6.0 Good
Pros: room was good
Cons: we were moved from swimming pool at 4.30pm and there wasn't anywhere in the sun!! man was quite rude tbh disappointing tbh breakfast time was chaos, too many people not enough tables, running out of stuff!!
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Beach athmosphere and personnel
Cons: Rooms are too old and basic without any extra’s. No shampoo, no hair dryer, 2 little soaps (one used and other one is an old paper unreadable brand). Many mosquitos too, nothing to keep the room mosquito-free. I’m 7 months pregnant and they gave us the rooms just across the first swimming pool where the evening is “loud” live music till 23h. Not ideal for someone who needs some quiet time and sleep. All is in cash so you litteraly need to go from the middle of the reception desk to get your bill, then left side to cash / exchange money, then to the right side of the reception to pay your stay. Personel very friendly, wifi very poorly working what wasn’t easy to confirm your flights and took me more than an hour holiday time.
7.0 Good
Pros: All the restaurant staff, as well as the pool/beach attendant were incredible! Breakfast and dinner were good. The beach is great! A small market, and a couple of places to eat, just outside the hotel.
Cons: Beware of booking informations: there's no shuttle to the airport (let alone it is free). No credit/debit cards accepted and they invite you to withdraw money from the "hotel" bank with a 4,6% fee; take money with you or go outside and use the ATM machine. Booked half board; when I arrived, and on the day after, I was told that only breakfast was included. No drinks, not even a glass of water, included in the dinner! Wi-Fi everywhere but only "works" nearby the reception.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good location. Cheerful and helpful staff. Nice entertainment
Cons: No ATM. Battery in safe not working
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was so beautiful and the staff was amazing. When we arrived we were led to our room. I reserved a basic room and it was quite nice. By the time we walked back from the room I asked if there might be a closer room to reception because it really was hard for me to walk that far. They found a deluxe room for us that was very close to the front and right by the pool!! AND then he told me they would not charge us any extra! The staff was so helpful and kind. Definitely would go back!
Cons: The grounds are so expansive i just wish I could have experienced everything there! I would have loved a/c in the reception area, but that's just my spoiled self talking!!
5.4 Okay
Pros: Room was clean. Shower was large.
Cons: The Senegambia Hotel and its ownership group actively discriminate against non-European / black guests. If you are black, you will be treated worse than the whites. I recommend booking an Airbnb instead.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, nice beach and beach restaurant, good newly renovated rooms with AC
Cons: Depending on the location within the hotel, the wifi connection was bad. Payment with credit card was not possible although it was mentioned as payment option on booking.com. This lead to some hick-up with the management but in the end the issue could be solved by paying via bank transfer.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The Location and the sea view
Cons: The first night, the hotel gave me a single room, even though I had paid for a double room, plus I paid for breakfast & dinner but the hotel said I only paid for breakfast, so I had to eat out everyday
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast and good coffee, nice surroundings and nice swimming pool.
Cons: That one of the managers and one of the boys behind the reception asked for my girlfriend's telephone number. Hands off, she's mine.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The Breakfast was excellent and enjoyable. Clean Rooms Amazing staff.

7.5 Good
Pros: The location was great and easy !
Cons: In the restaurant the kitchen utensils are not clean. And when we enter first in our suit the Bed sheets weren't very clean, they re coming after us to change that! It's better.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was restrictive. I expect a more open breakfast where guest see and choose what they like
Cons: Not allowing taxi's to drop guest in the front office. Guest are made to drop at the gate and walk
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the environment, the staff were welcoming
Cons: I'm cool with the services I got
7.0 Good
Pros: The location and facilities is good. They offer private beach
Cons: The reception people has no training and no responsibility. They never reply email. I send several email regarding change my invoice. They make mistake with my company name. I left at 3am , I leave my email address and business card. they said they will asked manager to change company name on my invoice and sent back to me. Until now , it pass almost 2 weeks, no one reply.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The spa was AMAZING. Had several treatments and I was very pleased with the service.
Cons: Wifi in the room was horrible. It barely worked unless I was standing close to the window. In other locations it seemed to work just ok, tripping off intermittently but manageable. I was charged a fee for a local call I never made. It was eventually taken off my bill when I argued with them. Breakfast was ok, nothing too fantastic I had an issue of money being stolen from my room. I was told I left my safe open even though I was sure I didn't. Anyway the security manager kept on trying to convince me I left my safe open but didn't have any information on who stole the money. I asked to speak with the people who found my safe open and took account of all that was in my safe but i didn't get to meet them. For 2 days after the open safe incident, my room wasn't cleaned, towels weren't changed, trash wasn't emptied, it was a complete mess. Evidently the management Is having issues and the standard used to be a lot higher but my experience there wasn't so great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: food and staff
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The sea, the beach and the swimming pool are wonderfull.
Cons: Rooms/suite in the Papaya building have to be avoid. You get the impression to sleep in a Parking place.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Nice grounds, friendly staff
Cons: Being made to have euro bill changed to Gambian delasi then having to pay in US dollars plus a 3% surcharge. Put about £300 on the bill
5.8 Okay
Pros: The location was good and breakfast was ok .
Cons: This was my first stay in Kairaba and probably the last. considering I paid 100 Euro’s a night I was not impressed to have a view of a wall in front of the car park! Staff did not seem interested in trying to find a better room. I go every couple of months on business and next visit I will definitely stay elsewhere.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Kairaba is probably the best hotel in The Gambia due to location and it's beautiful arrangements of its park, pool and beach What the hotel may miss of a 5 star standard is to a big extent compensated with a very nice, service minded staff everywhere
Cons: The receptions work and the hotels internet is really bad
5.4 Okay
Pros: bar/room staff very friendly. Gardens and beach amazing.
Cons: Utterly unprofessional management who refused to even discuss a dispute with the bill and called in the local police to prevent me from leaving.
7.1 Good
Pros: Excellent breakfast, Excellent grounds, Pleasant staff, Good location
Cons: Housekeeping needs to improve - Sheets not changed for days, ran out of toilet roll and took a day to get one after my request. Making a double bed out of two single beds with single bed linen unacceptable and very uncomfortable. Hotel needs a general face lift.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room. Friendly staff. Good food.
Cons: The beach is eroded, so you generally have to go to a neighboring hotel to experience the beach.

1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing. Staff tried to over charge us and there were ants in our room
Cons: Staff are rude and dishonest. Definitely not a 5* hotel
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic staff and great location!
Cons: Haphazard check in and poor quality local spirits
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I liked the sun, the experience, people were friendly and I felt safe when I traveled across Gambia and Senegal.
Cons: I didn't like the beach, as it was dirty, nor the fact that I had to pay an extra fee of 3% for using the credit card, nor the fact that at the ATM had to pay a fix fee of 150 GMD for each transaction and was allowed to withdraw no more than 2000 GMD, but the ATM had only 1000 left. I had a constant fear of malaria, which could have been solved if there were insect nets at the doors and windows and around beds. The hotel, the flights and taxi were more expensive in Gambia than in other vacation destination preferred my masses, such as Thailand, or Egypt, while Gambia is far more poorer than the other two mentioned destinations.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Just the view of the ocean and cleanliness of bathroom.
Cons: The customer service is ridiculously slow, in regards to guest services and house keeping were no where to be found. Took a number of occasions to chase up house keeping to clean room. Hotel ran out of essential necessities. The maintenance of the rooms and balcony were horrible and infestation.
7.1 Good
Pros: See below
Cons: Very beautiful hotel/location. Clean and modern. Lovely staff. Food very nice and all inclusive very good - super cocktails alcohol and non-alcohol. The spa also is lovely. The only room for improvement -: We stayed for 4 days and could not get a sunbed any day - it asks you not to reserve the beds however the other tourists appear to reserve their beds from around 6am. Very disappointed not be able to relax by the pool or beach and instead had to sit at a table by the bar! No tan here then! 2 out of 4 days they had run out of beach towels. The tourist season has not even started yet so I dread to think what the sunbed and towel situ would be like when the hotel is fuller! The kids pool was not clean or cleaned it would seem and was quite disgusting. The hotel is all inclusive. In Gambia wages are very low and staff need to make up their money with tips. The staff do not get paid more than other non- inclusive hotels and so are working on a very low wage. There is no tip box or means of rewarding staff in the hotel. There should at least be a box in reception where tourists can put their remaining dalasi before they leave the country which could then be shared once a year with all staff.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff is AMAZING!!! From Alhasan at checkin, to Ms Fatou our villa custodian to the many security staff they made our visit extra special
Cons: As it was the off-season both the hotel restaurant and bar were closed BUT its located 50yards from the SeneGambia strip where there were ample dining options
6.0 Good
Pros: Staff, clean areas, location, we got an upgrade which was nice.
Cons: It was difficult to swim in the ocean becase of red flag every day we were there, there was construction in the area, we had many cockroaches in the kitchen, leakage in the bathroom (which was fixed though)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Complex, location and staff were all great. Villa very spacious and well equipped. Beach towels large and soft! Very clean inside and out
Cons: We had a 2 bed villa and there was only aircon in one bedroom (not the 2nd bedroom or living areas) Our son ended up with a matress on the floor in our bedroom so he could sleep in the aircon as 2nd bedroom too hot. We paid the same price for aircon that my parents in another villa paid and they had full aircon throughout.
5.8 Okay
Pros: In large lovely grounds. Very spacious rooms.
Cons: All villas in need of modernisation and refurbishment. Having to pay extra for air conditioning £9 per day is extortionate.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in v26. We loved just about everything about the place. It brought back old memoires, as we were here 29 yrs ago, and created new ones. All the staff were amazing, espacially our friendly waiter Ousman and we also had great contact with Kebba, Ebou, Karafa and Haddy.
Cons: The lock on the door was awkward to open and close. The woodwork outside on the balcony could do with some updating/repairing.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very spacious and good location
Cons: Some lights were not working. One room was very loud during the night because of bars nearby.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent friendly staff.
Cons: Entertainment was awful. Face DJ

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff are lovely
Cons: Price I paid when I arrived was different to what I expected to paid much more.
5.0 Okay
Pros: it was clean and AC works. that is all actually. otherwise, dont stay there
Cons: there is no internet in the room although they say on booking they have. then i faced a problem and i wanted a refund, they said only the manager can do that. but the manager was not there and never came for 3 days. i am sure it was another lie anyway. the food is not good. there is no safe in the room but it does not give the feeling that it is safe to leave stuff in the room. Breakfast was poor and not very hygienically displaced. they have a stand for freshly fried eggs. the person frying the eggs was very rude. when asked to to fry three eggs he answered that only two eggs per person in a rude way.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Close o a great Beach, Good sized Pool, excellent Kitchen & Staff

7.1 Good
Pros: comfortable bed, quiet, good food
Cons: Not too clean , personnel cannot make decision when the problem occurs. Only one Amy really take care and helped.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location with easy walking distance to a lovely beach as well as to Senegambia, the main tourist area. Very friendly staff that did everything to make our stay great. Cozy pool and bar area with delicious and affordable lunch/snacks. We never tried dinner but looking at the menu they seemed to have a wide variety. Clean and basic rooms but spacious and with a nice veranda when staying in the junior suite.
Cons: Breakfast could have had a few more choices and also it got a bit crowded during peak time in the morning. Lighting in the room could be improved and mosquito nets covering windows could have a better fit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location great food great pool perfect
Cons: Leaving
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The pool area was nice and the area of the hotel (the street had lots of nice bars and restaurants). It was a very short walk to the beach.
Cons: Overall, the people at the reception were not helpful at ALL! It is not a comfortable and well maintained place. Everything seems old and not well kept. Upon arrival we received the wrong information on the breakfast times (from 7-8 AM) and we were immediately tackled for a trip (whereas it was the middle of the night). In the pool area people kept harassing us for massages and tours. Upon seeing the room, it looked as if it was not clean and overall as a junior suite it did not match the photos as displayed on the website. Breakfast was poor, we walked in around 9 AM (whereas it is till 10 AM) and everything was already finished. Cocktails in the pool area are very expensive and not in line with the ingredients. Finally, the most important part was the payment. Via booking.com we received a confirmation that we could pay with our credit card. This was important for us since it was hard to get cash in Gambia. However, the reception people stated (different from time of check in) that the machine never works and that we should pay in cash. This meant that we had to withdraw the maximum amount, incur additional costs etc etc. They did NOT offer a solution.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was good.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet and relaxing. Great views. Friendly staff
Cons: Nothing to complain about
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Bamboo is big hotel with good location near beach and Senegambia strip.room was bit old with good shower and bed.tv channels was lost.buffet breakfast.very nice smiling staff and lovely reception girls

7.9 Good
Pros: Great location being central but away from sebegambia. Hotel clean and adequate. Staff friendly Rooms cleaned daily
Cons: Wifi was very intermittent even by the pool and reception which at times was very frustrating
9.0 Excellent
Pros: IVE STAYED IN BAMBOO MANY TIMES. STAFF ARE EXCELLENT. ROOMS NICE AND CLEAN. POOL AREA AND BAR NICE. BREAKFAST IS BUFFET WITH LOTS OF CHOICES.
Cons: FEW CATS AND THEIR KITTENS ROAMING AROUND. THEY FRIENDLY CATS AND GUESTS FED THEM. THE SMELL OF THEM SPRAYING WAS JUST A BIT TO MUCH.

Pros: Near the beach Central location Friendly staff Lovely Breakfast (excellent) Swimming pool Bungalow nice spacious room Had a complaint regarding not having a fan in the room and this was addressed quickly they provided a stand up Fan Quiet The grounds Clean room generally
Cons: The rooms need up grading and fans need to be put on the ceiling Up grade towels The bathrooms need to be cleaned better for example the sinks The bathroom needs up grading a little
6.0 Good
Pros: Everything we needed for a pleasant week. Nice pool, good breakfast and helpful staff. Bungalow was roomy. A five-minute walk down to the beach and a 15-minute walk to Senegambia strip.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The pool was great and the biggest in The Gambia. Would definitely go for a bungalow and the shower was great too. Would also like to personally thank Mateus for all his personal touches ie. leaving frangipani on our table and feeding the birds so I could try to get a really good shot of the eagles!
4.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was ok, and the rooms are spacoius. The whole hotel is fenced in, so it was safe to let the children run around and play. The bungalows are situated in a nice and open garden, and it has a overall nice and layed back feeling. The pool is large with both a deep and and a shallow end.
Cons: We had trouble with the aircon and we had to complain mutliple times to eventually get another room. No compensation was offered, we had to demand this. Some of the staff was unfriendly and made it out like it was our fault. They also forgot we had to change room and asked us to pay extra for the new room. All the issues where eventually sorted, but you have to talk to the right people, and a lot of the staff seemed unwilling to aid because that was not "their job". We actually had to move a bed between to rooms ourselves with two staff members watching because moving beds was the cleaning ladys job and she had left work that day. Pretty unbelievable! A lot of the staff was of course very friendly, so this does not apply to everyone of course. All in all if you dont have any issues I think this is a ok hotel, but if you are unlucky and have som problems with the room or anything else, be prepared to be frustrated. They should definatly send some of their staff on a customer service course!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was generous and well served, I also ordered lunch from the restaurant, steak with mushroom sauce, tasty and fast orders. Staff were friendly, welcoming and fun. The room was clean.
7.0 Good
Pros: It was very good. Many of local and international foods were available. The staff at the breakfast place was good and cooperative. They will prepare the omelet according to your choice.
Cons: I didn't see anything bad there. Only one thing which they can work and improve is the timing. They start at 7:30 am. It should start serving, at least , at 6:30 am, as some of guest need to leave earlier.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is really nice. The facilities are pretty good, big pool and games area.
Cons: The taxi manager outside was really rude to us and since we did not take their services cause their are overpriced compared to others he was mad.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Bed was comfortable
Cons: Check in was a mess, took an hour to get organised. WiFi doesn't work most of the time, they blamed it on the network but other hotels didn't have the same issue Air conditioning isn't included I was told on arrival so a price was negotiated All agreed, I produced my credit card to pay for the rooms with the extra air conditioning price. I was then faced with an additional 5% surcharge they added on because I was paying with Visa. The hotel is up for sale, it's old and worn ... Best to stay away until they're sold and have better management!!!
7.0 Good
Pros: Roomy bungalow. Nice, big, clean pool. Free breakfast. Friendly staff in the resort, front desk was less friendly. Bungalow was clean and spacious, but a bit run-down. Nice for a few days.
Cons: Breakfast was a bit on cheap side. Bathroom was clean but could do with an update, small leak from sink. Room should have a fan, we had to pay extra for ac. Poor WiFi. A fridge in the bungalow would be nice.

6.0 Good
Pros: room was good
Cons: we were moved from swimming pool at 4.30pm and there wasn't anywhere in the sun!! man was quite rude tbh disappointing tbh breakfast time was chaos, too many people not enough tables, running out of stuff!!
