Overview

Lakewood sits just southwest of Tacoma in Washington's South Sound, a green suburb near Chambers Bay golf, the gardens at Lakewood, and the gateway to Mount Rainier. The Best Western Lakewood makes a comfortable base in Lakewood, Washington, close to Joint Base Lewis-McChord, the Tacoma Dome, and an easy drive to Seattle and the mountain. Roomy, comfortable rooms give travelers and military visitors space to settle in, each with a flat-screen TV, microwave, and refrigerator. A free breakfast opens the morning, free parking sits right outside, and the pool and fitness room are there when you want them. Chambers Bay, a links course on Puget Sound, hosted the U.S. Open just down the road in University Place. Lakewood Gardens, a historic estate garden, and the wildlife refuge at Nisqually lie a short drive away. Fairways and gardens, the Dome's concerts, and the road to Rainier all sit close by. Settle in and let the South Sound set the pace.

Summary of reviews

Guests say
Guests consistently praised the hotel's breakfast, describing it as excellent, flavorful, and varied, with several reviewers calling it the best they've had at a hotel. The staff also received positive feedback for being friendly, helpful, and responsive, with multiple guests highlighting specific employees who went above and beyond. However, cleanliness was a recurring concern, with reports of dirty rooms, bed bugs, bugs, moldy smells, and maintenance issues in bathrooms. Despite these issues, many guests appreciated the comfortable rooms, convenient location, and overall value, though some experienced problems with booking and communication.

Pros (+) Liked that breakfast was included. Helpful and friendly staff. Nice quiet location. Seemed like a safe area.
Cons (-) The cleaning staff came into room at 10:00 am sharp wanting to start cleaning the room while we were still getting ready to leave for day. However we asked them to wait 15 min so we could leave. no problem
