotel and building work as we stayed there terrible
6.7 Good
Pros: Yes, yes. At reception I had problems because at first we booked 5 rooms i by mail cancels a surplus and we received their conformity as agreed and when we got there we wanted to charge the 5 bedrooms.... After a lot of complaining and showing them the mail received from them we got that in four days I would be admitted and it hasn't been.....
Cons: La atención en recepción y la lentitud del servicio de restaurante
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff are amazing, really friendly and go out of there way for you. Hotel is lovely, has a really cosy feel to it.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location near the SEA
Cons: Breakfast not enough choice more vegetarian option needed not enough Sun lounges around pool side
7.5 Good
Pros: The location, the beach, the swimming pool and bar/restaurant area, the entertainment of the evenings.
Cons: The owners aren't very friendly (on the other hand the staff is very nice). The rooms have no WiFi signal.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: the hotel looked and was very shabby, it could definitely do with a makeover. the reception had wires hanging around the electrical facilities (by that I mean just a television). if there is only wifi in the reception area surely it would be appropriate to provide a swift connection with suitable charging points.
Cons: the rooms were poor, the towels were not changed everyday, there were no toiletries provided, even this is found in basic hotel accommodation. the food was of a poor standard, the bars were poorly stocked, for the price it was better to eat at the beach bar/restaurant kunte kenteh that was five minutes from the hotel.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location, easy to get around, friendly staff
Cons: The beds more comfy, closing restaurant at 10 and pool bar at 11, although you could drink elsewhere. Needs some TLC and repainting, more variety for breakfast.
7.1 Good
Pros: The nice souvenir shop at the hotel. The prices is the lowest you can find without bargain. That they really like to help you with your problems, they are service minded at the reception. Nice that they had some small activity at the poolside every day. And it is very close to the restaurant Kunta Kinte, door to door, at the beach. And that restaurant have good food and low prices compare to many other places.
Cons: Their Cappuccino was not good at all. The 2 beds in the double bed was not of the same height. They don't seem to have any backup when the electricity is gone.

Pros: Friendly staff, clean facilities, modern
Cons: The credit card machine. You guys need to offer preauthorization forms like other hotels. This is pretty standard and common.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The pool & bar area were nice
Cons: Everything apart from pool/bar area & location! Was asked to pay up front prior to seeing my room... I soon realised why!!!!! Stayed in room 48, horrible & dark, no outside space. Maid knocks on door at 9am for towels but never got replaced before 4pm!

Cons: Only down fall for the hotel is there’s not much for the kids to do not much entertainment and the pool is so quiet other than that there’s no problems
6.7 Good
Pros: Rooms were large and spacious. Staff were generally friendly. Breakfast was nice with hot food. Reasonable selection of food and drinks for purchase by the pool.
Cons: Groups of bumsters sit opposite the hotel entrance and hassle/follow guests to the beach and ask for money. This is the only entrance so there is no way to avoid them. You have to get up early to get a sun lounger by the pool and there is a lack of umbrellas. We had an any infestation in our room and this was not dealt with despite asking twice! Also we did not get WiFi in the room. The only reliable WiFi is in reception.
7.5 Good
Pros: Bed was comfy, lovely landscape, spacious bungalows, clean and large pool ample lounger, towels, adequate gym equipment. Spacious and modern lobby area.
Cons: Fridges should be in all rooms, more English TV channels, more variety at breakfast more waiters Daily activities. No wifi in rooms
7.5 Good
Pros: Friendly reception staff and welcoming upon arrival. Room cleaned and fresh towels provided on a daily basis by staff. Bungalowes have good sized rooms and beds are very comfortable. Maybe not a 4 or 5 staff hotel but the staff, location and facilities are. Very close to restaurants and beach, all within walking distance.
Cons: Suggestion only - entertainment & themed events could have been better advertised and promoted in advance - lost opportunity in my opinion.
10.0 Excellent
